My brother was circumcised because of religious beliefs. Beliefs that I do not share. I don't understand why everyone is down voting me and seeming to become angry with me. I will personally not be getting any of my possible future children circumcised. However, I still hold an opinion that parents (or a parent) should have the option to get their child circumcised by a trained professional.

There are in fact medical benefits to getting your male child circumcised. We are in an age where most women know why and how to properly clean the area under the clitoral hood. If it is not cleaned, infections and diseases may occur. But when over 50% of men are already circumcised, most of those men do not understand the need to clean under the foreskin. If the procedure is done correctly, the child will survive. If it is done incorrectly, there is a possibility of the child losing its life. That is true for almost any operation however. I have seen a circumcision performed, on my own little brother actually. I still hold my opinion on the matter.

Is circumcision frowned upon in this subreddit? Edit: Okay, my opinion has definitely changed after reading all of these comments. Some of them were pretty goddamn hateful and I did get a SHITTON of hate mail. But some of the comments were legitimate arguments that were actually trying to inform me about circumcision. Also I noticed something, if in this thread you showed any support whatsoever of circumcision, you were downvoted. What the hell guys?
