The thing is, i don't feel like i can even bring up that racism/sexism parallel with these people in order to explore the nature of bigotry There ought to be a term to describe the intellectual failing in which someone would reject a true premise because it goes against their dogma, but when that same premise has words swapped (and is still factually true) in such a way it does agree with their dogma, the safeguards are down. Like, you really don't need to be aligned to any particular ideology t…

and one said the patriarchal system where men have all the power isn’t really a thing anymore (the ones in the most powerful positions in the store were women) and got portrayed as the one in the wrong. One of Trump's Supreme Court picks was female, and she also voted to overturn Roe vs Wade. A woman has more power than the overwhelming majority of humanity across the globe in all of human history, and we're worse off for it. The problem with feminists' rhetoric about men being in power is that …

Once again people fear mongering over video games are tilting at windmills. Everyone who laughed at Jack Thompson but not Anita Sarkeesian is a hypocrite.

In the very least it seems like people upvoting/downvoting comments know what's up.

How do you avoid becoming an incel? Genes, circumstance, and luck. Incel has become a pejorative for men but definitionally it's a situation men find themselves in due to factors beyond their control. Unfortunately, I am a fairly misanthropic and bitter person by default. The older I get, I get more bitter and jaded I become (not towards women, just towards life in general). Steve Stewart William's The Ape That Understood The Universe is a fantastic book that explains evolutionary psychology. I …

as well as calling me KHHV. I had to look that one up. For the record I've been married The eternal double plus ungood: women are more than objects of conquest but if you haven't gotten laid (with a woman, as a man) then you're a pathetic loser who doesn't deserve basic human rights. You shouldn't feel you're entitled to romance from a woman but if you don't have any, literally nothing you say has merit. If I were a sexist I'd look at how people respond to criticisms of feminism and defense of m…

The study was latched onto hard by people who have a vested interest in fields like evolutionary psychology being wrong because the prospect that humans aren't blank slates, that there's pre-packaged differences between men and women by virtue of natural selection and sexual selection, does not line up with core tenants of their ideology. The subject being evolution, this behavior reminds me a lot of creationists. It's not a question as to if it's false, it has to be false. There are no hypothes…

I've noticed that when feminists talk about men in general, they end up sounding exactly like conservatives talking about poor people. Vegetable_Camera hit the nail on the heard with 'Where they want liberalism for women. And conservatism for men.', just like how conservatives want socialism for the rich and rugged individualism for the poor.

She then finds a group of school girls who go off on a tangent about how Barbie is a dumb bimbo that conforms to The Patriarchy with the implication that girls are supposedly growing up thinking barbies are dumb. This is literally a Simpsons episode that came out over a decade ago holy shit. And haven't by now there's been doctor/astronaut/lawyer/whatever barbies? I had a bad feeling about this when I saw the last trailer and Ken was sexist for seemingly no reason, and it seems my concerns were …

I remember seeing this shit unfold too. There's an irony that atheists have spent a lot of time trying to make it clear that atheism begins and ends with not believing in any gods. It isn't also synonymous with evolution, marxism, capitalism, materialism-whatever other science or philosophy might be erroneously associated with it. But then you had a bunch of atheists turn around and say they want to make a super atheism that does come with a ton of baggage. It's not enough that they can say "I'm…

Love and sex are some of the quintessential human experiences. If you ask anyone who have access to those things if they'd forgo it for the rest of their life, and for absolutely nothing, they'd call you crazy. And yet if someone who does not have access to them due to features beyond their control, people will demonize them for complaining. It's no different than how conservatives treat poor people fundamentally. The mindset that if you're struggling, you deserve your suffering.

The suicide and drug overdoses have become so bad, that it's actually caused the average life expectancy to go down even before Covid. This is the first time that had happened since the Spanish Flu.

I've found that when it came to estates, 1 out of 100 of them are going to be Christopher Tolkien and the rest are going to be the immense shitters everyone has to tap dance around because copyright law is so fucked.

Realistically if all men disappeared, all of society would near immediately collapse. It's kind of hard to have a functioning society without half of the population, let alone the half of the population that are the vast majority of most under-appreciated foundational jobs.

What dumb strategy would that be though. As far as democrats go, she already would have the female vote. As far as republicans go, they don't accept the facts of climate change to begin with. As far as independents go, many of them are tired of this identity politics crap.

I get they're doing this for the benefit of transexuals but when a ridiculously small fraction of the population needs to be coddled with this sort of language skewing, that's indicative of major psychological issue. At the end of the day, they're just lowering everyone's opinion of the very people they're tap dancing like this to protect. The idea of being dehumanized as "people with penises" or "people with vaginas" and the excuse of a demographic that isn't even 1% of the population would ben…

It seems that whatever is easiest to be is the go to insult. It's way easier for women on average to find a man willing to have sex with them than it is for the opposite, so if you take advantage of that you're somehow of some moral failing. Meanwhile as a man it's much more difficult to find a sexual partner because for the majority of men, they're not the mate selector and thus if they fail to find someone, it must also be a failing on their part. I've said it before and I'll say it again, soc…

Because maybe three or four incels went crazy, and now the whole lot is a festering terrorist group that's just a rejection away from shooting up a shopping mall. When you try to make people think rationally by asking if this should thus also apply to racial or religious minorities because of the crimes other members of their groups have done, both more frequent and severe, they are unable to realize the error of their reasoning. Similarly if you try to explain that a bunch of people who have be…

Sex and romances are some of the biggest parts of the human experience. Every single form of media from literature to video games lauds how wonderful it is to have someone close who loves you and to experience an erotic moment with your partner. It is something fed to people from the moment they can comprehend stories to the day they die. Yet when non-desired men express their frustration and dejection at the fact that they have not been successful in finding love or intimacy, they're called inc…

The thing they don't understand is that men are emotional to other men. A lot of male friends shit talk each other and laugh it off, whereas if some stranger shittalked them, they'd get angry. That difference in reaction is a display of emotion. Are there things that I think men should be more open about to their friends? Sure. I'd encourage more guys to confine in their close mates if they're in a dark place at the moment or have gone through some major changes (positive or negative), but the s…

The fact of the matter is, the narrative that men are in total control of everything and live stellar lives compared to women is still extremely popular and constantly being pushed by feminist groups, feminism which has since designated itself as one of the heroes of the last two centuries and few people are willing to turn a critical eye towards its current crusades and ask if it's still at all useful in the west. In the 2000s, the issue would have been ignorance but in the age of the internet,…

From what I've seen, a lot of the advice given to incels/forever alone types are akin to boomer advice on economics and life situations. Just go up and give a firm handshake and smile. Wear good clothes. Just be friendly. It doesn't help that this parallel extends further with the fact that both getting a job and a relationship was easier in the past, one that is long gone and barring some massive societal shift, isn't coming back. People want to feel that they're helping, but they are unable or…
