Thanks for your question, Mrs. Finances is the reason why he wants to wait, and doesn’t want to entertain earlier wedding dates. He’s always wanted a bigger wedding. Our two families at the altar would be be just fine for me. I truly think that we could be fine financially (we both work and are well paid), but he wants to be 100% certain that he can afford everything. He means well, cares about providing, all the lovely things. This turn of events was unexpected and hard for me.

I wouldn’t say that he is RP, but both of us are more traditional in the way we view life. More accountability would be so helpful, but indeed, the pandemic has provided a wealth of obstacles and excuses for introverts. I’ve been making calls for advice, and have two accountability married friends that have been very helpful, but with this change, I felt the need for MAJOR help. I’ll keep trying.

Thanks for your response. I’ve suggested that so many times. Small wedding. Elopements. Getting married sooner. The pandemic is the perfect time to use any of these excuses. When I make these comments, he suggests moving in together, so this strategy has not worked for me. He wants a bigger wedding than I do, which is fine, but this summer just seems too far away for both of us to cope. Trust me, if we could go to the alter tonight, I would be so thankful.
