Well you fucked up, condolences. There may be a time or two when you salvaged some crazy hookup with the perfectly timed, perfectly composed text. You'd be a fool to count on texting to be some salvation though; get a date. If she flakes a few times, you move on. If you're text game isn't reserved for plans and casual in-jokes (that you've joked about in person) then you've fucked up.

Do you have a date with her?

Yea I'd move on. Work on 'You.' until you can confidently ask a girl out for a tentative date. Read books, gym up blah blah blah - do all that but also have the reserve and self-respect to shoot the shit with a cute girl and realize that all you did was talk, and that may be all she was looking for. Sometimes a "Hey I had fun, it was nice meeting you, I hope to see you around!" is as effective as getting a number. Make sure you put yourself out there in your own venue - look for events you're go…

If you want to see a girl again, be forward with it when you get her number. Bars are where people go to FEEL social, they aren't always looking for anything other than chit-chat. You want plan, or plans to make plans, not a plan to text. Numbers mean diiiiiiiiiick. What sounds more enticing: "Hey I've had fun talking with you, can I have your number?" Or: "Hey I've had fun, there's some cool stuff coming up this week, want to meet up soon and see a show?" Then just open up the newspaper and see…

Just go for the date. "Hey, I'm having fun talking with you, let's grab a drink sometime soon." As soon as you reach the point where you're totally comfortable asking somebody out, you'll start seeing ALL SORTS of opportunities opening up. And as soon as you reach the point where you don't take each and every date seriously, you'll start seeing women in a whole new light. They want sex and companionship as much as men do, they just have to be more careful in vetting their matches. Asking a girl …

If you feel that you're being deceitful by not divulging every little detail, then sure, go ahead and tell them early on. If you're truly JUST casually dating, you aren't being inherently dishonest by not immediately disclosing that. Think of it this way - I had chlamydia about 6 years ago, and now that I get screened regularly, I certainly don't feel dishonest about NOT disclosing that; it's in the past, it's not an issue any more. Basically, if you feel like you're being dishonest, go ahead an…

Yea but that is bullshit - if you and her are having funny, interesting text conversations (and it's not hard to do if you're at all witty and interesting) then you should continue to do so. Thinking of it as a stand-in for meeting up in person is where people go wrong - you probably won't ever text your way into a physical relationship, but texting back and forth is a totally fine way to keep up communication if you're both enjoying it.

Only before you've had your first date. Once you've gone out with somebody and you know them a bit, texting is fun.

This is a lie you're parroting, and Models has made it seem like 'The Ultimate Truth' and it's FRUSTRATING AS SHIT to read over and over again. Never plan on texting your way into a girls heart, but guess what? If you guys were flirting and joking around, and you see something that reminds you of your conversations, texting her a joke-y text is fun for the both of you. So long as you're also making plans for dates, having fun texting a girl is a great thing. Don't text because you're desperate f…

Women will always like attractive men. Sometimes the guys they like will be VERY conventionally attractive, and that can kind of fuck with your head. However, women aren't as vain as men are. They want to laugh, experience some new things in life, and basically be attached to people that can offer those things. When you just hook up with a girl who is conventionally hot, it's kind of a conquest and no lie, it feels good. But when you realize that the best experiences you've had with girls are ac…

I think at first this is fine advice; but once you're even remotely able to enjoy going out alone, the best mindset is to NOT need a reason. You don't need to be building yourself up, you don't need to be learning about yourself. You're just somebody who goes out by himself to have a great time and meet some people. Pure, honest hedonism is a very powerful motivation once you can harness it. "I'm doing this because I like it."

Going out alone is awesome so long as you're not self-conscious about it. Yes, people usually roll with with friends: if it comes up as to why you're out alone, it HAS to be because it's A THING YOU DO. You can do whatever you want so long as you own it; you wanted to come out alone to meet people. You don't need a game plan, you don't need a reason to not be here with other people other then "I wanted to come out and meet some people." You go out alone because you want to have fun. Own that, an…

No. I mean, once you're REALLY good you can probably know when that's OK to pull off, but for a lot of guys reading this, if they followed that advice specifically, they're going to seem rape-y. Honestly, it's tried and true but once you've been talking to a girl for a bit, you've held her hand, maybe kissed her... you move to another location that's quieter. A nice cocktail lounge or a hookah bar. "Hey, I know this great place nearby, come with me for a little bit." - if you've progressed in th…

You're allowing yourself to be pigeonholed by rules if you believe it's too late. Yes, you should approach within 5 seconds of spotting her. That's a guideline to BUILD CONFIDENCE with approaching and forcing yourself to do so. You know what I do if I spot a girl I want to talk to, but I'm with a group having a couple of laughs? I'll wait to approach her. If I am sitting alone at a bar reading my phone, and I spot a girl I think is cute, I may still wait to approach her. And you know what? Turns…

