Some excellent stuff there, keep going! Don't wait til you're over 50 to lose weight and get in shape like I did! I lost 50 lbs between January and June, then in October started lifting for the first time in my life. Progress comes hard at my age but it's coming along. Being young as you are, you'll be whipped into great shape quick if you keep working at it.

Have been hitting the gym pretty hard over the last two months. Never did this before in my life so I'm weak as hell and trying hard to change that. Only missed once so far because of thanksgiving goings on. This week I increased weights on just about every exercise, finally got my bench over 100, squats so close at 95,lat pulldowns to 115... well a bunch of low numbered crap but feels great to be bumping triple digits for the first time. Hopefully I'll gain some visible size over the next sever…

Congrats on the milestone, those feel good! I just started lifting in October so I'm brand new and being over 50 doesn't help I'm sure but I set personal bests all over the gym today. Made a couple sets of 5 bench presses with a measly 105 lbs, but I started at something like 65 lbs so that's huge for me. My dl is only 135 (for reps though!) and I go cross-eyed at even that amount so over 200 has my respect!

Yeah, it still works. She usually initiates and it doesn't take long. She was a lot better looking when we met and I suppose the gradual change kind of conditioned me to work with what I've had. Am considering just giving her an ultimatum. Something like lose 50 pounds by next Christmas or buh bye. She's seen my cold side and knows I'll follow through too, so she would definitely take that seriously.

From my TRP newbie point of view, we're all PEOPLE. Men, women, race, religion, whatever. Who gives a fuck really. Life is challenging enough without even worrying about what someone else likes or doesn't like. Yes, a lot of what is said here pertains to chasing women, but the main underlying message is to take charge of your own life and make whatever you want of it. Be the greatest person you possibly can be and you will have more opportunity to pursue whatever you want. Also I have exactly tw…

Me: 54Y.O., 6' tall, 175 lbs, pretty average looks I think. Started lifting in October for the first time in my life so I'm pretty weak but working on it. N-count=5, so basically I haven't really been around the block yet in spite of my age. In other words, I have pretty much zero game right now and it might take me a while to actually round up any kind of FWB type of thing. Currently in a long distance LTR of 10 years and circumstances have come around to where it looks like she will move 500 m…

"Hey u wanna go out on friday?" Isn't that kind of the wrong approach anyway? Seems open for bullshit replies. Wouldn't it be better to go along the lines of "Hey I'm going to do X on Friday, want to come with?"

Yeahaw. I found a recommended TRP reading list post and placed an order from Amazon. Got The Rational Male, No More Mr Nice Guy and The Millionaire Fastlane on the way. Also I already have a copy of How to Win Friends and Influence People that I am starting immediately.

Nope, I haven't read it. And I see it there on the side bar. I'll round up the book/eBook whatever and go back over the side bar some more. Obviously I've either missed some stuff or my retention the first time reading through it was not great. And yeah, PUA/ONS isn't really what I'm after. Something more solid than that, but not to the point of oneitis. Every woman I've been with so far has been exclusive for at least half a year and most for much longer. That shit must stop! Time to enjoy shop…

I think you have the TRP fundamentals wrong... you should be focusing on YOUR goals first, whatever that might be. Eww... Ok, well it wouldn't be the first time I got some stuff wrong, that can be fixed. Current goal of bedding some HB's is probably the wrong mindset but wtf. Goal is goal and I'm doing SMV related side goals on my way to that one. Lifting (one month in and enjoying it so far), improving wardrobe, getting some dental work done soon etc etc. I don't feel that my goal is unreasonab…

What to do at a bar?? And how to pick a new favorite hangout if there is such a thing? For all of my adult life it's been my habit to beat a direct path between home and work, and I've pretty much just met women through dating sites. At 54 I'm sure my old habits are going to be hard to break but I'm feeling up to the challenge. Already this year I've let go of my long term/long distance relationship, bought a decent house, lost weight and for the first time in my life have started lifting. Basic…

Couple old guy questions here if I may combine them. Here's me: 54, 6'0", 175 lbs and sorta skinny at the moment. Just started lifting about 3 weeks ago so hopefully I'll be buffed up before too awful long. Unfortunately I have about zero game. I've read the sidebar stuff, plus tons of stuff from other places, and I think I understand well but haven't practiced at all yet. So game + bod = in the works for the time being. Question 1) There are two universities in my town so young ladies abound. S…

Fuck you guy! You're doing a hell of a lot better than I ever did, I'm fucking jealous of you already. I was 23 before I got my first bit of action and stupid me married the bitch. 54 now and my total score is a whopping 5, with none even rating on the HB scale at all. Talk about a late bloomer, sheesh. So you're 20 and you already woke up, be glad for that. Seems like you even recognize most of your problems already, that's huge! Now stop whining, make up your mind to straighten your shit out a…

lroom dancing because I used to swing dance and got a bit of experience doing other dances while doing that. I do some Tango, Foxtrot, Salsa, Cha-Cha, Rumba and East/West Coast Swing. It's great because even if you're literally petrified of talking to women you're forced to Very cool man! I have always been one to sit out, having no confidence in myself because of not knowing any moves. Would be a great thing to change. Got a bit on my plate at the moment but I think dance lessons will be in my …

Dance lessons, huh? I've heard of that a bunch of times, might actually be interested in doing that. And since I have zero dance moves, lessons would be a great thing. What kind of dancing?

Changing my whole life! Since the beginning of this year I lost 50 lbs going from 220 to 170. Ended my long term long distance relationship, bought a house and moved out of the apartment I had been in for 10 years. Just this week I started lifting weights for the first time in my life and am looking to add maybe 25 lbs of muscle. On the social side of things, I had put away my bass guitar about 4 years ago and recently picked that back up again. Played with two startup bands today, one of which …

Exactly. First I ever read about one of these teacher/student things years ago I cheered for the kid. I still don't see why people make such a big deal of it. Jealousy maybe...
