The goal is to lead her away from questions that can be answered with yes/no, and get her to talk about herself. Ask her about what places she visited that she found nice, or what experiences made her feel the people are friendly and welcoming. Then, if you're still getting one-sentence answers, Berlin probably isn't a topic she wants to talk about with you, pivot to something else.
