It really comes down to personal preference. I only train MMA, so this may not 100% apply to you. One thing I've noticed though is whenever Gi guys drop in for a class, they are a little lost at first because they've lost their handles. Their game falls apart because they're dependent on collar grips, sleeve grips, pant grips etc. Also, they're not used to getting punched in the face when grappling. Agreed. Intensity vs Time. You can either have a long workout or you can have an intense workout. 45 min of 100% is better than 2 hours of 50%.
