Tyvm for the additional context. If anyone knows of updated similar information I'd love to see it. Kinda sad that the last publicly available information on this is 16 years old.

Men as rated by women, and women as rated by men - Dataclysm. The above graphic may be a bit old but I'd love to see more recent, more comprehensive data. Either case that right there's the tiny little kernel of truth. With a lot of empathy and compassion, however, we can maybe all have better life experiences. Bit too late for me but maybe not for others.

We need a subreddit to collect the best examples of “all men are…“ and “all women are…”

Yeah our psychological states and problems and issues totally didn't evolve and this has nothing to say on our current situations or wants and needs and impulses. Nope. Not at all. Just popped into existence. Yep.

Eh. There's also some serious fundamental inherent psychological differences, no? But yeah, people are different and different people, both men and women, want and need different things. And that's ok.

And there's no way out of it other than find better ways to spend your time - gym, reading, work, /r/financialindependence, fitness, and education. Only took me about 35 years of struggle and eventually getting a high-status job.

That was my understanding too, after reading about it. Which makes me sad. It’s like humans can’t figure this problem out.

Agreed. Not that the whole industry doesn't breed drug, human trafficking and misogyny problems. Legalisation has very serious problems and leads to nasty crap.

Beats the f word out of blowing your brains out or sinking deeper into the crap. Gives you a huge boost and may make you able to stomach life for another year or so while you get a chance to maybe improve something or other, or maybe just maybe meet someone with enough empathy to not immediately dismiss your concerns. But people with empathy for those who are not like themselves, are few and far between. As evidenced in this thread.

I just told a woman today that I am very impressed with her PhD. I'm very much looking fwd to meeting her. Sandwiches are nice but I can make one myself and it's nice to know it won't be only my salary carrying everything in case we partner up.

If one doesn’t have a good group of friends, that should be the first order of business. !remindme 15 years Please do let me know how that works out for you after a few decades working your arse off in pursuit of whatever dreams, goals, and ideals.

Yeah good luck with that if you’re a busy professional dude working dude jobs and struggling with your issues and needs and wants. Might work in college or if you’re in a mixed job industry. Or you have mad social skills or a good group of friends. Oh well.

We attribute free will and agency to people we dislike or don’t identify or empathise with. We make excuses and forgive those we sympathise with. If a person is super focused on their own experience and that of others just like them, it’s understandable that they’ll see the other gender as transactional or zero sum actors. Reference women who say “all the good ones are taken.”

People are weird, and sometimes change their minds, and often make mistakes. I’m pretty sure you and me have made mistakes too, just like her. Forgive and move on. Focus on how you can do things better, rather than how other people should act better.

Social skills, body, job, resources, education, leadership roles in group activities can help any man become more attractive, generally.

Even if everything the RP community says is true, I would rather be respectful to people than ‘successful’ and getting laid with lots of beautiful women. Call it a self-handicap. I'd rather be alone-ish and unhappy for the rest of my life than manipulate women and feel like crap for doing it. EDIT: That said, yeah, many (but not most?) women say they want this or that, then respond and are attracted to many of the standard “manly” qualities and character that RP ...jerks (for lack of a better wo…

Yep, and people are very different in what they want/are willing to settle for, both men and women. There’s women who are willing to settle for a dude that just has a paycheque and aren’t arses. Trying to make overly broad generalisations is part of where any red pill or proscriptive dating advice goes wrong. Then again, if you want highly sought after people, best be ready to be someone they’d be interested in.

"Stop looking" might work for some dudes in some situations. But generally in the US dudes are expected and required to make moves, and that only gets worse the older you get and the more strict you are with requiring a certain level of good looks in a woman you're interested in. The vast majority of good looking women have no need to pursue dudes or initiate anything at all. They show up and do what they normally do.

They also do want to fuck someone with stereotypically masculine characteristics. Plus most women are different from each other, and care about different things to a greater or lesser degree. Then there's the whole "I want X & Y, and need Z!" ...but respond very positively to "A, B, and C" but let's not get into that.

Ever gone on job interviews and not gotten the job and realized that yeah, that sucked, but at least I'm better prepared for the next job interview? Took me about 10-15 job interviews before I got lucky and got my current rather kickarse job. Congratulations from a 40-something somewhat bitter, injured and unhappy ex-military guy. You have probably now realized that every single date that fails to get you to whatever next stage that you want to go to - is one more step toward getting better at t…

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero-sum_thinking Add to that lack of long term positive exposure to other people’s way of life and experiences. They may change if they fall in love and start empathising with others, or have a daughter and watch her grow up.

No not special rules. She just assumes that everyone gets treated like she does, because that's the only way she's ever been treated. And fat people are "funny and ugly of course."

It's just a self defence mechanism. Reality is just too awful to be true, so something else has to have happened. "I'm a good person, I wouldn't have done something as bad as THEY said I did. Or they tricked me into it. It's their fault. Why is everyone always picking on me?"
