I have a mid 30’s mate going through it right now, trying to date younger. He really wants kids but he wants to date a conservative girl. He’s in the trades, is fit, smart and has money and property to offer. What he doesn’t get is young conservative girls don’t want a divorced man (they’re idealistic) and if they are dating for money they want status or charm to go with it. I think he should find a healthy girl closer to his age who probably won’t care about his money and he needs to work on hi…

With BPD it can present different ways, It’s more where it stems from, a hollow sense of identity or self. They project on to you and are highly unregulated, very volatile. They want you to save them, but you’re never good enough. My ex would idealise and demonise me. I was always the reason she was unwell. She was never happy. She couldn’t work, I did all the work, house cleaning, cooking etc. But it was never enough. She was unwell because I wasn’t at the breakfast table. She was suicidal but …

Me, I went MGTOW for a few months, now happily re-married after deconstructing it. For context my ex is severely mentally unwell, and I became convinced her BPD symptoms were typical after listening to the toxic BS. It’s not all lies, but it’s telling some truths about a minority of women and applying it to all women. I was an easy mark.

These “feminists” you are describing are prejudiced against men. It’s not healthy. Also not healthy when men’s rights activists are actually prejudiced against women. We can be for something without hating another group.

Dating is not a numbers game, it’s about finding someone to connect with, spend time with, and love and be loved by them building a future together. Cold approaching sounds like the worst way to meet someone who you might connect with long term. Hell, even online dating has bio’s. Also, why are you trying to turn this into a competition?

I believe It’s the women who are immature or toxic themselves who are attracted to toxic traits in men. I accept that bragging coujd be mistaken for confidence or strength for safety, etc. But I think a healthy normally attached women will screen take a her time to screen for authenticity.

My ex was extremely unwell and abusive because of it. She blew up my marriage, threatened to murder our children and ended up in a psyche ward. In order to heal I had to figure out why I was ok with this behavior and why I tried to rescue women like this. I was afraid all women would be like this, the red pill backed up this belief. I stepped away from dating to heal for 2 years. Once I’d done enough work and had healed enough I found unwell toxic women were now repellent to me. Then I was ready…

The replies here are overwhelming wholesome. A little faith in humanity restored. Fella, you’re on your way. Leave women that say shallow judgemental without a second thought. There words don’t define you.

Yeah, just don’t make it a system. Be warm open and friendly in general, and if it’s with a girl you are interested in but it’s not going well, bow out before you ask anything.

Nah talk to people in lots on contexts, just don’t cold approach. Genuinely be interested in others and maybe that will turn into a dating opportunity. If not you had a good convo hopefully. Don’t follow a system. Be genuine of your interest in people. Talk to the grandma at the gym as well as the girl your age.

That most guys who would call it “cold approach” don’t have the social skills to read the room. Chatting to people in public is fine and normal and not “creepy”. Turning that situation into one where you are deliberately hitting on people while they are showing no interest in reciprocating the attention is creepy and makes more people closed off next time and less friendly in general. In short doing this badly hurts everybody’s social interactions in public.

Here’s a secret about men… we want long term relationships too, and will love a good woman through all her changes and seasons. All of that red pill bs is superficial nonsense about attracting a “high value” (read good looking with status and look - superficial) partner. Try and work on you to become a good woman and seek out a partner who has worked on themselves to be a good man, good values, emotionally healthy, and ready to give and received from another.

This guy sounds great and really willing to step up when he needs to and has your back. The red pill is a lie. The majority of young women earn more now then the majority of young men. Even if a guy has wealth (like a business or a house) this doesn’t mean they have spare income during a recession a business or a house can quickly become a liability. This small percentage of wealthy men with disposable income, how many of them want a traditional family? And of those how many want a woman who wou…

I wanted to say something about labels being used to justify things… but honestly I think a better path then getting resentful is to try and see their humanity and hurt and learn from that, and just remember it doesn’t justify the shitty takes. No longer being red-pill doesn’t require you embrace a new form of radical ideology, but hopefully having gone through what you have it will give you compassion for how people can get trapped by other radical views. Here’s an easy one to aspire to, being kind not nice. This is attractive AF and is genuine character building. For example being gentle with children, helping frail people, fostering good friendships with boundaries, serving and giving to causes you believe in for no other motive and saying no to ok things to say yes to things that are better. Doesn’t require attaining unreachable status but does require self reflection, integrity, strength of character and building genuine empathy for others.

