In the past, I've mixed in German Volume Training with my 5x5. My focus was the bench press. The goal was 315lbs. I usually stalled at 280-290. Mixing in the GVT took me from 280lbs to 315lbs in 4 weeks. I cannot stress this part enough - Mentally focus on muscle engagement. There is a different between "lifting" and "moving weight". 10x10 at 175lbs, or 8x8 at 205lbs was the go-to for GVT depending on how I felt that day.

IF, which is not unlike a mini-ketosis, works really well. You basically force your body to feed on its own fat stores. I'm not actively lifting, but I do a lot of physical labor and watch what I eat. Funny thing is, once you get passed the hunger hump, you really don't get hunger pains because your body is constantly eating itself. I'm not walking around looking like a 4% body fat, gym rat, Adonis, but I'm sure as fuck not ashamed to take my shirt off. High protein, moderate fat, low carbs.

I have insurance. The building payment of $420 is offset by by a single unit. People don't get to fuck with me for 4 months. The entire eviction process takes 25-30 days and costs about $250. The leases are month-to-month and the tenants aren't sophisticated enough, or wealthy enough, to drag out some absurd legal battle.

This is only labor intensive in the beginning. I'm doing this for two reasons: 1) build a relationship and reputation with the tenants, and 2) there are certain things I want to get right, that I'm capable of doing myself, that will improve the property. I make eye contact with the locals and acknowledge their existence. I'm also 6'2 ~240-250lbs and bench/squat over 300lbs (not great numbers but I'm formidable). There's a drug house on the corner and "corner boys" walking the streets. I've had positive interaction with the neighborhood thus far. I kick work to the local dudes and try to be a positive influence on the overall quality of life of in the area. And if all else fails, two the chest in 2.5 seconds.
