I feel like I was emotionally separated a year prior to actual divorce and move out. I started dating a woman a little older than me 2months post sock day. She makes as much money as me, no kids, has her own life (I’m not the sole focus) she needs/wants nothing but my time. This is so foreign to me, exciting for sure. I’m enjoying being with someone mature with goals. Who knows where this goes, or if this is success. Financially I’m sunk for several more years though.

That would help me significantly… mine are pre taxed figures… which is insane.

It’s based off what you end up making. Not based off the prior year.. so don’t spend it all in case she comes for it.

It was, my annual bonus could be collected as well… which pisses me off more than giving away more than half my monthly income lol

Sorry brother but yes, the max if she so chooses and if she has an attorney she will. I’m a 6figure earner and she was a stay at home mom. I’m now on the hook for 3k per month and all child care and medical expenses. Luckily her alimony will run out in 22months, which I’m counting! Lol

There isn’t anything “fair” or “50/50” when you have a dick between your legs in divorce.. you can only hope to make it a little less shitty..

I’m trying to focus on where I’ll live that’s close to my kids, pay them bills, and not end up moving multiple counties away due to COL. 4000/Mo including child care..

I’m also paying 3500/mo.. it’s gut wrenching… 24months of maintenance left.. makes all that hard work grinding to a six figure job feel not worth it knowing more than half my monthly take home is going to her… to do nothing. What’s the point

she was stay at home while I busted my ass to build us up financially, which she also ruined. I don’t have any assets left but my house and I have to split that with her 50/50. I simply don’t have any money to continue the fight.

You are right about that.. women think they know what they want but rarely ever know. And if for some reason they get that guy they thought they wanted.. it’ll never be enough.

Respect, the second she looses respect of you and your personal boundaries, you are in a death spiral. Women don’t want a subservient man, always remember that!

Real reconciliation is very rare… men accepting their shitty circumstances likely… is that reconciliation?

Once you get through the initial fog, don’t fall victim to hysterical bonding with your WS. I did and had a 3rd kiddo. The lack of respect came back about at year into reconciliation, then DB, then back into couples counseling, then I shocked her and told her “I’m done, we’re getting a divorce” reconciliation is simply too rare to think it’ll work for just anyone. Keep your head up, it took me almost 4 years to finally pull the divorce cord, but now I’m more clear than I ever have been and will …

Go spin those plates bro! Audible is a great way to listen to his book, FYI

The person you marry is never the person you divorce. Rich Cooper is a little divisive but reading/listening to his book Unplugged Alpha helped me tremendously. Maybe it’ll help you brother
