The point she's taking isn't about how she's making less money than him but how he's changing and she feels like she's being left behind. If the reverse were to occur the boyfriend would be just as justified to discuss how their relationship is developing. The girl is not arguing about the difference in salary between her and her boyfriend; she seems more preoccupied about how her relationship is changing and how their social circle and goals are distancing from each other. 1	School sends 11-year-old boy home because of his long hair - which he's growing to raise money for cancer charity. 'It is gender discrimination and sexism. Girls can have short or long hair, why can't boys? Even if she personally agreed it's not like she can go against her superiors to hire him (Considering it's a bank which are known for being dicks about dress codes).
