The best advice I've ever heard, and this relates to many many different situations. Do it like you've been doing it your whole life. Even if you don't know what your doing fake it. Thank you, actually helped me get into the right mindset. I used to use delusions to keep me happy and productive, it did work, but you can't live like that forever. Eventually you'll come back to reality and it will slap you in the face, and back to murphy's law it is.

I do see what you mean but as a 21 year old man, I appreciated the gift from my mom, but I wouldn't have wanted to keep them anyway. So I re-gifted them to a girl I had a thing for, not that she cared either way. And even so, If they did mean as much to me as you say they should, and they did, giving them to her would have meant even more due to the centimental value they held.
