There is, and should be, a presumption of innocent until proven guilty. However, getting off on a technicality in a rape case isn't the best outcome.

In reading about this story I at first sympathized a Prof. Lebow. It seems this was a situation which was blown out of proportion so as to be reported. Had the Prof simply fought the claim, it is likely he would have prevailed. However, by antagonizing the person who made report, his harmed his own cause, and potentially made himself look aggressive. What, this is to kra to believe. My dad has worked his ass off to build a successful business and make sure his children and family have more than they need. If anyone suggests to me that I shouldn't honor my father, id give them an open handed smack in the face.
