These may have also been the seemingly "normal" peers, but they were dealing with a lot at home. I also think its less about "strict" parents and more about parents who model and reinforce positive behaviors. Some strict parents (especially hyperreligious fundamentalist and/or narcissistic parents) can be just as damaging to their child's self-esteem. 10	Euphoria: libfem propaganda or thoughtful series? I think it does the exact opposite of glamorize all the things HS kids get into. There were 3 people in my smallish city that died from overdosing between ages 17-20. And a family friend got alcohol poisoning at 15. And many of us engaged in risky sex and abusive relationships. I think it’s a pretty honest show. Adults really don’t want to accept what their teens are dealing with, even when their friends are clearly not well. Which I think is one of the points.
