Ok I've read enough comments from people who don't have children. If you're going to do it then do it right after birth. The initial cut is painful (obviously) but it will heal quickly if you put a lot of Aquafor on the head before you put on his diaper but it won't bother him as long as you take care to keep it clean and covered on Vaseline.
