I'm never gonna be able to take stuff like what the Twitter user said seriously after learning about the world of dark romance and the events at Sinners and Stardust.

How do people send some of the most rotten, depraved stuff you’ll ever see on the Internet and then think to themselves “I’m such a good person for saying this?”

Where was that? I’d be interested in hearing Dadvocate talk about this, too.

It's even worse when men say that, because you know for a FACT that they'd never want to go to risk going to jail for something they were falsely accused of. It reminds me of when people say stuff along the lines of "just respecting women" so you or they don't get falsely accused. That statement feels like victim-blaming of the falsely accused person and assumes multiple things about the victim's personality but forgets that all it takes is running into the wrong person regardless of who you are…

The problem is the girl who made the Twitter post who is angry that the person didn't mention misogynists when they were talking about misandrists and homophobes. It comes off like being upset that someone's attention isn't on you 24/7 or trying to call people out widespread bigotry.

That sounded disgusting. I'm so sorry you were invalidated like that and disbelieved. They shouldn't have even asked for your DMs in the first place. Yeah, women can be predators as well. I wish people would recognize that more often and do more about it. I hope you stay safe and protected, dude. This does also show me how easy it is for younger generations to be influenced by messaging a lot of people older than them are feeding them. If our society made it clear that victims of all kinds were …

This feels like a post from someone who's angry they cannot get a man they consider attractive so they're trying to make other women and men more miserable.

About the first one, I don't think that's really a bad thing. I guess what matters is what gets defined as a pedophile. Is it just those who actually commit crimes or those who feel attraction but make sure not to act on it or seek help? I fully support castrating the former, but the other is something that I'm more mixed on. While children should never be put at risk, I have wondered if rehabilitation is a better way to treat people who may have a problem but really don't want to act on it. Hon…

First, I'm glad you were able to move away and move on in a way that makes you feel better. I can't imagine how bad it felt if those memories were blocked or lost due to how stressful they were. I'm so glad you're feeling mostly human for the first time in your life. It means a lot for being comfort, and I hope it can stay that way. I also hope you've found people who accept you for who you and make you feel human as well.

Something I've learned is that a lot of people with blue checkmarks by their names who post inflammatory content like this are trying to farm engagement in order to get money from Twitter. The best thing to do is often to ignore them.

Could you bring up any of those sources, though? I just think they would help us gain a full picture. Like, maybe I could have been biased earlier, but I still would like to know what extra sources exist. It's also not nitpicking because we're talking about rape specifically and the number/percentage of perpetrators. We need to know how rape is defined in order to understand what the data means. I think the problem is that they talked like men are the only ones who commit rape on a large scale, which is a bias that ignores the large amounts of male victims and female perpetrators. As OP said, they looked at her all confused when she said anyone can be a perpetrator, which demonstrates how they have a preconceived notion of the crime.

People call us childish, incels, or other sorts of arguments for being into video games, comics, anime, collectibles all the time, so I don't know what this TikToker is saying. Not exactly related, but my mother calls me gay or childish for collecting things or having keychains, but never complains when it's my niece having them despite her almost being an adult.

Exactly this that you said. It's not "catering," it's just not being a jerk to people for how they were born or for things they cannot change. Because it's not fair for someone to be treated like they're evil or dangerous just because they're male, cishet, white, etc.
/r/EverydayMisandry03/07/26 10:47 PM

Those last two really struck a nerve with me. Even as a Black guy myself, people who think discrimination or bigotry against other people even if they're white or male is never appropriate and just makes me angry.