People with a healthy attachment style tend to date other people with a healthy attachment style. They’ll pull out from dating people who love bomb, are manipulative, really needy, aggressive, domineering etc. it just doesn’t feel right. This is the real reason people recommend therapy and working on yourself as dating advice. Fix all of that so you’re ready to form an intimate relationship that will be fulfilling for both parties. A lot of the red pill advice is on how to trick vulnerable women…

Depends on how well versed people are in the religion. I can talk about Christianity but wouldn’t pretend to know much about Islam. Red pill should be abhorrent to Christian’s.
/r/ExRedPill03/06/24 12:14 AM

I’ll let you in on a little inside track. In Christianity there is a new theological position a lot of conservative Christian men and women hold to called compatibilism. Most of them don’t know it’s new and was a reaction to emerging egalitarianism, which was a reaction to patriarchy no longer being a theologically defensible position. Compatibilism also isn’t really tenable, but some people struggle to let go. Red pill jumps on this.

Tinder isn’t a great experience for most men and it isn’t a great experience for most women either. Tinder isn’t delivering for most people in either group well, because tinder tracks matches not meaningful connections. A lot of women stay off the apps which is why it’s 80/20 men to women I think it was at last count.

Actually not true, there’s a dating crises being caused by roughly 50% of men under 30 not looking to date in the near future. There are plenty of women who would want a partner and who are too unconfident to put themselves out there who just aren’t being approached.

Yes, no Christian should be following their dating advice. They devalue women, who are made in the image of God and ignore that all believers are one in Christ Jesus, neither Greek or Jew, male or female, and that men are to sacrifice themselves for their wife, like Christ for the church. They have no understanding of the Christian framework given their celebration of lust, pride and selfish ambition. Red pill is not Christian in any way. Hey I want to try and help, genuinely. I have a few questions for you, What have you tried? Gym, job, friends, hobbies? What is your current frame in your thinking? Are you happy in yourself being alone? What is your attachment style? What is your goal here? What do you think most healthy women want? Are you neurodiverse in any way? What will you compromise or not compromise on for the sake of a relationship? What boundaries do you have?

Sounds like he’s good at getting in through the door for a first date/hookup? Not necessarily who the women want in a long term partner though. I’m wondering about RSD (rejection sensitivity) being an issue? It’s really common for anyone who has ADHD or any neurodiverse brain wiring. Having RSD can become a self fulfilling prophecy, where you sabotage yourself if you’re not careful. The sensitivity to rejection applies everywhere to all kinds of relationships. As an adult with ADHD I’m very familiar with this feeling.

It’s really complex, Good looks, charisma, displays of resources, drive, confidence (even all the way up to narcissism), and a bit danger can all be exciting to women and help with the spark that’ll get them interested. However dark triad traits and misogyny will make for a terrible relationship for women. It’s not ok to body shame men. It’s not ok to body shame women. It’s not ok to body shame anyone. Anyone who tries to say it’s ok to shame one group over another for characteristics they can’t help is a bigot and prejudiced. You are welcome here mate. Dating is not a game to be won. It’s finding someone you can connect with. This is what is bs about all the pills. It reduces people down to average groups and statistics. You’re hope is found in realizing that’s not what dating is for or about, and that you can and will one day find another person you can really connect with and settle into a long term relationship with them. Most healthy women, like to cuddle and bond afterwards and need to know that her needs and wants matter too. The problem is in the analysis and the framing. Specifically it’s the framing of toxic traits and/or antisocial and/or unhelpful attachment styles in people as normal that’s looked down upon. A lot of the red pill advice encourages men to act like disconnected psychopaths and believes that all women all have attachment issues/personality disorders.

