Most loud misandry comes from the left wing, but the right wing is perfectly content with traditional misandry, such as not caring for male victims and enforcing traditional gender roles.

..bet it's not.... But that's beside the point Unless you want to argue that mildly petite women aren't adults, yeah, that is the whole story. The drama blew up over a tweet about the "average male fantasy" and a cute romance moment between the protags.

Have you considered you know no man that trust you enough to open up about it? If you think we should be judgemental of men with perverted fictional fantasies but accept women doing that, I would be unsurprised if you've given off an "ick" that you probably aren't trustworthy to open up on this topic to. There is also the possibility you live somewhere where most men won't even classify their experience as rape or SA because men are not taught about their consent mattering.

From what I'm aware it's technically rape by the law, so even if your partner is and would be 100% ok with it I think it's reasonable some people are just really uncomfortable with it.

That's true, but to be fair, sometimes a comment talking about how the right wing doesn't care about men either will also get upvoted.

Because I don't think it was mobile games that were campaigned against in the 2010s

Is this after excluding mobile gamers? Ik a while ago that was notably female dominated (in english speaking places), but idk if that has changed.

These types of feminists protest domestic shelters for men and made the duluth model that remains to this day, I think the best you can say is the average good feminist is ignorant of what their radicals have done and haven't made much of an attempt to fix it.

Personally I think it's shakier ground. While I think men are hurt more by it, everyone is lonelier these days. There's also no direct solution to it. Imo it'd be better to focus on the lack of support for male victims/the legal systems bias towards men, but I think the reason male loneliness actually gets attention by the mainstream is because there's not a solution to it.

We don't live in the old times. I know it's easier to say than do, but live life for yourself. That old line of thinking makes you easy to use by the government whenever they want bodies for the meatgrinder anyways because your only value comes down to what you give. Don't define your worth based on women. If you live life focused on yourself and growing into the person you wish to be, it will likely take a while but you may find a woman who matches with you perfectly, but if you're stuck with y…

One, things like shelters get protested down and college speeches get fire alarms pulled. Two, this group is too small right now to have an impact, and no political party would be remotely interested in backing it (more likely both will vehemently oppose it). It's better to bide time as more people grow aware, stats come out, literature etc., and make a move when it can actually be effective. Personally I'm going into teaching elementary, and want to be the kind of teacher that'll help every stu…

Yes the scary manosphere is the big problem. Not the fact boys are doing worse and worse in school with little push for figuring out why? Not how boys are being raised surrounded by all this encouragement and support for girls while you're expected to man up, figure it out? More and more college seems like a thing where only women are wanted, I sure as hell never saw any push for men in female dominated fields growing up. Manosphere schemes working is a consequence to this, not the cause. Anythi…

Correct me if I'm misunderstanding but you say it needs to be more widespread? Should we wait till women are 75% of college students? 85%? It's worse now than it was a few decades ago, just in the other way.

The feminists who protest mens shelters? "Left wing" politicians burying male victims by classifying them under "violence against women and girls" statistics?

Assuming you aren't trolling: I will never understand feminists not putting 2 and 2 together on claiming they care about men's feelings, but ignoring all criticism of their message. Look, "the good ones" don't put nearly enough effort in silencing their "bad ones" (who make actual impact by protesting shelters and stifling progress and conversations). So yeah, men often don't take your patriarchy talk seriously. It doesn't help most men through history were chained to their gender roles with shi…

The vast majority of the time feminism talks about men's issues it's just to blame men. Never the rich or how society had to be to survive, just blaming men, and ignoring the things women do in the modern day contributing.

>If you want to be big boss lady, doesn't it stand to reason that you should be finding a nurturing, tender natured man who will keep house and home and support your career?" If I'm not mistaken this is another complaint of feminism, that there are not enough men who can step outside their prescribed gender roles to take up more caretaking / domestic labor... If it worked you'd see it pop up more, but the reality is a lot of progressive women still want a traditional man, but don't want to admit…

I agree with your point but I highly doubt using her to get medical reforms is gonna work. Even if that somehow worked it'd likely be women focused.

Porn will stay for the same reason alcohol and smokes will stay, it's a vice that helps the masses cope. I think the reason women are "blamed" more about this topic is because it's normally feminists or women complaining.

When feminists do any kind of self policing instead of going "erm achhtuuallly feminism is abot equality"? The reality is feminism stops any progress for men by lying about helping and saying everything else is just incel stuff, and until that idea dies the average feminist is in the way of progress, unintentionally or not, by trying to sweep it under the rug.

