Exactly. I live in a rural area. I've adapted my well to accept a hand pump if electricity goes out for an extended period. Extra fuel on hand for vehicles if I need to leave (we weren't in the wind field this time so it was better to stay in place rather than become someone else's problem). I chunked the non-stick cookware once I figured out cast iron. Collected some old skillets and dutch ovens. Put them in the oven and ran them through a self-cleaning cycle, wire wheeled them down and then coated them with flax seed oil and back into the oven at 450 degrees for an hour.....did that part 6 times. More non-stick than the "non stick" stuff I paid big bucks for.
