Yeah right, tell that to Phil Hartman. Oh wait, you can't: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Hartman#Death

It has to be set up. What the cloud connection does is very confusing to some people so it's quite likely she just entered the ID and password for her personal Apple account and the defaults kicked in thus syncing all her photos on her iPhone to the iPad.

If she setup cloud sync with the same ID on both the iPhone and iPad it will automatically sync all photos.

An argument can be made that the proposition redefines pimping as sex trafficking with correspondingly higher penalties. In California "pimping" is [basically] benefiting from the earnings of someone engaged in prostitution and doesn't require acting like a stereotypical pimp. For example, knowingly receiving rent from a roommate that you know is engaged in prostitution could be legally construed as pimping. If the laws intent is to increase the penalties for pimping and/or prostitution then it …

Actually, I don't deserve to know, but I would love to know.

Sorry, but there is really no independent verification for this story. This seems a lot like alien abduction tales. This, of course, doesn't mean that women can't rape men (they certainly can.) It's just that this story seems a lot like the various panics over supposed witches that regularly pop up in Africa.

But that doesn't mean that most men molest children.

A common mistake people make is believing that a large percentage of men are sexual offenders since a higher percentage of convicted sexual offenders are men rather than women. There are at least two mistakes with this belief: Men as a group do not equal sexual offenders as a group. Sexual offense conviction isn't necessarily equivalent to sexually abusive behavior (by men or women.) Furthermore, there is mistaken belief that strangers are more likely to perpetrate sexual offenses than people th…

I see people as people first and only base my opinions concerning them on their words and actions. I certainly use my experience with different groups and types of people, however, there is no reason for me to assume that I can divine what a women (or a man) is like simply based on their gender.

I absolutely want to dissolve governmental intervention in marriage insomuch as it is currently treated as a special type of contract that can be abrogated at the whim of the government. In my opinion marriage contracts should not be treated differently than any other type of contract.

I guess my inner libertarian compels me to hold a somewhat contrary view on this. The marriage contract as negotiated, which is only between two people, should be the guide as to how to divvy up assets in a divorce (and this includes any pre-nuptials) and shouldn't be guided by any governmental social policy (not that this is at all likely in China.) Of course, people, when married without pre-nuptials, accept the default marriage contract of whatever jurisdiction they are in, so definitely be a…

And just remember, if you think that this is absurd, and you are male, then you are paedophile! See Moral Panic.

Yes, exactly. It's a policy that does an end-run around the constitution. Keep in mind that we aren't discussing private schools here, but publicly funded governmental institutions. The fact that they are allowed to use the preponderance of the evidence standard for what amount to criminal charges is astonishing (and unconstitutional.)

Of course we weren't complete idiots (just partial idiots) since we usually cut the exploding tip off of the end of the rockets.

The trap many liberals (willingly) fell into here, and btw, I am a liberal, is thinking that rape is in a special class of crime where men should be considered guilty until proven innocent (and even then they should be considered guilty simply because they are men.)

Unless there are actual witnesses and/or other confirming details the "victim" is in fact the accuser and it's obviously prejudicial to use the word victim when there is only an accuser. Sorry, that's just how the judicial system works. Justice is no longer blind when there are special case crimes where the accused is considered guilty until proven innocent. The other issue with using the victim label is that someone may actually be a victim but the perpetrator of the crime may not actually be t…

I think many people misread much of boys behavior as being unemotional. As I recall my early teen compatriots and I would do things like play tag with bottle rockets, but if anyone actually got hurt we were right there for them, best friends forever.

Colleges have always had a pseudo-legal and justice system including sub-par campus cops and student and faculty run disciplinary boards that take on cases that should be tried in real courts. Due process basically doesn't exist on most campuses, and if people defend disciplinary boards by stating that they aren't meant to render legal judgements, then I ask why in the world are they being used to render serious judgements on cases that should be adjudicated my the actual legal system?