And when people complain about men not speaking up, they'll just say "patriarchy this, men's fault that..." Meanwhile, you have people making content like this or implying that male victims don't matter since men are their biggest perpetrators rather than women. That last part isn't even true if you do a modicum of research into modern statistics. Ok, I am so tired of this idea that women only use less violent methods and attempt more when NO data proves that definitely. If you look at data from the CDC using their Wonder search platform, there are more male suicides for every single method (unless you get into specifics like which substance was used for self-poisoning), even the “less violent ones.” People really need to stop thinking that rates alone tell the whole story, because that’s like saying 50% of 100 is greater than 10% of 1000…

This really sounds like it's coming from someone who's mad she isn't in a relationship and wants to dump on people who are in relationships under the guise of protecting women. I also never understood how people who make statements like this don't realize they're infantilizing women by acting like they have no agency over their decisions or capability to think for themselves. Or they say that marriage keeps them from reaching their full potential. It's a choice just as much as it's one to be sin…

You gotta feel bad for this child. He was just born and people are already treating him like I'm a problem. Who knows how bad it will be for him growing up? His mother seems to be aware of how bad it is, though. I think she can give him the love necessary to raise a strong, healthy person, since she's aware of her potential shortcomings and biases and how others may treat him. So she has the potential to be a great parent.

I don't know why you're getting downvoted since you're right. As irritating as radical feminist rhetoric, misandry, and double standards are, most people are just misguided, misinformed, or actually are supportive. It doesn't really help us to spread what we dislike ourselves by negatively generalizing women.
/r/MensRights01/05/26 10:13 AM

Doesn't a response from them like "you can't compare because trans aren't inherently violent, but men are" in a way kind of imply they think that trans women aren't real women (and may be inherently dangerous due to their assigned sex) and trans men are different from real men (or may be as bad anyway since their gender is male or they may want to get operations)? It just sounds kinda transphobic to me, but I may be wrong.

As someone who felt something similar, I can't help but feel bad for this guy. I hope he gets the help he needs and gets supported by people who won't dehumanize him. As someone who has worked in childcare before and is sometimes the only person in the room making sure kids are OK when I'm at public events, I would trust the men who are feeling motivated to become fathers from this with kids long before I ever trust the people who accuse this game of being for predators. At this point, the best thing you can do is just enjoy yourself, go on your way, and avoid engaging with people who sling accusations and buzzwords like that.

There's also the fact that it's a person's responsibility to make things as clear as possible to the people they're talking to. People are going to take what someone says at face value, and it really doesn't take any effort to make sure you're "just" talking about abusive or bad men. Someone can't just assume people should know and then get mad at them when they don't. You're a smart girl by the way. The world needs people like you.
/r/MensRights04/04/26 03:23 AM
19

There's also people who will say that if you get angry at statements like "all men are X, Y, or Z," then you secretly must be one of the people the person who made that statement is talking about, which doesn't make sense. That'd be like saying the only reason a person would get mad at me calling them a thief or murderer just because of where they were born or what their race was must would be if they really are a thief or murderer. But an accusation or assumption like that is flawed, because it…

You'll hear that in the US, too, despite more men dying from self-poisoning over here anyway. They're referring to rate it's used being higher in female suicides, but they forget rates aren't the same as numbers. So them saying women attempt more feels disingenuous.
/r/MensRights26/03/26 01:33 AM
3

I'm pretty sure in the US at least there are more male suicides for most, if not every, method than there are female suicides. People are misled into believing that suicide attempts and attempted suicides are the same thing when it's more accurate to say attempted suicides are just attempts that didn't end in death and the person had to go the hospital for it and called it a suicide. Not to mention they can get conflated with self-harming without the intention of suicide, too, which messes up th…

That all sounds very painful. You don't have to apologize for getting angry, so don't worry about that. I'd feel the same way if I went through all your experiences. I know me saying this may not help the most, but please, you don't deserve to hate yourself nor should you feel like you did anything wrong. But I said that I do consider it rape because he never consented. But the law may not consider it so if that's something they're worried about. It's a problem that rape against men are subjected to these definitions instead of it just being as simple as whether they consented or not. There are many states where they use outdated or biased definitions like the ones I mentioned here. I can understand why you're angry, but I promise you I wasn't trying to invalidate his friend's experience. I guess…
/r/MensRights25/03/26 06:54 PM

Ethically I'd say it is simply because he never consented to sex. But legally it depends on state jurisdiction, since some may not consider it as so when it's female-on-male, or they say that he would've needed to be penetrated or been made to penetrate. It's never easy opening up to another person about such an experience, so I hope your friend is doing OK.
/r/MensRights24/03/26 03:18 PM
7

No one is defending that. We're just saying that it shouldn't be allowed regardless of identity, and a lot of us tend to find larger swathes of content of women doing it to men, as well as people justifying it or excusing it.
/r/MensRights24/03/26 02:54 PM

I'm just really annoyed with people trying to paint this as a man-only thing and treat all names in the Epstien files as convictions, yet conveniently ignore all the women in the files and don't talk about Maxwell, who some of the victims say was even worse than Epstein. People don't care about what victims say, do, or think so long as they know they can use it as a tool to punish the opposing team, both when it comes to politics and gender.

