The next nearest high populated towns (Dallas/Ft. Worth, El Paso, and maybe Albuquerque) are roughly a 4-6 hour drive away from Lubbock.

Show some understanding of her situation, and accept the rescheduled date. If you can't make that day, then coordinate with her for another day. People have lives, and other priorities, and sometimes they get in the way of dating. I'd recommend keeping that in mind.

There's nothing "subtle" about not going to someone's birthday party. That's enough to tell me to move on.

If you truly wish to reset your sexual destiny, you must first purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka...

There are bums getting laid all the time, living of their girlfriend, borrowing their car, etc.

Of course it isn't, but it isn't all that necessary either. There are plenty of "intelligent" men who completely fail at courting women, and plenty of "not-so intelligent" men who have little issue pulling women. Charm doesn't always require a lot of intelligence, is my point, which the other guy clearly didn't understand. But if he really stood on his belief, then he probably wouldn't have deleted his posts.

Would you mind explaining to me how? I guess I'm too illiterate to understand such things.

It doesn't take a PhD to be good at talking to women. If women aren't responding to your "smooth" advances, then it might be more your problem than theirs.

Okay, but what exactly does this have to do with "smooth talking"?

Sure, if you say so.

Or maybe people have gotten better at seeing through bullshit.

Telling some to be a naturally funny person is good advice, but it comes with one problem: The person needs to be naturally funny.

Talk about some of the same things you would with anyone else. It helps a lot when you both already have some chemistry, the conversations naturally flow when you do.

Yep, even a conventionally attractive man can easily turn any woman off by saying something stupid or creepy. Personality truly does matter.

Being physically attractive can get you attention, but it's everything else that'll keep that attention.

Sounds like you need to take a break from dating for a while. Also therapy.

I don't believe "being yourself" is really the issue. How you present yourself is important, as well as how much of you is presented in each interaction. It's a weird balance to keep up with.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