There’s a whole part of red pill called MGTOW. That’s the part that appealed to me. Never dating again. Traumatic end to a traumatic relationship got me there. This is me, I nearly went full MGTOW because I thought a lot of women were like my ex. Some guys have the opportunity to date multiple women at once and do this, some women will turn a blind eye or will settle for being treated badly and yes dating is in a worse state than it’s ever been. But here’s the honest truth… there are two dating pools, people who are unhealthy and play games and people who are healthy and are dating as whole people to find long term relationships. What you’re saying is it’s a “truthy” observation that dating is skewed towards 20% of men getting an 80% dating pool of women. Ok so think about the couples you see everywhere… do you regularly see four women actually dating one guy? Or do you usually see stacks of couples everywhere? What’s the marriage rate? Is polygamy common place or is marriage? Over time one very attractive guy might date many women. But the 20/80 thing is bs. Most women aren’t hooking up, most women are looking for one g…

Here’s what I think the RP is missing, in dating people aren’t selecting for averages. We are trying to find a whole person who is compatible with us as a whole person. Life is about finding meaning where you are, not about statistics or beating the bell curve. A lot of women are turned off by the alpha male BS. Healthy women are looking for a whole person to date not statistics. I’m not lying to you, this is a truth about healthy women, they will usually choose an average looking, good, kind ma…

Here’s the thing… there are some women out there like how the RP describes but they all have attachment issues, and/or personality disorders and/or serious mental health issues and they are in the minority. How do you avoid women like this? You’ll need to go on dates to find out if you’re compatible and by the way as a man you also get to reject potential partners while dating. So early on in dating watch out for healthy attachment behaviour and not healthy behaviour. Relatively easy things to s…

From one guy to another guy, masturbation is a normal healthy behaviour. It’s not beta, it’s not shameful, trying to hold it in (no fap) has no real world benefits. Men have needs. Yes it’s a need to release that sexual tension. Escorts aren’t a need, porn isn’t a need. Friendship and social connection are a need. Spend a year or two finding yourself and growing to be confident in that, then you’ll be alright, that confidence will attract the right person.

Be direct and polite, ie. “ask her on a date” and respect her enough that she’ll know how to say yes or no. You kind of just have to be upfront and trust that women know how to deal with it.

If she’s attracted to you and doesn’t have major personality or attachment issues, she’ll be more attracted to you if you open up. This is emotional intimacy and healthy woman loooove connecting with you this way! It’ll grow your relationship. If she’s unhealthy she may lose attraction and this a major red flag. This is all wild! Everyone is out here only amplifying the studies making men solely to blame for it. While that’s true in that they are the ones choosing to commit suicide and choosing that option. Honestly if you think about the pipeline in for guys, there’s a pipeline out too. So you’d argue for egalitarianism in regards to the draft? That’s cool. That’s still different argument to be had though than taking the right away from women to vote. Just pearly things mentioned a fair bit of what you’ve said as a reason. But she also said she thinks women are too irrational to vote. You don’t need to take away the right to vote to argue for a fairer draft, and I don’t think you’d be right in assuming that a fairer draft are her only motives.

Single mothers aren’t garbage, but it is harder for all single parents dating, less time, split focus, more drama, people are dating you but your kids have a say. This is also the case for men. Both men and women’s looks fade over time, but that doesn’t equal all of attraction. Physical appearance is only part of it. Men take more than just youth into account. Relationships usually work like this; infatuation, bonding/compatibility testing, deepening love/commitment, long term commitment/deep bond/deep love. Not all relationships make it through the chain. But there is a greater experience to be had that isn’t just stuck at infatuation. Intimacy is the greater experience between sexual desire and intimacy anyway! But as said elsewhere you don’t lose sexual attraction for your partner as you get more intimate. Intimacy adds to the experience.

One of the biggest and more subtle lies that underpins a lot of this thinking is that you as a man need to be competing to try and obtain a woman from the group of women who behave in a really hypergamous way.