I've run into this; I make it known that I personally find them attractive, and make it known that I want to see their body. Some girls are VERY self-conscious and really need to know: 1-) That you aren't fucking THEM just to fuck SOMEBODY (seriously, if a girl has low self-esteem, you need to be hooking up with them because you want THEM, not because you want to be sleeping with ANYBODY), and 2-) That you're a confident guy and know what you want. And you want them. Hopefully you're the guy tha…

Actually to take the "high five to hand hold" a step further, after I'm holding their hand I like to have a secret to tell her. It can basically be anything from making fun of her dress to asking her "have you ever kissed a girl before" But the trick here is to take her hand that you're still holding and gently pulling her to bring her ear close to your mouth for the secret. You can drag it out a bit for a hell of a lot of intimate contact that doesn't actually look that intimate.

HOLY CRAP THIS IS SUCH A LOAD OF SHIT! I see it here ALL the time and it's so wrong. Models is honestly a great book, more guys should read it. But I promise you that you can have fun text conversations, and STILL date/hookup with the girl. Like, some of you guys have read it as though Marc MANSON (Not Maron!!!) is TOTALLY against texting but he even says in the book that HIS texts are boring. If you aren't a boring texter and you make her laugh, so long as you're setting up dates, and not overt…

I fucking KILL it with OKCupid; type up a message telling you why you were interested in her profile, show her you're witty and smart. Do not fuck around with talking back and fourth for a shitload of time. Since I started going for the in-person meetup within 6 messages BETWEEN US, I slay it. Of the responses I get, basically all of them will agree to meet up, and they'll text me when I say "Well I'm having fun, I'd love to meet up; send me a text, lets make some plans"

Yep. Once you talk to them you realize they've got the same neurotic hangups as everybody else in the world. Couple that with the fact that they get hit on by a TON of creepy dudes (seriously, once you've seen a hot girls OKCupid messages you will realize how little those guys matter to her. She filters them out because she HAS to, not because she wants to) and you'll realize that she's giving you time of day because she hopes you have something interesting to add to her life. Hot girls aren't s…

Sorry if that came across as assholish; I didn't mean to imply you're too poor and I don't know anything about your situation. But if you're dating online, you have to be prepared to pay for a girls drinks. Asking a girl out in person is a totally different game, you've already vetted each other enough to know that a date sounds like fun. Online, your first in-person impression is incredibly important. You're on a speed date where you have to make them know you're a guy with stuff going on. Is i…

With online dating you really want to go out for drinks. When you ask somebody out in person, the lead-up to the "yes" part was kind of like an alpha-version of a date; you bullshitted, sussed out whether or not you wanted to go out with this person, and then decided to go out with them. Online dating is a different animal; you are meeting somebody in person after only learning a small amount about them in a few text boxes. So you have to be able to smash past the awkwardness really fast, and a …

I always pay on first dates, but my first dates are usually hopping around to bars and if it goes well, a quick bite to eat afterwards. If 20 dollars is an upsetting amount of money to lose, you shouldn't even be going out.

Uh you've given out advice that is either entirely cliche or fucking WRONG. Don't be reactive with my physical or verbal body language? That's fucking CRAZY talk; if somebody says something I find funny, I will laugh. If I'm telling a story, I'm going to be animated. If somebody says something offensive, I will tell them that is offensive. Telling a guy to make all, or even MOST, of the decisions? What the fuck? If I'm out with somebody and they say "Hey I have an awesome plan" and it sounds fun…

Nah, this may be shot. First off, numbers mean DICK and girls will text back and forth with a guy a little bit before they just say "fuck it" and never get back in touch. This girl either didn't remember his name, which is not a great sign as far as anchoring goes, or she's messing with him by saying "hey I forgot your name". I kinda doubt she's messing with him, but I've known girls that like to do that kind of shit. Instead, think of number-closing as Plan-Closing next time. If you enjoy a gir…

You just read this in Models and you're parroting back - it's wrong; texting is awesome if you both like texting. You don't HAVE to be a guy that only uses texting for logistics; I text like crazy just if I feel like interacting with somebody whenever I have a bit of spare time at work. Texting before you've gone out a few times and like each other, like in this situation, is a crap shoot. But getting a number is shit anyways, you want to close out an interaction with either a date, or plans to …

First off you're making a big mistake going for girls who aren't readily available. It's great that they are busy, and having fun in another city, but what about them makes them appealing to YOU? You want to go out on dates with girls who have the time to do so. Second, don't bother trying to build attraction through anything other than in-person meets. Once you get a date set, or at the VERY LEAST have established that in-person meets are the immediate goal with them, a few funny/flirty texts a…

