See a lawyer. Without a prenup you might be screwed.

I had wild success dating after divorce. In hindsight I was way out of my wife’s league based upon the women I dated afterwards.

Exactly. Feminism is the greatest thing to happen to men. Men got liberated from the duty to provide for women when they got liberated to enter the workforce.

I don’t get married anymore. I learned the first time. But, if I’m in a relationship now I make sure they pay their way. Women work now and are “strong and independent.”

Agreed. I had a LTR with a divorced mom. I have kids, too. Ultimately, it was the kids that was the undoing of the relationship. You will be expected to care for them while not having any authority over them.

A lot of states, mine included, mandate CS until 18 or graduation from HS. If not graduated by 19 they end there. But, they end at graduation if already 18. If they graduate at 17 you still pay until they're 18.

Not my divorce. But, my ex-LTR who was a lush. Once I broke up with her a lot of the stress and friction went out of my life, along with her having alcohol around and drinking all the time, so I just began drinking a lot less. I'm now almost fully sober and feel great. My kids are much happier with me now.
/r/Divorce_Men10/04/24 04:20 PM

I went through similar. Our situation was that my ex and I both came from broken homes and we agreed to break the cycle. Well, after we had children she threw it all to the wind and wanted to go party again. She didn't give a shit, all of a sudden, about how a broken family would negatively affect our kids. Typical solipsistic narcissistic.

Sounds like it's working fine as long as you don't commingle finances. Draft up a cohabitation agreement. Neither of you are going to file for a modification of custody if you are living together. Do not remarry her. Why would you? Also, no child support should be paying by, or to, either of you since you live together with the kids. That's the only thing I would seek to change. If I was paying her CS while we are all still playing house that would be patently unfair.

They definitely tend to go wild now that they're "free" and also since they've usually disconnected from their husband months, or years, before actually filing for divorce.

I didn't. You didn't. The spouse who divorces cannot remarry. The divorced spouse is free to. Learn how to read scripture. I spent decades on it. And, don't use the NLT. It's the most watered-down translation ever to make it palatable to modern culture. I'm surprised it doesn't say, "sucking dick is not adultery."

If she makes 2.5x you then go for alimony AND custody. Your kids need a father. She'll probably end up paying CS, too. You'll be fine.

Congrats on the sobriety. I gave up a drinking a while ago, too. Major good life decision. You have the lawyer. Forcing the sale of the house will get you 50% of the equity so you'll have money to move on. Most important thing is getting custody so she can't withhold your kids from you. They need a dad.

Avoid the papers and get an attorney in place first. Let him know you're getting served. He will get ahead of this thing way faster than you will and it has to be dealt with. Once you retain him, and he files a Notice of Appearance then all service goes to him. Pay him to work.

My ex wife went on mission trips, we moved to another city, she found a new guy and rode the CC. So, she had to abandon the faith, ghost all her friends and most family, to not be an adultereress (which I still call her from time to time because she remarried and made my sons bastards). I no longer believe. But, it's fun to say sometimes since she was so devout and comes from a devout family. Money and dick beat Jesus in their 30s 100% of the time 90% of the time.
/r/Divorce_Men29/03/24 03:57 AM

The Bible says not to divorce. If a person divorces the spouse they are not allowed to remarry or they are in adultery. The abandoned spouse may remarry. https://biblehub.com/bsb/1_corinthians/7.htm I'm no longer a believer as I think it's ancient wisdom that applied to the time. But, if you and her ascribe to it them those are the rules in your playbook. Who filed?

Are you really surprised by this? It's the rare 10% of women that don't try to use the kids and weaponize time with them in order to clean your wallet out. File for 50/50 custody.

Same with single moms. Nobody wants to jump into a ready-made family unless they missed their window of building their own. I was a single dad for years and had no shortage of interest. Some had kids and some didn't. A single father telegraphs to women that you are stable, responsible, loving, and reliable.

Difficult spot. If no kids were involved I'd say to not go back. But, having children makes it a lot more complicated. You're going to have to put her on an accountability system with defined rules, markers of progress, etc. She will literally be on probation with you. In the meantime assume it won't work out and start making your exit plan. If she does live up to it then you can always abandon the exit plan. But, if you don't have one you could get caught with your pants down.

She doesn't know what state she "allegedly" got divorced in? The burden of proof is on her. Either way, sounds like you're walking away clean. Rejoice! Don't do shit. Move on with your life. If she comes back then fight that battle then. Right now you're in the driver's seat.

Dating, period, is an expensive endeavor. And, single moms are bad endeavors multiplied by the number of kids they have. So, if female companionship is absolutely necessary for you then just know you'll be dropping fork loads of cash for the experience. And, it'll most likely end, too. Right now you should focus on yourself and your kids.