Yeah but in a case where there's no better evidence either side what can you do? (outside of not starting a trial with no evidence to begin with)

There's probably plenty of teen girls that want to fuck their male teachers, do you want to argue that it's ok? The fact teenagers are going through a ton of hormones means they should be protected, not given to pedophiles.

As far as I'm aware in western culture FGM is illegal, but despite all health risks proven wrong MGM is still done despite the potential consequences to it. Part of it is "my body my choice" consent which is enough of a reason imo, but there's also times it's botched and a man grows up with a large issue over his parents cosmetic choice...
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/04/24 06:14 AM

Yeah I think this is important to keep in mind. There are a lot of men who are happy to be masculine, the issue is it seeming mandatory.

Sigma is basically like a type of man who works on himself instead of trying to be with women (the sigma grindset) but it's much more of a meme then a serious thing.

that fact you think right-wing conservatives care less about men's rights than left-wing feminists speaks volumes Where did he say that? You can be both anti conservative and anti feminism (for example, me).

I just don't view feminism in the same light that you do I suppose. Though I agree on it being society as a whole causing the problem, not just women and not just men. So I'll just leave it at that.

I'm saying the naming of toxic masculinity is stupid, that was actually my original point. That it's hard to trust feminism when it's using more negative naming for the male version along with it's other misandrist actions. You then replied saying feminism does care and saying toxic masculinity is about the gender roles enforced on men, without addressing the sexist naming or the fact it's hard to trust that feminism does care. Also with that extra clarification the story with your dad sounds a …
/r/MensRights31/05/21 05:55 PM

You ignored my points and just reiterated yourself by saying toxic masculinity isn't sexist just trust feminism. Wording matters, especially with many viewing feminism as misandrist. There isn't a reason to have a more negative name to the male version other then sexism. The thing about your dad is just abusive parenting, the only "toxic masculinity" part is his refusal to get help. I hope things are better for you now though.

Right, women can internalize misogyny and toxic masculinity as well It's right there- RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU and you STILL don't see it. Why the FUCK would anybody take "toxic masculinity" as not sexist when it's mostly the different gendered version of internalized misogyny with a much more negative connotation. Oh right, men should shut up about their feelings and trust feminism yeah~~? The Duluth model, protesting men shelters, and blaming all of men's problems on men are clear examples of fem…

For the rich yes, for the poor/average no because they could be drafted at any time and had the expectation to provide for their families (though there has been times the poor had to have the whole family work). Here in America many women didn't want the right to vote because they thought they'd have to be drafted. Saying that men have more power then women in general when it only really applies to the rich feels disingenuous (is that the right word?). The normal people had their roles they coul…

To me what he said implies most women don't have critical thinking skills. Now if he thinks most people lack thinking skills fair enough but without that clarification it looks really sexist.

Yeah I think in relationships it's "listen for my no" instead of "ask for my yes". Exceptions if one partner has problems saying no for whatever reason.

it's kinda victim shaming It is victim shaming, if it was really about helping men it would've been called internalized misandry. Everything hits right on the mark though.

I guess the core of this is a disagreement in what unfair generalization is. I think women normally bully through reputation destruction and men by violence is fair, men are more likely to use violence due to having more strength and women are more capable of destroying a reputation (People being more likely to believe/want to protect women, at least here in America, false rape allegations being an extreme example). To me it would be unfair if you say all/most women are manipulators or all/most …

I said bullying isn't gender specific. The comment is gender specific in talking about HOW women bully. The sentence "men bully by violence and intimidation" would be the same. It could be clearer but it's talking about how the genders normally bully when they do.

Bullying isn't gender specific, the commenter was making a statement on HOW women who are bullies bully. which can be seen by the segment you specifically cut out Women are bullies by reputation destruction. This is a highly robust and validated fact. You could argue maybe he needed to be clearer but cutting out an important part of the quote is disingenuous (I believe is the word)

A feminist cannot be a misandrist, so, which one am I? I feel like copy pasting the big ol' "no true feminist" thing would be a bit much so I'll just say yes you can. Technically you can also be a misandrist MRA by being in a weird middle ground where you hate men but believe in equal rights.

IMO the difference is man hating feminists have most of the power and following of the movement where woman hating MRAs don't have much power or as much of a following but both sides have a problem with this.
