It's funny that she's asked "Why's it so hard?!?" I bet that's how she categorizes most things, "hard" or "easy", instead of like the guy categorizing by "necessary", "not necessary", or "not a priority right now".

I'd love an outside job. I'm currently waiting to hear back from the city for the trash pick up job. That's my ideal: working outside, good exercise is built into the job, more than adequate pay, and it's a great way to escape the day-long chit chat and gossip of a typical office job.

I am not even afraid of being fired from my job. This is one of the most fantastic benefits of MGTOW. If I understand right, MGTOW doesn't just mean going our own way from women (no alimony/child support to pay), but from expectations in general, and there's almost no other sphere of life where we're meant to enslave ourselves to expectations than the job. As MGTOW, we can run the whole gamut. We can fulfill ourselves by building our own company, self-employment, or even finding satisfaction w…

I also don't like how ambition is almost exclusively limited to the sphere of career and income. If a person is content with a more modest sum, that frees him to spend any ambition in other areas, like creative arts, hobbies, volunteerism or self-improvement. As a whole, I think our society pays some lip service to the virtues of simplicity and freedom from the cubicle, but we largely never put it in action.

Not sure what's worse, the attempt at manipulation, or the run-on sentences and crappy punctuation. They use all the right words like "self-respect", "strong", and "king", but just in terms of worldly ambition without questioning the idea that we should or need to fight for anything other than self-determination. It's funny they use the word king in this. I just read a MGTOW(ish) poem that suggest a "king" is unattached to just the very things the r/offmychest person is praising. "You know…

I never understood the phrase "I'm embarrassed for you" until I saw my first pride parade, but man did I learn it. Maybe the parades had a place and purpose late 70s to late 80s or so, but the flamboyant and overt sexuality and ludicrous camp makes it nearly impossible to take them seriously (to the detriment of the more serious-minded gays and lesbians among them). I'm torn between pity and contempt for this guy. On the one hand, either he never had someone teach him to earn his own self-respect, or he had it beaten out of him. I think it's a fundamental lack of perspective. Most people truly want a mate, and have always been exposed to pair bonding as the default setting. What's weird to me is that it's commonly believed that on average women mature faster than men, sexually and mentally (I think that's the common consensus), so a younger woman with an older man (within reason) would make sense, yes? But they treat women as needing protection from the rigors of making their own decisions. So they simultaneously mature faster but can't decide for themselves? Seems odd.

It's always targeted at men just reaching the age of diminishing sex drive, and always stated in language about pleasing women. We don't "know what it's like" because we weighed the pros and cons of parenthood and decided against it. So not only do we not suffer the chosen stress, anxiety and boredom of raising kids, we also don't take on this unnecessary resentment of other people who opted for a different life. Is this mombie just allergic to happiness?

Wait, aren't transgender folk an even smaller minority than simple cross-dressers? So a marginally larger group is banned for the feelings of a marginally smaller group? Also, why would the transfolk be offended? If they can alter their own genitals and hormones, why should others altering their clothes, hair and makeup be offensive?

Of course, they won't believe that a man who *doesn't* chase them is disinterested. They'll read it like he's "intimidated" or "wary of commitment" or "gay" or an "incel". To them, those are the only possible causes, because they can't fathom there are men not enslaved to women.

I'm not sure why higher education is always included on a list like this. I won't be having kids, but even if I did, their higher education, if they wanted it, would be their own doing. Seems strange to me that it's almost assumed that the folks will be the ones to pay for it.

I appreciate this. I was fat for decades, and though I shouldn't have needed it, my friends and family (mostly men, but a few sisters, aunts and women-friends, too) gave me a kick in the pants to get my act together. I got a shit load of advice, some of the tough-love variety, some of the sweet-cajoling type, but the message was the same: "You're fat, and it's your fault. Fix it." This was only one example of an over-arching life lesson that I needed to learn: I'm responsible for my own life.

What gets me is how little self-awareness these folks have. If you make it clear that you prefer to be single or even just being currently single doesn't cause you any distress, they make it evident by their arguments and pleadings that it's their own projected distress they're worried about. What's even worse is that the ones who make the biggest deal out of someone staying single are the ones least affected by someone else's bachelorhood.

In this case, I'm OK with being labeled "sexist". I think a big problem is that leftists tend to blur the definitions of "sexist", "chauvinist", and "misogynist". A cop referral makes so much more sense than having a school in charge of such investigations. Do school officials even know how to investigate or penalize? Furthermore: Suppose it's a true case of rape or assault: the most a school could do to is expel, which isn't sufficient for a truly horrible crime. Suppose it's a false accusation: the most a school could do to is expel, which isn't sufficient for a truly horrible crime. Title IX is getting very badly misused.

I think Title IX is something in the U.S. Department of Education that somehow puts sexual crimes investigations into the hand of educational institutions, if they occur on campus.

Men can have good relationships because they genuinely care for one another's well being and have empathy. That's a great point! I'd like to add, though, that men can be close an and empathetic without being intrusive. I've had close female friends who either can't tell, or don't care, when I need time to myself or when I want to work out an issue solo. Not so with men: men can tell when I want solitude, or I can straight up say I want to work it out myself, and they both understand it and respe…

Ah, I think I get it. My gestural communication is still happening, even during my turn in the conversation to stay quiet and listen? So if that's what they mean, "carries more weight" in this instance just means "goes on for longer"? Edit: thanks for the explanation. I forgot to say thanks.

Nonverbal messages carry more weight than verbal messages. Not really sure what this means? "...carries more weight"? Does that mean nonverbal cues are more convincing? That they convey more information? I can see nonverbal cues maybe carrying more emotional information, but unless you're using a sign language, a monotone, gestureless conversation will still be easier to follow than a series of mere facial expressions, emotional gestures and nonverbal tones.

