It’s a mixed bag. If you’ve managed to keep yourself in decent shape and have a decent career, you get some last man standing cred. So you’ll probably see more options, it’s just a question of quality. Lot of women-children looking for a daddy or women your own age who are damaged and so terrified of being alone they’ll “settle” for guys they aren’t into. You may find yourself saying “no” more than you expect.

Women don’t find the average man attractive. The opposite isn’t true. On top of that, there’s a higher rate of obesity among women than men (at least in the US). If one takes polygamy as a natural and desirable state of things, then sure, women are acting within their league.

Tell you what, we’ll shut up when the media stops whining about men not living up to women’s and society’s expectations while offering precious little in return. Until then, I don’t know why you’d be surprised that so many men are disgruntled.

Depends on objective. If it’s purely to have sex, then ya, sure, why not sleep above your grade? The frustration the average man has is twofold: Yes, differences between genders in innate sexual value do make it harder for the average man to have casual sex. If they are looking for commitment the women in a similar league now have wildly out of proportion expectations for the man, and tend to end up resenting him for not exciting her as much as her flings.

My ex had a similar profile and still upgraded to a wealthier man when the opportunity provided. And I make decent money and even helped her out financially through the pandemic. I’m not saying you will do the same in your relationships (outliers exist), but it’s very very difficult, perhaps bordering on impossible to screen for these qualities upfront. Even the ones who look self-sufficient and genuinely modern seem to fall back to traditional expectations of men and hypergamy.

Right, we make circumstantial exceptions. Killing can be murder at one extreme, and self-defense on the other. I agree that perpetual victim hood is nothing to celebrate, but also sometimes changing your circumstances means rejecting the role society has cast you in. That often involves playing loose with the “rules.”
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 03:17 PM

Exactly. Half of the problem is that women want men to perform traditional roles while being liberated from their own. If you want a traditional man, be a traditional woman. I can’t tell you how often I thought I was dating an independent, accountable woman only to find out well into the relationship that she was expecting a provider. It’s so tiresome.

Some of the best dudes I know haven’t been hits with the ladies. They’ve got good social lives, friend networks, and never hesitate to look out for their people. What women consider value is not exactly an objective standard of what value is.

People do call women undateable. I know a few myself. Their female friends, if they have any, have stopped trying to set them up. The men who know them might say, “She’s cute, but no.” She may still be considered fuckable, depending on how toxic she is. Usually it’s due to having a high-conflict personality, which gets less and less cute with age. It’s rarely, if ever, said about women who are just physically unattractive. They may get less attention from men, but it’s not necessarily assumed th…

The argument isn’t that they can’t get dates, it’s that they’ll fail to get commitment from the men who meet their “standards.”

And more and more men are realizing the vast majority of women offer nothing of value and are a financial and emotional liability. We are enjoying our peace alone and/or just having flings. The happiest subset of men are single men who never married. The system will find an equilibrium.

Nah, animals are entirely driven by feelings. You can easily observe this in a dog or cat. Feelings drive basic survival actions. It’s our high level cognition that allows us to fool ourselves into thinking our feelings are magical.

Would have said no until recently, but having accepted women’s hypergamous nature I feel like I now have a duty to upgrade to a better model should the opportunity present itself. A system is only as good as its weakest link.

As I said earlier, if I can’t count on women I help personally to show me respect, why would I think it would improve women’s behavior collectively? Sounds like it would just make you even more cavalier than you already are. In fact, feminism is more influential than ever and men are having less sex than ever. Seems like a pretty bad deal for men. I have zero incentive to make it safer for women to date Chad. In fact, there’s a negative incentive. Play your games, and I’ll do what actually works…

Are you upset the simp supply may be getting a little bit smaller? That it’s going to get just a little bit harder for women who disrespect men to get free rides from the men they hate? We see you. And more and more of us are acting accordingly.

Ok. What’s the problem then? You shouldn’t need assistance from random men. Your mutually enjoyable, respectful men can take on those duties.

Seems like a better question for women, but anecdotally it seems like many women have a pretty negative view of bisexual men with regard to SMV. Whether that’s due to them being seen as less dominant or women are terrified of having to compete with gay men, I don’t know. On personal level, I don’t really have an opinion. Aside from societal prejudice and difficulties reproducing, there don’t seem to be too many drawbacks to dating other men. Probably nice to have it as an option.

Largely true. But women seem to really hate it when men they consider beneath them or “settling” material develop some self-respect. Nobody likes seeing their safety net get clipped.

Well, clearly my white knighting phase had no appreciable impact. On to plan B. Further, you’ve established that I can’t even count on basic courtesy from women I specifically help, why would I believe women collectively would act better towards agreeable, conscientious men? Looks to me like feminists just want to experience bad boys under the protection of beta Billy in case Chad gets a little too spicy.

Putting myself at risk to protect you from the consequences of your bad decisions is not “basic human decency.” It can and does get men killed, maimed, or jailed. Why should I take on that risk because you want to play with exciting, dangerous animals? Make this make sense to me.

What consequences? Didn’t you already say that it’s wrong to expect anything positive from my actions in this regard? What exactly am I losing here? Be specific. Because it looks like my life will be exactly the same or better from where I’m standing.