Better outcome than most. If I were you I'd have itemized all the expenses, loans you had to take, CS and alimony you paid, and ask for a larger sum over 6 months. You were in a favorable place to negotiate seeing as she was already losing. Especially document her degenerate lifestyle during those years with social media. Women just can't stay off it. But, either way, she beats the $100k's I've had to pay over a decade. Also, why no

Ever thought about a surrogate? They won't have a mom, so to speak. But, if you get married they likely won't have much of a dad within a few years. Children do much better with a single father than a single mother. Statistics all lay this out. A surrogate is cheaper than a divorce.

Same. But, my refusal to leave led to her getting me arrested on a false DV charge and a TRO keeping me out. It was eventually dismissed. But, the process and cost to get it dismissed was harsh. Of course, nothing happened to her for filing a false police report or perjuring herself.

You're free to suggest he live a life of slavery and misery. I'd suggest he divorce and go for split custody. Women use children as pawns against men all the time. Why? Because they can. And, it's because of attitudes like yours. Trust me. I held on in a miserable marriage for the kids. In hindsight, I should've left her years before the divorce. But, it all turned out well. I ended up with full custody through some strategic legal maneuvering. You give up too easy.

Ah... either way, the rest of what I said was true. Once you get the Judgment of Satisfaction on the $4k the AG office will adjust your account. My ex did everything except try to change their last names. She knew I'd bleed every dollar we both had in court over that battle and she knows she would easily lose.

100%. I went through the same thing. But, I was a single father for years. Best years ver with her out of the way and it was just my kids and I.

This is family abandonment. She got bored of being a mother and wife, as did mine, and wanted to go live the single life. Pretty common. Be glad you have your daughters still. When my ex abandoned our family I retained full custody of all of our kids and she didn't even show up for Mother's Day.

The AG doesn't collect CS (mom support). The child (mom) support office does. You need to file a Motion for Satisfaction of Judgment for the $4k and "for any other such remedy as the court deems just." You need to request oral arguments unless you're good about writing and filing your own motions. Otherwise, if not, you'll need an expensive attorney to do this.

I disagree that he's the asshole. She full on gave him a manipulative, and strategically-planned, bait & switch.

You have to cut bait. You will eventually get divorced and the longer you're married the more messy and expensive the divorce will be with a woman like this.

You explained it perfectly. It's not according to law. It's according to the whims of the judge no matter the merits. I won in the end. I got her evicted and gained full custody while she rode the CC.

That comes in the Motion. She has to defend the motion. The judge can still rule she has lack of evidence. BUT, if you didn't specifically ask for the TPO to be dismissed, or add language in your prayers such as, "and other such remedy as the court deems appropriate" then they won't dismiss it. You didn't ask them to. Court, and the legal world, is very specific. The judge may well say, "I don't believe enough evidence exists to support the TPO. But, you only asked her to produce evidence. You d…

I've been in and out of family court for 10 years. I've had 2 attorneys and did half of it myself. I know the judges and their clerks. I've read the entire FCRCP. I sort of do know what I'm talking about.

Keep wearing the bodycam. Find a way to pay the attorney. Borrow from family if necessary. What you do now in the initial stages will affect you for a Very long time.

BS. All it took for my ex to get one was an accusation that I "bumped her." Meanwhile, 2 weeks prior she bloodied me, I called cops, they did nothing to her.

There are different levels of MGTOW. It's not a one size fits all philosophy. I simply do what I want now without regard for the demands, or limitations, or a woman. I would still date. But, it's on my terms. That is MY OWN WAY.
/r/Divorce_Men19/10/23 11:26 AM

You're not in contempt since it didn't happen in August. You could be an asshole and send her a notice to get the stuff, supervised, within 30 days or you will put it on the curb. Your best bet is to play with kid gloves and offer a time for her to come WHILE YOU ARE THERE and request a civil standby from police. Follow her and record her the entire time in your home. She does not live there anymore. If her attorney files a motion for contempt simply file a motion to dismiss motion for contempt …

I'm not a "retired Chad." I don't even use that term really. All it means is you are decent looking and have charisma. You can be a rich stock-broker or broke musician to get laid. This sub is full of men who can't get laid and like to take shots at guys who have no problem with it. Take ownership of your life instead of pointing fingers and having a pity party. You'll get a lot farther.

I'm a successful guy and when I look for a woman I look for a few things. Does she have a loving, kind, and forgiving heart? Is she a nurturer? Is she a homemaker? Is she great in bed? If she has those 4 things I'll do the rest.

Create your own life that you love to live. If that's video games then find a gamer girl. For me, it was a lot more so I had a lot of options. Still do at my age. They never go away. Women, now, are almost like flies I have to swat away. Create something they want. But, do it FOR YOU. Not for them. They can sense false ambition.

This is true. This is how I got custody. My ex played a dirty trick (false DV allegation and jail) to get herself custody. So, I said "fine." I rented a nice house for myself and stopped paying her rent. She got evicted and I got the kids while she had to me in with AP.
