Ah, that'd make sense. I'm not religious, but am very spiritual, so I loved it.

A New Earth is even better. Also, The Power Of Now guide book is great because it's so short and dense, you can pick it up, read two pages, and get A LOT from it.

It's about giving you the ability to clear negative thoughts in times of great stress. Learning to control your thoughts is paramount to happiness.

So you advocate never growing personally, and instead staying the same throughout life?

You're already going with her, shit. Just be yourself and have an awesome time just being you, and then include her in the awesomeness.

After she replied, I would have said something to the tune of "So how about Saturday" or whatever day.

Yea that's realllyyyy screwy logic. Just because these famous people don't read him, or love to read him, doesn't mean they have nothing to learn or anywhere to advance to spiritually/emotionally/mentally from reading the books. Just because I used to like reading the LoTR series as a child, and still do, doesn't mean I haven't changed....

Read A New Earth instead of Power of Now, much more concise, and better for actually learning and applying.

Read A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. By far the best "self-help" book you can ever read. Mixes philosophies of major religions into several things to live by and be aware of that will result in happiness.

A New Earth is a better read in my opinion. Honestly I'd just stop reading PoN and start ANE, it's a lot of the same content, but ANE is better in terms of actually applying it and getting somewhere.

Make jokes about you and her or something, I don't know man, just think about it, it's not too hard. But yes, don't listen to the voice, it's not you. It talks from years of seeing others trapped in their head and their actions, not what is really true. Look up Don Miguel Ruiz "The Four Agreements", it's a great short read that will help you reinforce that mindset.

Dude I don't know why you have to be so defensive about this. But yes, I'd say without a doubt happiness is more important. I'm not even sure if humanity should be helped, we're a plague to the Earth.

Well I'm here to tell you A New Earth is THE greatest "self-help" book you will ever read, seriously man. If you could 100% apply the principles in the book, you'd achieve total happiness. Believe a fellow redditor on this one, it's worth the read.

Exactly man, fuck the voice in your head. What 95% of people don't realize is the voice isn't even you. You are the consciousness, the awareness above the voice. The number one thing you can do is to be aware that it isn't you, and instead an immediate reaction of thought that's been trained over years. Yea you didn't handle the convo thatttt well but you didn't fuck anything up. I'd say next time you talk about something like that be flirty and see how she reacts, if she doesn't reciprocate you…

Yea man of course, build up to being confident in making a move. You'll hang out again, just invite her to do things. They don't have to be "dates" and shouldn't be, too much pressure. Invite her over for a movie or something. But it's just so much physical contact on her part that makes me say that. Yes, it could be how she acts with every guy. However, if it is she's used to guys making moves and knows that's what she's provoking. It won't even be a bad letdown, she'll be experienced. The only…

When you're laying there, it wouldn't be just hand on the high. A simple arm over her holding her would would the ideal move in my opinion. Then you pull her closer or move closer and lay there. Then she'd still lay there and you make a move. She got up and setup the laptop so YOU could play because obviously YOU didn't wanna do anything. It's not weird with the boyfriend. Yes, she has one and it would suck to be him, but if she does this with you it could be any other guy. It's unavoidable, so …

I'm fucked up at the moment, but it sounds like you played your cards not to badly. Definitely should've reciprocated all that kino on her part, if she's doing it to you in front of the roommate then go ahead too, just not too much. One of those times she grabbed you/had you close though and it was just you two you should've made the move. You definitely had it in the bed man, she was waiting for you to move closer. When she rolled to face you, you should've gone in for the kiss. Put a hand arou…