/r/MensRights01/03/26 02:15 PM

Honestly, the more I look into the data, the more I'm starting to doubt that women attempt more statement, even if female suicides are just as important. Because even in the methods that see higher rates of death among women, the difference in amount of deaths was very negligible, and the men saw higher deaths in most methods across the years anyway. People just act like 50% of 1000 is higher than 10% of 10,000 (not the real rates but to give an example).
/r/MensRights24/02/26 02:14 PM

Rape doesn't only require a perpetrator to penetrate with what is between their legs. They can also use fingers or manual instruments/objects. What happens to men more often is being made to penetrate, which is as its name implies, a crime where the perpetrator forces their victim to penetrate them.

Don't worry. I'm not arguing it isn't. My intention was to point out how being made to penetrate not being counted as rape is unfair, but I admittedly didn't do that very well. I see. Thank you. I've been using data from the CDC to get information like homicides, suicides, and SA against men so far, along with other studies and sites. Is it generally unreliable?

I wasn't trying to argue that men get assaulted more, but merely that men are getting assaulted/penetrated at a shockingly large rate, much larger than he suggested. Basically, this started in the comment section about a post where people were talking about Uber allowing women to get only female drivers, and their response to people calling it discrimination was... I've been thinking about multiple: one about male suicide, one about male DV, and one about SA. For every year from 2018 to 2023, the suicide rate was significantly higher than the homicide rate. Heck, in 2018, it was more than double. People who make light of suicide like this are absolute scum, utterly incapable of putting themselves in the shoes of someone who believes that ending it all is the only thing that can be done. Just as bad as the people who call suicide selfish or say that they're going to Hell for it. Sorry if I sounded too emotionally charged. It's just a topic that hits w…

So a woman wanting a man who is a virgin is her wanting to hold him accountable. A man wanting a woman who is a virgin means he wants to do bad things to children. What is the logic there? She's probably just coping and seething that men don't want her or pay attention to her, whether it's because of her attitude or her body count. Like those women who will call a man gay if he turns her down for sex or doesn't want her. Also, isn't she indirectly calling a lot of asexual people abusers as well?

I remember getting mass downvoted once because I said we shouldn't compare people's pain and how it helps no one, especially male and female victims of SA and forced penetration.

I remember a female VTuber saying that if the pay gap actually existed in the way a lot of feminists describe it, then companies would hire only women, and I think she was right on the money. Some people know this but really don't want to admit it because it doesn't help their narrative.

I pointed out to a couple on people earlier today in YouTube that... The most successful method for women, which is poisoning, is still more successful with men than women. Saying that it's because men are more likely to choose "violent" methods is a form of victim blaming and invalidating people's pain. You're treating them like they're naturally violent people and almost like their death is their own fault.

It looks like, if anything, the people there recognized it was terrible and didn't discriminate. It's simultaneously good, but also sad, that teenagers have a better understanding of why SA is wrong than a lot of grown adults.

God damn it. Poor Tom. I hope things have gotten better for him now, but I feel like this si going to haunt his record forever. It's not fair it's nto fair it's not fair. And he was only 12 years old. Why are kids that young having sex or interested in it in the first place? Why are people so darn quick to not hear people out even when they're children?

So once again, the real enemy isn't the other gender but the ones with power over the over 95% who can't do anything, won't do anything, or are actively trying to make everything worse for the ones below them.

