Off-topic but super happy and wanting to share :) I'm currently living in a small town where most of the dogs live free, which means they are kind of stray but not really because the whole community takes care of them. Actually, we have the busiest & more organized Vet ever because, sometimes, different people will take the same dog several times to see him and he would be like "yeah, this one is already being treated, earlier today someone else bring it". Anyways, the point is, this dogs are ha…

Ok, please ladies, I need guidance ... What is the difference between: being past the honeymoon period, being a victim of love bombing and honest self-preservation and mental health? Let me explain: My current relationship begun in the most magical way (cheesey love story over the top spiced with new age vibes). Everything was great, we were the happiest, our friends and family were excited/happy/astonished/proud. Way before the magic, both of us had plans in different countries so we decided to…

Quite a Victorian setting: Arranged marriage between Victor and Victoria, his wealthy parents wanted to climb up in the social status and her parents (aristocrats without money) wanted their money. The four adults despise each other Victor and Victoria met the day prior to the wedding. They "fall in love" because he knows how to play the piano. O.o He needs to learn his vows so he goes into the forest to practice them outloud. He ends up puting the ring on the corpse bride's (Emily) finger thus …

Today I watched Corpse Bride and it make me sick, not a Disney movie though... But still, it was released in 2005... And is just so infuriating

Sorry for commenting twice in a row but I wanted to add that one of the harshest lessons to learn as a woman is that most man are not worthy to be the keepers of our secrets and insecurities. A lot of them use the information about our past and our issues as means to deeply hurt us when their little ego gets scratched. This doesn't mean you should never open but I guess the advice is to do it cautiously and over time.

Actually is the opposite, with the quarantine he's being getting increasingly distant . From love and tenderness (to the point now I suspect he was love bombing me), now he only texts every three days (one and then two no) , we just call each other once every week or week and a half, and both texts and calls happen super late at night when he's almost falling sleep, which means we can never carry on with the conversation. As soon as I started noticing this, we talked about it . It was during my …

I've just once dated a guy with kids and it was because I thought we were fooling aroud, the moment I felt something I left... For me, kids are a deal breaker because of my own story: the last child . When my father died, I couldn't even go to his wake or to the cemetery, because my mom was banned and I was underaged. They'd been living together for the past 22 years and the 12 Years old girl was to be outcasted...

I do have male friends and with five of them I never felt any trying-to-get-into-my-pants kind of vibe. One day, like a decade ago, four of us were talking at a party and I started complaining about guys and one of them said something like "Hey! I bet at some point all of us wanted to try something but you adopted us before we could say something! I'll never try anything with someone who refers to me as her brother, that would be sick" they al nodded and burst out laughing and joking about how o…

Yeah, I've heard that story too... Furthermore about her case... I checked out old comments she's posted (a quick pick just to see if she had asked relationship advice before) and... Apparently his family is conservative Indian family who don't refer to her as the girlfriend but as "Her" who's a white flight attendant. Connecting the dots I just thing this might be not only med-lvm related but also family- pressure and (of course) him being a LVM ...

As a non-native English speaker, I actually understood the phrase "if your arch game is ace swipe right" as a literal archery-lingo (you know?, like .."if you know how to use a bow") and it was because he said something about a homestead before.

My "full pickmeisha mode on" with "nice guy" who was emotionally cheating experience: [On vacations at the beach] Me: Dear, I don't feel comfortable with your interactions with Her. Sounds absurd because we just met her two days ago but I don't know, is bothering me. He: Oh, sweetheart. You don't have anything to be worried about! [Two weeks later, back in our city, not living together after 2 years into the relationship] He: Her just answered, she will be arriving next Monday Me: Her? Arriving …

After breaking up with my ex (7 years together) I started dating some messed up guys, although at the time it was fine because I wasn't looking for a relationship, it stroke me as very odd to find that amount of weirdos... Anyways, I found this sub when I was just starting seeing my current bf and it worked wonders :)

It doesn't deserve it's own thread but I really want to vent... I'm sick and scare of this pandemic. My SO and I got stranded in different countries and different continents. Catching the flights our goverments are offering to send us back home wouldn't help us to finally meet again because we are from different nationalities, so we decided to stay put ... We are certain of our feelings and we are willing to sort out this LDR BS but I must admit sometimes the future just looks...blurry.

Tricky, tricky, tricky... I read all your comments and he sounded at first as HVM But...if that wasn't the first time you felt he wasn't interested in your world it means you were already having troubles and he might have been not that worthy of your time. I had a relationship with a guy who used the exact same phrase "I'm just being myself" to excuse himself everytime for not hanging out with my friends and family, like if I organized some celebration we'd just have dinner and leave without eng…

Younger self: 1) Don't start a relationship with any of the mates of your best friend's boyfriend only to have the chance to double date. Is not worth it unless you really like him. 2) Never forgive an infidelity. It doesn't matter if he's your first love or if it was only a kiss, if it hurts don't forgive it. You will get over him and your self esteem will heal quicker. 3) If you feel your needs are being dismissed by him, get our of there. For example, if you like a goodnight text everyday bef…

I totally agree. That's why I pointed out the importance of regrouping as women to support us in the process of unlearning whatever misogynistic lessons we learn, to acknowledge our strenghts and to own our power.

There isn't a yes or no answer ... In my experience it takes time and a little bit of luck... Latins and Latinos are all about going down I don't know if they are mostly good or mostly bad because I don't find in that practice any pleasure but I guess they try (?) ... Anyways, as a woman who doesn't find that satisfying and knowing that men are not great lovers either, you can imagine how difficult it was for me to really enjoy myself when engaging in sexual activities... For years I was sure so…

He indeed summarize quite well the misogynistic world we live in. It is deeply enraging... We have been kept "under the soles" of this herd mentality. They work together both consciously and unconsciously to "keep us in place" because they feel threatened by us but they work soooo well together than even managed to put us against each other. As the written stated in the article, what you learn as a child is difficult to change when you grow up... And sadly, many of us, were taught to compete amo…

1) Does it bothers you even when you are not around your friends who are dating more successful men? If it doesn't bother you when you are alone , daily basis it might not be that important. 2) He lacks ambition in every other aspect? Without trying to justifying him (don't allow your feelings to get in the way) for example: he's not looking to grow professionally but he reads all the time and his culture is improving so much that talking with him is just delightful; or he is passionate about id…

I'm not quite sure about: "If she starts attacking you, that you know that they deserve each other." When someone or something we hold dearly is somehow threatened (remember, the truth hurts) instinctively we attack said threat. In this case isn't only her fiancee or their relationship but her dreams, goals, the time she has invested and for a while maybe even her selfesteem. Agression, panick and denial are quite common and most of us have been there someway or another ...
