I had some relatives that were notorious for coming out for family meals, knew they were to contribute to the total bill, order high priced food, then conveniently announce the man forgot his wallet and the woman forgot her purse, and they did that more than once. 🙄 They were never invited again after the 2nd time.

Back when I was dating, I ran into quite a few ‘users’ over the years that would usually be nice and such in the beginning, until they started acting like my time and money was their time and money. Probably another one of those people who can’t accept ‘nice guys’. One told me I was ‘too nice’ and broke up with me to be with a jackass with nothing going for him. Last I heard about her many years later, she was divorced twice, had 3 kids, and was single.

The sad part is that as long as I’d known her, I’ve always been considerate and treated her very well, going out of my way to assist her with work, have looked at her cars and wrenched on it some, and even been to her house and met her family. Maybe I was gullible........I guess my dad had influence as since I was a kid, he always made a big deal out of how you treat women, chivalry, and all that. You can add me to that list. There’s one woman at work, had been friends with her for 20 years, and after some bullshit she sent in an email and a few other demeaning emails, I don’t talk to her anymore. She asked me a few days later how long I’d be mad at her (I wasn’t mad, more of disappointed after being friends for that long). Boss tried to explain it away with the ‘metoo’ movement and I needed to just ignore it, well now I do, and her too. We aren’t friends anymore.

He’s an older guy who only finished 8th grade, then dropped out to support his mother. His neighbor and him are good friends and he does his finances now. You definitely can see looking at him today where all the money was going. We just can’t figure out what she was spending it on.

My sister in law did something similar to her husband. He wasn’t very good at math or finances and she always did them, but I always wondered where all the money was. She was a stay at home wife. They should have did OK on his pay for the two of them, but they were broke all the time mooching off of others.