God, almost everyone in that chat is so infuriating. Whether it's the women using all types of mental gymnastics to shift blame away from her and put it on the men. "Her dink must have been spiked," "It's their fault for not getting her home," "The booze made her do it" "This is a double standard because it happens to women in so many cases and no one cares" (that last one is a big fat lie) The disgusting men simping over her and making fun of the men who were assaulted by saying they were overr…

First, it's disgusting what this person keeps doing to you, and I hope you are OK. Second, aside from the teacher, have you tried notifying anyone else in the higher-up like a principal/dean or reporting to the police? I really hope she leaves you alone.

I'm really sorry that you went through such experiences and hope you're doing OK now years later. Like you said, it's just sick and infuriating how people treat child abuse.

Thank you. I signed the petition and donated some money so it reaches more people. I'm wishing you the best, sir.

I am so sorry for you going through this. I saw from another comment that you are planning to stay with your grandmother. Please stay strong and safe. You haven't done anything wrong, and I hope you'll be alright.

Wanting too little? Could you go into more detail about this please, since I admittedly don't like the idea of sex and fear that being used against me somehow.

My heart goes out to you, dude. I have a family member who lost his part-time job because of it. If you do not mind me asking, what has life been for you since then? How is work and what happened to the girls afterward?

Or that children just browsing the Internet or are being taken care of by her are exposed to her views. She herself stated that her beliefs are not due to trauma or bad experiences, but rather she just thinks men are lesser because that's just how it is. It's like someone who's never had bad experiences with people of a certain race growing up hating that race for no reason other than that they were taught to.

I don't care what anyone says I should do, say, or feel. I will NEVER hate myself for being born a man, and I will never hate others just for being men, either. This lady in the post is a worse person than most of the men I've met in my life.

"Young men have a natural urge to rape." "Young men are dropping out of college because they're misogynists." "The male suicide rate needs to be higher." And people wonder why they go to the manosphere circles or just don't care anymore.

That's messed up beyond belief. Both what that adult woman did it to you and the ones who gave you those threats. I wish I could give you a big hug.

I already hated when I heard people online say male loneliness doesn't matter, and now I'm especially infuriated by it upon reading these statistics.

True. I'm not denying that. I just wanted to point that out in general. It's unbelievable that they cannot see the effects of what they're doing.

It really bothers me when people treat abortion like a ‘delete button.’ For a lot of women and girls, abortion isn’t casual is something they turn to, but rather because A) they were victims of rape B) they don't want to be ostracized, abandoned, or judged by their community or family C) they don't feel emotionally ready to be mothers D) they want to focus on their careers or education first E) they can't afford to raise a child safely F) it's the only way to protect the life or health of the gi…

Just because he's a professor doesn't mean he's intelligent enough to know how people work. I wish these people would actually try to talk to young men to see how they feel instead of just calling us accusing them all of being bigots.

Rape does not HAVE to be about physical force. Weapons, accomplices, emotional blackmail, threats that they'll hurt someone you care about, authority over you as your caregiver, instructor, or boss, the victim not even knowing if they were raped or not, the victim mentally freezing up in the moment, etc. There are way too any cases where people, whether they be men or women, are taken advantage of for reasons that have nothing to do with strength. And even then, I know laws are different dependi…

Using statistics from the CDC study on Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Violence, and Stalking Among Men: That first statement is only if you don't include being 'made to penetrate' under rape. If you do, then: 79% of male victims of being made to penetrate reported only female perpetrators. 53% of male victims of unwanted sexual contact reported only female perpetrators. 97% of men who experienced rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner had only female perpetrators. Nearly …

Your experiences sound absolutely terrible. I really hope that you've been able to get support from others who are close to you since then. You don't deserve to go through that type of pain, and you deserve all the help to deal with it that is possible. As an aside, almost nothing grinds my gears more than people assuming men always want it and that men can just fight women off. The images in this post detail a lot of the different ways women can take advantage of men: https://www.reddit.com/r/M…

What makes you say men are more likely? I didn't say this in the post, but why is people's reaction to get me to fear men more or fear them just as much as women? Like they see it as a personal attack against them and want to correct it, because it hurts their feelings or does not align with their perspective.

I don't expect every woman to. That's honestly my fault for not elaborating, and I apologize there for not being fair. I just don't know who to trust, and that is what gets me afraid. At this point, do I have to become a victim myself if I don't want to be delusional by the way?