Ah, I have actually run into this problem before a few times- I currently live in a rural area, and sometimes I go out in a city that's a bit over an hour away, so it's very unlikely that I'll convince them to drive an hour out of the way to have sex with me. First off, if you come back to the hostel with a girl in tow and say you want a separate, private room I doubt you'd run into problems. They have your information, couples stay in those rooms ALL the time together, and service employees rar…

I mean, high school is a different animal but numbers don't mean shit as a whole. Intent to go out AND the number is the name of the game. "Hey, let's go out sometime soon, we've had fun tonight, you know we'll have more fun next time. Let me get your number." This is displaying intent to ask them out and make plans, rather than just asking them for their number. I want the girl to know exactly why I am asking them for their number, it helps to set me apart.

Bingo - I've said this a million times before on here: you will never build attraction through text messages. You can build a bit of comfort and rapport, but you'll never turn a girl on by texting before you've had sex. Afterwards however, you can totally text about how much you want to dive between her legs again or whatever, so long as you aren't JUST texting that.

Yup, and remember that you're working on you right now, so if you're open and honest about that and a girl your into is totally turned off by that, fuck em anyways. My family was going through some shit so I'm back home helping out and honestly it hasn't been an issue for me. I still go out, meet girls and have a great time. I drive an older Honda, I work with my dad, but I'm also happy and fun. Girls focus more on that and the fact that you are improving yourself (or in my case trying to improv…

Actually, for OKC game you're alright building comfort with a few extra texts here and there. You won't, however, be building ATTRACTION. A couple of flirty and funny texts is never a harmful thing, but do not assume there is anything else besides comfort and rapport building there. Girls get nervous meeting guys online, they may feel it's lame for them to do so, they may take it as more of a joke thing with their friends (so many girls online set up their profiles together, and they DO laugh at…

Not at 25 it won't, nope. Maybe nothing is up and he's totally normal, but no woman will see it that way. Don't just casually toss out you're a virgin with some woman you've met at a bar when you get that far (and you will so long as you learn physical escalation properly, which to be blunt it sounds like if you haven't even kissed a girl you haven't learned that yet. You can piss a girl off royally, but if you get her alone you can almost always go for a makeout and succeed). But when you do ge…

I get this a lot - answer with your real age and then something that totally takes the value out of the question. "28, but don't worry I learned how to play nice and share way back in kindergarten. Hey how big are your shoes?" Just something honest but totally silly is what I use. If a girl is reallllly looking for a particular person with particular numbers you'll blow out of it sooner or later anyways, if she just wants to goof around and have fun, make your answers to her test questions funny…

Always go for specific plans, and have them be something fun - bowling, laser tag, arcade, pinball... whatever you think she'd be into (and get to know her a little bit to know what has the highest chance of 'yes'). Numbers don't mean shit - if I get just a number with no somewhat specific plan, I don't expect anything. Basically the hierarchy is: Plans - specific plans on a specific time and day to do something together. This is the least likely flake. "Hey, grab a drink and come bowling with m…

You're putting stock in getting a number first of all, that's what's tripping you up. A number is nothing. Instead of a number get a firm plan from her. Not "let me text you sometime and we'll go out." but a "Hey, next wednesday come meet up with me and grab a drink." Basically, every time you think of asking a girl for her number, ask her out instead. If she say's she's busy, ask her when works best. If she's tentative she probably doesn't want to go out with you, a girl that likes you will be …

The only texting tip is to not bother reading too many texting tips, and certainly don't make an effort to apply these rules to a lot of situations. If you and a girl are having a great time texting each other about silly stuff, fucking do it. Use all the emoticons you want, she's reading your texts, laughing, and having a grand old time. So long as you guys are meeting up and moving forwards, this is a great thing. If you and a girl meet up and have a great time together but maybe she isn't tha…

I agree if you haven't been out once, but if/when you find that person you have chemistry with, text as much as you like. Some girls like to send texts out a bunch because they're bored, and if you're the person they want to entertain them, that's a good thing. If that's your thing, as well. If it isn't, don't. I happen to like texting, and my sense of humor comes across really well. But if you're thinking about it in a way to INCREASE attraction/comfort, you're going about it wrong; the attract…

I don't even know if I'm into the whole "seduction" community thing because a lot of you guys don't really seem to get how to really talk to girls; you think YOU are going to have a good time with girls if you aren't laughing and making them laugh? Why would you even fucking bother? To have somebody like you? Yea, being liked is great, but if you aren't making her light up while you light up why would you even WANT to move further?
