How did you manage to achieve that outcome?

Basically, the perfect analogy! Thanks for that perspective.

Just came back from a two week vacation, so will have to plan that later on. But it will be a good idea. The problem is, on trips all is good. We have sex two to three times a day and live in fairyland, so most of the problems are hidden there. It is when back home during everyday struggle that the problems arise. Also, trips frustrate me with her because she suffer from Narcolepsy so constantly sleeps on those trips when we travel. Only awake during the crucial moments like arriving, or walking…

Still hot and has sex-appeal. She gets a lot of attention. A lot of times made me doubtful to want to leave. But yeah, I got over the "in-love" and infatuation phase around 2 years into marriage. Then I realized how incompatible we are and how many red flags there are.

Yeah, I suspect that. I actually tried so hard already to get her to, but she wouldn't. But yeah, knowing how people work, she will probably change her mind when her self-esteem gets better later on and she realizes how badly I wanted out. Then I may be happy with the marriage if the counselling works, then she maybe ups and leaves.

Yup. She is too afraid of losing me to do that, and always has been. She is also like other than being at home, around me or with me and phones me like 24/7. Like I have a dependent trailer following me around.

She is hot and has a huge amount of sex-appeal. Was super in-love and the lust, passion and infatuation made me blind to the incompatibility and the red flags.

We cannot connect on any level for interesting or challenging conversations. I find her terribly boring when alone together. The zero trust. She has always been jealous of females I just come close to, even cousins and friends wives when we bbq. I do not even talk to them, then afterwards always get accused of shit. She also always thinks I have bad intentions and planned intentions for normal actions and activities.

Yes, I am giving it another chance with another round of marriage counselling. But just a side note. She will always want to fix it. She is super dependent on me and still says I am her dream husband and she is living in her dream marriage. She will NEVER want to leave me, no matter what I do.

Nope. Her business not is a gym in our small town. It is just breaking even. She doesnt draw a salary from it. Before that, she opened a store that never really sold its original stock, and also started doing permanent make-up, but not really making even what the equipment costs back. The reason my family disagrees is only one. We don't have any divorce in the family, and they believe it is wrong to divorce no matter what.

Is your family accepting it now? Or do you just not care for their opinions anymore?

Thanks. Also what I am worried about and time is essential because we aren't getting any younger.

Thanks. That perspective helps with the kids. Because my whole family and wife says that all kids of divorce grow up worse than those whose parents stay in a marriage, even an unhappy one. Glad I got your opinion speaking from experience.

Also would not have told anyone. But she told my parents and sister.

I don't know if it can be salvaged and how my feelings that she is not enough for me to be happy with forever in my one life can be changed. She has made major changes in herself, but my love has not returned and my resentment towards her grows with every further conflict situation that we cannot resolve because of intellectual incompatibility.

Great advice. I needed this. Thanks. That analogy of the horses is real good and gives perspective. I agree, my life and my happiness is mine to live and my responsibility, nobody else is going to regret my life, only me.

Thanks. Never thought of going no-contact with my family. But it may definitely help if they do not support me and my decision or path.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