You’re just confirming how entitled your attitude is. Women don’t think they owe men even basic pleasantries, yet we’re supposed to protect you and put ourselves at risk to shield you from other men? Especially the men you choose? Do women stick up for men who are being publicly shamed by women as a common courtesy? Don’t make me laugh. You don’t owe men sex. I agree. Where to begin: -Estranged from family -No female friends -Heavy drug use -“All my past relationships were abusive” -Childlike breakdowns in crisis -Absolutely atrocious boundaries -Generally unaccountable for behavior -Cycles through sexual partners very quickly -Persistent when sexual advances declined (I eventually gave in, I don’t claim to be a victim) So no, not “perfect for me” even if I was looking for something beyond platonic. I can’t speak to what was going on inside her head. But regardless she wasn’t honest about her sexuality, so that calls into question a lot about her intentions generally. My impression is she’s lonely and quite needy and maybe didn’t want to scare me off right away. It’s possible also that things just evolved. But that speaks to a broader point: things aren’t as cut and dry as people make them out to be in the intentions department.

Get yours, king. I love how they want us to shame these men, like that hasn’t been tried. I explained in a different comment that it’s ineffective and was accused of just being mad I didn’t get sex out of my intervention. Why would anyone want to do anything for these entitled, nasty creatures? Why would I take on risk for not only no reward, but outright hate and attitude? The problem is women are simply unaccountable for the outcomes of their own decisions. Want to stick it to Chad? Don’t rewa…

What a predictable and disappointing response. Reread what I said. The “thanks” part was a single sentence. A minor supporting detail. I had no desire for sex from this girl. One, not my type. Two, I don’t try to steal my friend’s women (Interesting that your mind honed in on that. Projection?) A word of thanks would have been nice was all I’m saying as I don’t enjoy fighting with my friends as a hobby. Interesting that women feel entitled to men putting themselves in harm’s way on their behalf …

I actually agree with your first point. More over, even if it’s possible I don’t think men should be. Alas, I was young. Live and learn. Your second? Sorry, it is pointless. Interlocutors are not appreciated in general. Do you think I got so much as a word of thanks from the girl? Did either of them stop and reconsider their toxic dynamic? Of course not. Because at the end of the day I’m not really a part of their dynamic. Maybe they were a little embarrassed. Maybe I even made them feel united …

Chads are idolized because at some point men get tired of either being treated like shit or completely ignored. They then reconsider chad’s much more effective mating strategy and assume he must be doing something right.

A lot of us are former white knights. I even called myself a feminist once upon a time. I had a fight with a friend for berating his girlfriend publicly. But I can call out bad male behavior all day, but it means absolutely nothing if women are rewarding that behavior. You have something they want; I do not.

Tbf, I absolutely believe there is such a thing as too much attention and that women have to deal with it. And that most men can’t relate to the issues that come with it. At the same time, I think women would be absolutely horrified by the microscopic crumbs of attention the average man gets and how utterly deprived he is of external validation. In fact, women struggle to deal with the modest reduction in attention they get when they age.

Well said. It’s the understanding of how little what you DO actually matters too. And tbf, I think there’s a kind of rationality to how women behave, ie, hypergamy, in an evolutionary biology sense. We could also debate whether it’s well-suited for contemporary Western society, but biology lags far behind cultural evolution. Is it their fault? I’m not sure I’d behave any better if I had that kind of power and a bottomless hunger for security and status. I landed here fairly late into my life, bu…

What men are fooled by is popular mainstream and, yes, feminist narratives about how men should behave, which are absolutely not in a man’s best interests for dating or life generally. Tate et al present an oversimplified counter-narrative, but it’s several steps closer to the truth. While I think the cult of personality around him is essentially a manufactured pyramid scheme, there’s a reason he’s able to pull it off.

And this is a good example of why I’m done with women for any kind of life partnership. Values and priorities are incompatible. First off, the money would not be a major consideration for me. I don’t need a lot to be happy. I don’t spend a good portion of what I make myself. I don’t need to be pampered. The main appeal of money for me is freedom, and I wouldn’t get that from a woman’s money. Quite the opposite in fact. I’ve dated women from much wealthier backgrounds; I found the level of social…

Ya, that’s shitty. I’m big on reciprocity and not holding partners to standards we don’t hold ourselves to. Nah, you’re just special pleading. No different than what the vax cult is doing. Removing access to abortion absolutely restricts what you can do with your body. It doesn’t pass muster in the slightest. The honest position for you would be to jettison the bodily autonomy argument and focus on the life argument since you clearly believe it supercedes bodily autonomy. I’m both pro-choice for abortion and anti-mandate. Seems like the obvious morally consistent position if you take bodily autonomy as the delineating value. That said, I don’t think most people on either sides of the issue actually care about bodily autonomy. It’s a buzz phrase concealing their actual priorities. The sad fact of the matter is most people’s political beliefs are based on primitive friend-enemy distinctions. “My team believes x, the bad guys believe y.” It’s all so tiresome.

So I have a female friend, mid-30s, used to go out a lot. She’s pretty heavy, but very outgoing. She slept with guys who were probably above her grade. Ended up having a kid and settling down with a guy 9 years younger than her, not bad looking, pretty fit. Nabbing a man in his 20s, when he’s at low value, is probably a good hack for a woman who’s raised high in the looks department. But she’s had to compromise on his income and maturity, both of which frustrate her.

The truth is they “hit the wall” before they even started, so there’s not the notable drop-off that women tend to experience as they age. It’s the contrast that is being referred to. Isn’t he diagnosed with BPD? That really makes me wonder about the “treats women well” thing, although it may still be a factor in his appeal. I’m not shocked that he gets tail. No, not at all. But I do think women in their 30s who want kids do run into some dating issues due to the biological clock factor. You may have a desire to move faster than your partner. Put all that on the table early so you don’t waste your time or theirs.
