Some of these comments are just anti female and not about men’s rights. We don’t have to tear others down to bring ourselves up.

I just hope people realize this and demand change before it gets too bad. The rich need us so much more than we need them.

Op is saying that both sides are defending billionaires. If you feel self righteous for choosing what you think is the “lesser of two evils”, well good for you. But from my perspective it’s all the same. Each side is brainwashing the people into believing that their side are the self righteous ones. And if you want to continue defending that, then that’s on you. Go be a dog for the billionaires.

Yep, the only choice you get to make is on social issues. Both sides are the same when it comes to corporate interests. Either choose the side that will cut taxes for the rich, or the side that will subsidize them. I’m sure it’s more nuanced than that, but it sure as hell feels that simple

Think for yourself, question authority. Always

I think that is a major flaw of the two party system. It’s ridiculous to assume someone’s views are black and white. Life is far more nuanced than that. If you think the name of a party or ideology has been stained, try and focus on the individuals within that party and carry along the ideas you agree with.

Maybe a sort of Social libertarian. I don’t think libertarianism could work economically though. We need checks and balances for monopolies and anti trust business models, and I like public schools. Im personally more progressive, but often find this ideology aligns with the social side of libertarianism. Mainly because they recognize each individual is different and it isn’t the role of the state to tell them how to live it. Whereas with the leading voices in the conservative movement, views of…

I hate this neoliberalism movement we’ve seen since the 90s. My positions are mostly progressive except for guns. I feel like our military budget is way out of proportion and could be trimmed of a lot of waste. We should be spending those cuts on reducing the deficit. It amazes me that deficit spending is even legal. I get overspending during an emergency, but it should be law that congress cant overspend past a certain threshold.

The flags is similar to a black mirror episode. Crazy having a rating system. Literally social credit

It is wrong to compare the suffering of others. Suffering is relative, It’s not a competition. Any statement like that will speak to their base, but at the same time isolate others. How hypocritical of me, but survivors of war are not the only victims of war. What about the men who didn’t come home? What about the men who lived? They saw the violence humans are capable of, they saw their brothers die, and we expect them to just come back and live a normal life? Most people would be scarred from …

Good point. Reminds me of the Bill Burr bit about women invading men spaces like in the nfl. They don’t want their own thing. They want our thing

I really disliked his debates since I feel it fuels our division, but one thing that may help you: People aren’t black and white. There are many layers to us, some bad, some good. The People right now saying he deserved it are only looking at one layer. Just as there was a layer that helped you feel understood, there was another that did the opposite and alienated people. Feeling understood is a powerful emotion, but just as powerful is its opposite; dismissal/rejection. He had other layers that…

Yeah that’s frustrating for sure. I try and give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the only reason they’re bringing up gender pay gap is because there is a lot of issues that they may not know how to properly express when it comes to gender equality. It might just be a pathway into a bigger picture, like the overall treatment of women in the work place. Idk.. Though the pessimist in me says that it’s just fake feminists who pretend to care about gender equality. That or uninformed people …

The amount of straw manning in this thread is crazy. Y’all are doing exactly what they do by misrepresenting their views. Be better

You’re right men never body shame other men for something that can’t be changed. It just doesn’t happen. xD

Yeah, but it’s also a lot of men who keep using it.

It’s so messed up considering his brother had the same problem and it resolved itself as he aged.

Should we be arguing for harsher sentences towards women, or lesser sentences towards men? I’m genuinely curious because I can see the angle both ways.

Y’all crazy. I’m surprised to see so much hate towards feminism. This shit is not a zero sum game, and you don’t lose when others gain. Instead of pushing down feminism, let’s use it to make awareness for the rights men don’t have. Your thinking is: “because men have it worse, women should have it equally as bad.” Our goal shouldn’t be to make sure everyone suffers equally, it should be to address our struggles and try to relieve them.

I think a big part is that men are a scapegoat for the inequalities society is currently dealing with. It’s easier to generalize and blame a group of people than it is to address the actual problem. It’s also easy when venting frustration to direct that towards someone. Another thing I’ve seen, is men getting shutdown when bringing up the problems that mainly affect men (such as mental health and suicide rates). For me personally, there is this hesitancy I feel when bringing up those things beca…

This is a good point! I’ll be sure to use it when people appeal to nature as an argument for this. Thank you.

I want equality more than an advantage over others. If that means helping those who have been systematically disadvantaged, then good. The goal of DEI is to solve inequalities that already exist.

Eh.. You can see how that went with segregation between white and colored. Separate but equal doesn’t work

Men are so starved for attention that this becomes a fantasy(?). Fantasies are far from the truth. Take the scene from “The Boys” where The Deep is sexually assaulted. That uncomfortable feeling is the true feeling of rape (imo), except it is much much worse. There is no comfort in that, only fear. The Sopranos is another good example. The discomfort those scenes bring are merely an ounce of what victims feel. Rape fantasies are fine, but most of the time the fantasizer is the one in control. I …

Posting my own thoughts before reading any comments. Being unable to express emotions is much more common in men. That leads to repressed anger and in turn, more violence. Another cause is just our evolution. Males are physiologically stronger. Testosterone increases the size of our bones and helps build muscle. Males can build stronger muscles easier and quicker compared to females. Males tend to be the protective ones of a group, so violence is a carried trait that has benefited us in the past…

This is such a huge problem that needs to be talked about more! I’m pretty sure women do attempt more though(?) Also the fact that Reddit and other social media sites block the word su*cide and difficult topics is so dumb. These things need to be talked about more. Disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed; talking about these problems comforts the ones suffering from it.
