I've been with my "wifey" for 8 years. It is basically a marriage without the certificate and ceremony. My best friend has been with his gf for 12 years, not married either. Basically, imo i don't see the point in getting married, especially not with the current state of society and / or economy. It's pretty bad here in terms of the housing market as well. That besides the fact of finding someone compatible.

Yep, it's been like this in canada (Alberta here) for atleast 20 years from what i can remember, and the justice system is so fucked towards men as well, men are automatically not the caregivers most of the time in the courts eyes.

I literally asked for some proof on Twitter when this whole situation started, and everyone called me a sympathizer and an idiot... and that he's a piece of shit, abuser, psycho, pedo, etc. Now, look, charges dropped, but he lost everything already. This society is so fucked.

If you genuinely believe that, then you're better off cutting ties. If you can't be "yourself" with a so-called friend, that should tell you how one-sided the friendship is/was.

Poor little man, may he rest in peace, i hate seeing these headlines, but it happens every other day, and it's disgusting. The judicial system lets another family down.

My heart goes out to the guy. The whole situation is very sad and shows how flawed our justice systems are. That poor little dude should have never been around that fucking psycho.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
