That’s why I started running again. I always feel mentally better afterwards, though sometimes physically tired. Plus it gives my dog something to do other than lie around all day.

I second this. Also one of the main reasons for my divorce.

Wow. Sounds a lot like my relationship with my son. He’s 15 and more nerdy. But I tell him to not let society define who he is. That’s his job. Be kind and respectful to all and do what makes you happy. Comments from your ex sound like an echo.

After my first and last divorce, I’m going full on MGTOW. Now I’m in the process of teaching my 15 year old son the same. Our happiness and well being as Men needs to be our utmost concern.

Hell no! She gets enough money between alimony and child support for me to think about spending anything more on her.

Sorry, bro. I have no experience with that.

My ex and I only communicate with the big issues. We have different schedules and responsibilities so the little things are left up to our son to take care of. ( he is 15 )

We have a lot of similarities in our situations. But like the others have said, try to focus on you and your son. That’s what I try to do every day. Some days are better than others, but I know what I want is to be the best father I can be to my son. You have to try an ACCEPT what is happening and not expect anything.

I have made amends to her on two occasions. Once was early in sobriety and the second was last month. Letting her know of my wrongs has been a great relief for me. She hasn’t reciprocated, but I can’t let that stop me from getting and being better.

My XW does the same thing to my son. He’s 15. He calls me “Dad” or “My Dad” depending on the circumstances. I’m pretty sure it’s a power / control thing she has adopted. I just don’t react to it. My job is to be the best father I can be for my son. Whatever label I get from others is unimportant.

Hate is a rather strong word, but I seriously dislike my ex. She left me when I hit rock bottom. My son is stuck with her do to legal issues. But at least I see him most weekends.

For me it has been getting better with time. The last year was absolute hell. I hit rock bottom and she left with our son. I wake up everyday and remember I don’t have to think about her or the past. I try to focus on the present and strive for my future. I have to be the best me I can be now, for myself and my son. And if it bothers her that I am completely different, then bonus.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
