We can hate big pharma all we want, but at the end of the day, they are the ones who spend billions into R&D, develop new drugs etc; it's a business in the first place, not a charity. Not all countries heavily subsidize medical services, especially, medical research which is very expensive (big pharma usually gives money to scientists on the premise that if they discover something good, the patent goes to the company who funded them); each year billions of $ is spent on research which doesn't re…

Dating indeed can be a fun activity, but one must manage their expectations and be patient. What I mean by this - if your 'pre-selection' skills aren't top notch, chances are a lot of these dates won't result into anything worthwhile, because (in my subjective experience) plenty of girls are very similar, not visually per se, but regarding their outlook on life, stuff like hobbies, interests, passions - something where I and girl can develop some sort of connection as a starting point. Just like…

This will probably get downvoted, but hear me out before you do so. Being in early/mid 30s myself, I've noticed that there are plenty of these desperate 35-40 year old dudes wanting to marry, make babies etc. I keep in touch with a couple of women who fall in this age bracket and they all say the same thing - another potentially perspective guy, but.. guy is rushing things - too serious, too soon; when these women, especially, if they have kids already - they just want to get their needs met (se…

maybe its different in the USA, but here in EE (eastern EU) since covid tinder is pretty active girl wise; the reason is most likely that now with all these restrictions etc. girls just don't have places where to expose themselves (shopping malls, night clubs, fancy coffeshops, fine dining places etc.); a lot just sit at home and are dying to go out, at least its a reason for them to wear nice clothes, put on some make up, you know? all the stuff girls like. for this reason i think covid has imp…

hey OP, you get downvoted here a lot, but I see where you're coming from. If you are interested in learning more about Islam, I suggest starting with the Mustafa Khattab's "The Clear Quran", which is .. a more beginner friendly interpretation of Islam that might be easier to read/understand. there was a time when I was actively obsessing over ... whether I should join a religion or not and just like you, Islam resonated with me the most.. once you start understanding it a bit, a lot of stuff mak…

You make a good point about 'not taking much to be above average', yet - wasn't things like this since the beginning? I'm lucky to have spent a lot of time talking with various old people (both of my grand parents turned 90 last month) and I get the impression that the only thing that has changed is peoples clothes. Also, consider the following example. Let's imagine you want to go to a gym. You have two options. One is a gym with "mediocre poeple" (average Joes). Other gym is full of Alphas wer…
