Haha whatever you need to tell yourself man. It’s not going to change my opinion. And guess what, I’m far from alone in my opinion as well. You just sound like a simp

Haha I don’t think anyone’s worried about their masculinity being threatened pal. I just don’t want to see little Brie Larson flying around for 2 hours. I can only roll my eyes for so long. I just won’t be supporting the project.

Then why are you reading it? Nothing better to do I guess...

Do you have sources for those claims? And the original was a man. And during the infinity wars era, it was a man. That’s my point. I don’t really care about anything else you’re saying

Sorry my post offended you, but I know what I’m seeing with the overtones in these films. Disney making captain marvel a woman is quite profound because it’s not just one super hero as you put it, captain marvel is supposed to be one of the strongest in the marvel universe. So, the implied meaning is definitely that the woman is over all of the men we’ve seen so far. Keep in mind too that captain marvel was a man in all of the more prominent marvel comics so Disney choosing to go with a woman in…

Oh yeah. Never saw Scott pilgrim, but after hearing that, it definitely sounds like it’s worth a view. But I saw the trailer for wreck it Ralph 2 and yeah, feminist overtones were strong in that trailer even. I’m kind of hoping ppl start backlashing against this by not supporting these films so filmmakers back off a little

Well expect that to not be the case in this movie. They aren’t bringing Brie Larson in for shits and giggles man. She’ll be kicking Thanos ass. Guaranteed

Exactly. One of my favorite movies when I was a kid was Kill Bill. I’ve got no problem with female protagonists, but a lot of cinema lately is going with a shoehorned, overpowered dynamic that I can’t co-sign.

I completely agree with you. I just mean Im capable of understanding the sentiment that these films are trying to communicate without seeing some 5’4 women jumping around beating up all of these muscular 6 foot dudes who none of the men could beat for some reason lol

Don’t get me wrong, some of the scenes, like that parachute scene was pretty funny, but her matching blow for blow with cable in that moving van after we saw Deadpool getting his ass kicked by cable was kind of lame. If you notice, these female characters don’t seem to really have weaknesses. Only the male characters do.

I think the male captain marvel was in the comic book version though, unless I’m mistaken. I think they purposely went with the female version for the feminist overtone. I have no beef with Nebula though. Her character isn’t really overbearing.

Deadpool has smaller issues. Like Domino being overpowered and colossus always getting his ass kicked only to be saved by very tiny women. They aren’t as big of offenses as the new Star Wars movies, but they are eye rolling moments for me. Like why even have colossus if he never gets to be colossus really?

Exactly, but I’m not going to the theaters for that lol.

I think it’s easier to talk women up in person if you want to get numbers/laid in real life than use any of these sites if you’re halfway presentable. You’re not a man on tinder, you’re just a photo and that’s a problem.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
