Okay, so you spend, what, a weekend in jail while you get the bail money together, and then you go to court, and the prosecution has to prove you intentionally went into the restaurant knowing you didn't have the funds necessary for a meal. There's a difference between immediately trying to run before even attempting to swipe your card and swiping it, only to find out you either don't have the money, or something's wrong.
