Oh, well I suppose we were arguing two different things. I agree, objectionable or offbeat opinions/ideas that are not clearly hate speech should not be banned. I thought we were discussing clear cut hate speech. Cheers

Eh, gonna hard disagree there. Is allowing ISIS to recruit young people and spread their hateful rhetoric on a Facebook page, just so they can be challenged in the open really a better option than just shutting that shit down.

There’s no reason to give hateful ideas a platform. If they want to discuss it underground so be it. But they don’t need an online space to congregate and recruit likeminded folks. You can’t just “squash” an idea, what does that mean? You can’t argue with these kinds of people