This is exactly the kind of shit that keeps me from joining any mob. I used to be the kind of moral panicking dipshit who'd jump on any manufactured outrage bandwagon because I didn't bother to listen and think for myself, and partly because I was afraid of being seen as sympathetic to rapists / racists / homophobes / pedos / etc. if I wasn't angry enough. That's one of my biggest gripes with psychiatry/psychology: its interference in court matters. If I'm on a jury, I want to see and hear evidence that a defendant did or did not perform the act in question. I hear that one all the time, but they don't seem to realize being fat affects more than just our sight. It's also the senses of feel and smell. Ever smell that musty, moldy essence coming off a very fat woman or man? There's bacteria in the skin folds. Their sweat has messed up chemicals and pheromones in it. The can't bend to wash themselves thoroughly. Then the tactile feel of excess fat under the skin is revolting to a lot of men. That's three senses men have to either ignore or retrain.

We've been getting the repeated dictum "Get in touch with your feelings" for decades now, and this seems like the natural result. Friendships between men (generally) are supportive without being intrusive. Friendships between women are nothing but intrusion and, to my way of thinking, excessive reliance on consensus. Kids extend their family lines with their own children. Yes, that's pretty much the definition of reproduction, but they failed to explain exactly why it's a moral imperative. Who, exactly, benefits if I get married and have kids? Who is harmed if I don't?

I'm honestly not sure if everyone is defining respect the same way. Does it just mean outer behavior? That would be better described as "courtesy". Does it mean the actual opinion and esteem you hold for someone? I think that's closer to the real meaning of "respect". I think "courtesy" is the default, and I think that's what most people want. "Respect" is harder to give, and sometimes harder to receive, because is doesn't always mean agreement and support. I think of opposing athletes who learn…

Longer lives. Men who get and stay married live almost 10 years longer than their unmarried peers. Also, young married men are about twice as happy: 43 percent of married men report they are "very happy" with life, compared to 20 percent of single men and 24 percent of cohabiting men. That "20%" bothers me. Do they mean 20% of unmarried men who want to be married, or just 20% of unmarried men? This study seems to be missing some info.

Maybe, but I'd say it's morally better than being in a relationship when you're ambivalent or reluctant. Say someone really wants to date/marry you, but you don't want to. At best, that makes the other person a pleasant adornment to your life, and at worst a burden to be tolerated. It's pure condescension to put the other person in either category. And this is without all the dangers of relationships so often discussed on this sub. tl;dr: If you truly don't want to be in a relationship, it's pro…

Not only is this gross and perverse, but these people have to know they're going to get caught. What's wrong with them?

Not so much sick of it, but amused by it. I like to count people glued to their screens when I go out. If nothing else, it's a good reminder to practice limiting your exposure to a potential crutch.

Some people just look for excuses to feel and act outraged.

Ok, I'll admit that before I saw this video, I'd always thought the image of the shrill, irrational feminist was a little overblown and exaggerated. I get it now. Lesson learned.

Thanks for the link. That explained a lot.

Thank you for the links. That's really eye-opening, and a little scary.

I think I see why, but how? Has the government in the U.S. officially, legally, on-the-books given universities the authority to do this? It seems so strange. The accused lack due process, false claimants have protection and in cases of genuine rape or assault, what power does the school have to punish appropriately? If it's a real rape or assault, expulsion seems like the most they could do, and that doesn't seem like enough.

I'm sorry, I'm still new to Men's Rights. Why do schools have any say in the investigation of sexual assault or rape cases? These are criminal matters, aren't they, for the police and courts?

He wishes to offer the court is most sincere apologises for being here. The court's not due an apology, the victim is.

I always found it funny that in my town, the local electric company places a full color newspaper ad at Christmas time thanking the people for "choosing" their services, when their only competition is gas-powered generators.

Sorry, can I have a definition or an example of a micro-aggression? I'm not clear on how it'd be different from harassment?

I've noticed in a lot of my female friends, especially the ones into the hippy-dippy self help crowd, that they'll use the words or concepts of "think" and "feel" interchangeably. They'll say something like: "I feel my boss doesn't take me seriously." It's weird to me because they're describing a thought rather than a feeling. She may not like (feeling) what the boss thinks of her, but it's a belief (thought) she's describing. More and more men are doing this too, especially the ones (I know of)…

I'm a big believer in living as simple a life as possible, and remaining single simplifies my life by at least 50%, if not more.

Ha ha! Social "science"! Seriously, though, I'm really confused by their reluctance to look at the evidence for inborn differences. From what I saw, the real scientists who looked at brain differences and evolutionary theory didn't even claim that men and women were unequally capable in different fields of work or study, just that they naturally tended to form interests along different lines. Same with gay/lesbian/straight personality and behavior. If biology influences mannerisms and behavior, …

I spend most of my free time outdoors, and go camping one weekend a month at a nearby camp ground. I've always planned on living away from cities and towns in my old age.

I don't want to be dependent on others to clean me, feed me or put me to bed, and I don't want to die looking up at a sterile hospital ceiling. I want to maximize my chances of dying under an open sky, so when age starts to set in and the body starts to decline, that means living near a suitable place and staying put.

I'm currently taking care of an aging grandmother, and sooner, than I like to admit, I'll be caring for an aging mother. Their dependence is what I fear the most for myself. I'll take care of myself as long as I can, then I'll let Nature take care of the rest. I'll maneuver myself as best I can to ensure that I die where I want, and arrange for word to be taken to my brothers and sisters about my death. I want to die in Nature, and God willing, I want to die peacefully, calmly, and bravely, but …
