I disagree with the other commenters. I think your husband sounds selfish and abusive. Unresolved trauma and repetition of negative patterns isn’t gender-specific. This type of behavior is not representative of men in general. Does he express empathy and consideration of your feelings outside the situations you mentioned? It’s very painful to have new experiences shatter the way you once saw yourself. It takes takes time to grieve the loss of your old frame of reference and regain a firm sense of reality again while you work through the unknown. No! They’re really not educated on the potentially huge side effects. I experienced a total personality change on bc pills. I still wanted to be on birth control, so I have a copper iud (which is also not entirely without side effects either) but that’s the only non-hormonal option available.
