And the replies are always full of "it's not a big deal, men are visual, it isn't cheating, it's just fantasy, stop being so insecure" because how dare a woman have a boundary that doesn't serve men.

Exactly! The sooner these pathetic MGTOW men go extinct, the better.

First off, can we be friends? Second, thank you for this. I've lived this myself. There is nothing to be gained from arguing with men. An example: my ex had me running in verbal circles trying to respond to his "logic" to prove my point. I realized that it was pointless. His "logic" did not exist. He thought of himself as perfect, the epitome of rationality, he was in finance, a numbers guy, so sMaRt. Plot twist, this dude was full of shit. He thinks he is immortal and barely ever brushed his te…

Same. I also swiped left on guys that mention any sexual stuff in their profile, ranging from the ones describing how kinky they are, the ones whose entire personality is being dominant (aka abusive), to the ones offering booty rubs (wtf even is a booty rub and why would they think that's a perk?!). I've also learned that "open minded" = non-monogamous but they wait to tell you that until you've been messaging a while. Basically, swiping on OLD is like visiting the local dump and staring at all …

So true. No matter their age, in fact it probably just gets worse as they get older.

This perfectly describes over 90% of guys on dating apps. Also prevalent: lack of grooming, obvious hatred of women, and extreme entitlement.

It's all wasted effort anyway. The guy will never be anything close to the man she deserves. So at the end of that emotionally draining rainbow there's no pot of gold, just farts and dorito dust.

By recognizing this, and keeping your boundaries firm, you're giving your future self one of the greatest gifts ever! I can't tell you how much I wish I had your wisdom when I was 20. Sending you love and respect sis.

Yes! Ladies, please know that any time someone uses this bullshit line on you, this is what it actually means: - They know whatever they did is wrong. - They do not respect you. - They lack integrity. - They are full of shit. - They are comfortable trying to manipulate you.

Despite knowing damn well what they've said is hurtful, they use the excuse "it's your problem for reacting that way". No accountability, no empathy.

Some pickmes justify being in a FWB situation by saying they are completely okay having casual no strings attached sex. Some even act like this is empowering and act smug like they've figured out a way to topple the patriarchy using their vagina. From what I've seen they end up spending a lot of time trying to decipher mixed signals, and getting their feelings hurt by the FWB that predictably treats them poorly while banging other women. That is not empowerment. That is tricking yourself into th…

Please don't beat yourself up too much for believing in someone that wasn't worth it. You made a decision that you felt was right at the time, your heart was pure. And now that you've seen the truth he can't take advantage of you anymore. I'm proud of you for ending it. That takes strength! You got this sis!

There's also the "Just in town for one night". Oh great, so you flaunt your worthlessness everywhere you go then! LVM, carnival style.

Yes. And have you ever noticed that the people who would consider this mean (it's not) are completely fine with hurting you, gaslighting you and treating you badly? Not protecting your boundaries only worsens that imbalance.

Nothing but pure truth here. What's more is you may not like the person you become if you stay. No matter how much you lie to yourself, there's no peace that comes from staying. You'll always be on high alert because you'll never really forget what that person is capable of doing and any day, at any time, the other shoe can drop. Even though you may not think you have enough strength to walk away, it's worse trying to forgive yourself later on for staying.

Right? How brainwashed they must be to actually be proud of that. These Cool Girl Pickmes are also the type to defend that behavior because "men are visual and can't help it, and it doesn't mean he isn't still attracted to me". I wonder if they still think that when their dude's dick doesn't work anymore because he's so pornsick.

Thank you :) I'm thankful to FDS for being a community of amazing women and a voice of reason in the midst of so much pickme influence elsewhere.

Yes! Thank you for this! My ex is a great example of this. He hated everything that made me an individual instead of an interactive version of a porn star. My hobbies? Stupid wastes of time according to him. My pets? Annoying, why spend money on them? Anything that made me feel joyful? He had a biting comment that would bring me back to reality. My sense of humor? I wasn't funny. He hated me, truly hated me. I have no idea why he proposed to someone he hated so much. But, what he did enjoy was t…

And even if a guy offers commitment, he can still not actually respect or care about you. My ex fiance seemed like a great guy but I learned the hard way that he was just the same old trash underneath his deceptive surface.

"If you made me a to do list I would help out" - my ex. And I'm just wondering who the fuck makes my to do list? No one, because I'm an adult and know how to take care of household chores unlike him, who apparently hasn't moved past the toddler stage of life skills. Oh, but he always managed to remember to buy beer.

My ex fiance told me he thought I was bipolar because I was hurt about him emotionally cheating on me. This is one of many techniques LVM will use to shift blame off themselves and on to their partners. I am so glad I kicked him out of my house and my life.

Exactly. How is it smart to fully rely on a man financially? Even if he is high value and fully committed to the relationship, he could still become ill or lose his job. That financial support is not guaranteed over your entire lifetime. Smart women understand that financial independence is important.

Love this so much! We have to be comfortable making others uncomfortable when they cross our boundaries. It can be tough at first, since it goes against so much of our social conditioning. But there is so much power in refusing to take any shit. Plus, a majority of them take politeness as a sign to keep going. Nope, shut it down. Make them uncomfortable, because that is what they get for underestimating us.

I see that a lot too, and also the profiles where they say they're looking for a woman who doesn't take herself too seriously. What they really mean is they're looking for a woman who is okay putting up with all the bullshit that dating their pathetic ass entails. Nah, pass. I do appreciate that they are that obvious though, makes for quicker swiping.

I just experienced this. My guy "friend" also went through a break up recently and somehow invented the idea that he had a shot with me. This led to a bizarre conversation with him whining about his ex while also sprinkling in comments about how he found me very attractive, how he hopes I don't mind that he checks me out and also how much he likes me. Oh, and he also ranted about how much he respects women haha. Clearly. He got upset with me for acting differently around him at a New Years Eve p…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
