I'm not gaslighting, I'm saying there are clearly places in the world where this is not the case so it seems to be a you or "where your are"-thing if you see this a lot

I have seen this on online forums but never seen it in real life. "Taller than me" yeah sure. "Earns min x" never seen

Assuming it is not sexual, I would be disappointed if my partner refused because after all we all do little things for our partners that we are not enjoying 100%, but we do them anyway. Listen to a long monologue on a subject matter we have no interest in, go to a restaurant with food we don't really enjoy that much, go to a family event for their family where we don't really like anyone etc. So short of reliving trauma or being in physical pain, I would probably be a bit disappointed (to a vary…

If you keep thinking like that about "women" as if you were describing a different species ("cats tend to sleep in small naps during the day") I don't think you're gonna end up very happy. Depending entirely on the kind of space you go to you'll find very different attitudes. Go join a pottery class and I don't think you'll encounter women who would rather have fun with a handsome idiot. Go to the fanciest bar in your city and probability spikes.

What this is absurd. Short men should not reproduce? I'd rather have an ugly kind man as a neighbour than a handsome idiot.

Incorrect. Taking care of the house is not optional unless specifically agreed as such.

Same way as a calendar can't replace an assistant I suppose. Don't worry

True there's a disconnect! Also unless you're dating particularly shallow people, I would say attractiveness is like 20% the face you were born with and the rest is haircut, posture, skin care, hygiene, fashion choices (as in, cargo pants and flip flops vs chinos and sneakers, both could be cheap) and the flow of the conversation together with body language.

There are men and women who are vain, some have superiority complexes, and they who often enjoy high end brands and flashing the brands wherever they go. If that's what you like then fine go date them in your Gucci shoes, but don't come here and claim that it's somehow in "women's nature" to swoon if you wave a Dior scarf around, because you know that's some bullshit.

Nvm this idiot, for some reason he both thinks women speak as a group and that only trophy wives are worth listening to. I think your points were great, fwiw. Have a good Christmas!

You don't. You can make a guess. If "wealthy enough to not drive shit cars and practical enough to get a regular one" is very important to a woman/man then I imagine they will count it against you. Generally though you talk, you hear what kind of problems they have in their life, how they talk about money and such. If it's "so worried about making ends meet" Vs "can't decide what fund to invest in" Vs " have some upcoming costs so I'll take the haircut next month instead it can give an approxima…

This is some serious bullshit just taken out of thin air. Of course we have seen such instances but it's still not a reasonable expectation of neither men nor women to sacrifice too much or hurt themselves in the process. Why do you want to go through life convincing yourself that "all women do this" and "all women would do that". I have never in my life seen a case of someone just "upgrading" their partner, man or woman, because someone better came along. Rather the opposite in fact, staying wi…

Please, not all men are Ted Bundys and judging "a tendency all men have" based on a couple idiots with a lot of publicity is plainly stupid. We don't need to shame anyone, there will always be people who enjoy sexual attention and others who want to be with those people and share their values. Why can't we co-exist? They are not gonna be the majority. The Christian or Muslim puritans aren't gonna be the majority either. Young women and young men often act pretty stupid in one way or another. Som…

Honestly I haven't seen anything like this. I live in a western country. Men come in all flavours, some pride themselves on being exactly as you describe. Some are more stereotypically male. Some are very well groomed but assertive and gym going. I imagine they all attract quite different partners. I think it's important that men just like women are allowed to express themselves as they see fit. Perhaps all bullies they ever met were assertive, aggressive, hyper masculine and they associate that…

You sure do. Just communicate with her, without looking like you have a list in your back pocket. What's important to her partner will be important to her, if you approach it respectfully.

Presenting a list like this sounds very controlling and condescending. Some people can have mature relationships with exes, some cannot. It's not disrespectful by default. Talk to her, tell her you're feeling insecure regarding any ex-related contact and how much it bothers you. If she feels these relationships with exes are important because they may hold a different position in her life today, she'll simply choose that. She's your partner, let her decide herself if she'd rather hold authority …

This sub really has a lot of talk of "women" like we're some political party with cohesive opinions and democratic councils and debates. We're not. Consider instead that it has to do with expected milestones for the culture you are in. Someone who has fallen behind the expectation is generally bit of a red flag for many prospective partners, but of course not all. Sometimes you're behind because of bad decisions, poverty, lack of skills, lack of drive or of course sometimes just plain bad luck. …
