8	Sexism in Medicine So I went to the nurses almost every day in middle and high school because I was always in pain, had headaches and anger problems and they brushed me off. It took me having an unrelated seizure IN CLASS for them to actually run tests and guess what, I have an autoimmune disease where my cells basically attack my thyroid.
