Great post and super important topic - especially the part about seeing a therapist. I was unfortunately (or fortunately looking back on it) hit with a series of shitty events that sent me into - according to my therapist - a deep depression. After having talked about it with my close friends for several months, which didn't help that much, I found the courage to talk to a professional psychologist about it. This helped me immensely, and we got to talk about several core issues of mine and he ga…

I tried that approach; didn't engage conversation with her or answered her messages for two weeks. Then when I sent her a message on snapchat she got kind of upset - which i suppose means that she still had feelings. I of course wanted her back, so I immediately went back to being a betaboy. She then proceeded to ignore me, and it's been sort of like that ever since. I really think that it's a question of changing my emotions. That's a great point. I've realized that I've spent way too much time thinking about her. "Why won't she respond to my calls" or "what if she changes her mind and we can see each other again, just like old times!" are ways of thinking that have kept me in a downward spiral. I've lost sleep over it, all because of some stupid girl who doesn't even respect me enough to tell me why she's not interested. I won't let her paralyze me anymore. Thanks

Really needed this post. I have had a tendency in the past to obsess over girls, so the thing about being suicidal over a girl is relateable. I need a kick in the ass often. Nice one.

I'm in the exact same situation as you my friend. 21 years old, did 3 semesters of a business degree, but decided i wanted to program instead, so applying to Computer Science this summer. Applying for jobs like a mad man, but can't get anything, so that sucks. But just hang in there friend, make use of your time, and improve yourself.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
