Hmm. Would there be a distinction between doing this in hopes of getting a girl (which I think would fail), vs already being in a relationship (in which case an occasional "indulgence" could be positive perhaps)?

Maybe it would be useful to provide counterexamples of what should be done. For this example: tell them to leave, as you won't stand for aggression and there's no way in hell you're giving positive reinforcement to unacceptable behavior.

Thanks for the advice. It wasn't for reassurance for myself as much as a reminder for people starting out about the "nice guy" mentality.

Saw it on a friend's facebook page, then parodied on another post on reddit. Searched for the title online to post here, thinking it might strike a chord with the community and offer a good reminder for newbies here of how not to think.

Fair point. It might be worth discussing for two reasons, though, illustrating how: Some men might think this "nice guy" behavior is what girls really want, and fall for it. Perhaps women might think they know what they want, but not really being aware of what they truly want.
