How many government & social systems exist to advantage women or that favor them unjustly. Often, resolving issues of equality will involve dismantling these systems. You think feminists would be chill and just accept, for example, reform to child custody or paternal rights regulation. As an otherwise heterosexual, masculine man who enjoys wearing women clothing from time to time just becasue it makes me feel good, I do agree with this. I disagree. While I am all for consideration of circumstances in sentencing, I don't think that being a first time offender should be a factor. We are socialised from birth to know the law and not to commit criminal acts, and on that basis you shouldn't get a pass just because it's a first offence.

He was telling me that if I, as a white male, wanted to join the force I would currently have about a 1 in 17,000 chance of being successful, where as if I was a woman I would have a 1 in 11 chance.

This is unfortunately the case with much of the western world, access to therapy for pedophilia is quite hard to access for a number of reasons until one has actually committed a crime and the therapy is court mandated. You could make that argument for a lot of things we now prohibit, but the rule of law is to protect and regulate against social anarchy and to preserve individual rights against the ill-intent of other parties, not to please people.
