My divorce almost killed me. Lost 30+ lbs in 3 weeks. Destroyed my retirement plans, etc. But so worth it after finding final wife. She is hardworking, smart and loyal. Ex is poor and alone 20 years later. It damaged my health for awhile

40 seems to be the magic number. They go crazy. Mine did. Almost 20 years later my kids don’t like her and she lives near poverty. Her sisters, all divorced, talked her into it. I found a good woman and we are set to retire comfortably soon. Women need to hold each other accountable for this stupid trend.

I told my 2ND wife to tell me exactly what she wants and she would get it. Men are direct communicators, not mind readers. My ex would hold it against me forever and poisoned that relationship.

You are a good man. Be there for him. Things will slowly turn your way. My daughters made it. Your son will be great with you being a good example

Thank you. My ex threatened to falsely accuse me of sexually assaulting my daughters to get what she wanted in our divorce. She got custody. Neither of my daughters talk to her now after she stole money from their teenage bank accounts. I have a great relationship with them.

There is no alimony in Texas. Just limited spousal support. https://texaslawhelp.org/article/spousal-maintenance-alimony My ex tried to. But she made the mistake of taking a job just before filing against me. Touche’

This has always been a mystery to me. I give my wife plenty of physical contact. But it is not reciprocated. Makes me sad.

Nope. Had to stay. Was living off my child support.

And that is what I used to stop my ex from moving my girls away. The courts will stop it.

Loneliness. Plus with my first marriage of 20 years I learned what to look for and Luckily my second is going very well after 16 years. But today I probably wouldn’t with the current feminism. It is a roll of the dice.

My divorce cost my kids a stable life, added 10 years longer until retirement and half what I expected to retire on. Luckily my kids have mostly recovered and i luckily found an honest woman. I wish divorce by a cheating wife on no one.

Wow. My ex to a T. I got a great new wife and she lives single in semi poverty.

After child support ended I never talked to her again. Did not even acknowledge her at my daughters college graduation. I take great satisfaction in knowing that she lives in almost poverty and she probably sees my new wife and I traveling the world. She picked this life. Living well is the best revenge. The grass was not greener on the other side. Never talk to them. Move on. They live on drama.

My first marriage was 20 years and she left because she was not happy. Was a blessing in disguise. We were too young when we married. We both grew into very different people and values. Now in 2nd marriage for 16 and could not be happier. Found a mature, hard worker and same values. We are going to have a great retirement My ex is not doing well. Not my problem. I wish you the very best. Communication and understanding that you marry for honesty, friendship and not for temporary lust and “Tingle…

True. Was divorced at 43. At church I was in demand. Solid men are hot property. My current wife shared my values and a great partner. Be picky.

I figured my divorce and child support cost me near $500k. Lost 1/2 my retirement and added 10 more years before I can possibly retire. Still burns. All because I didn’t give her the tingle anymore

Ditto what he said. Same experience. Let her go and love your kids. Keep records of everything Once she got a cocky lawyer everything went to hell. Cost the kids college fund for legal costs.

My ex dropped off my girls all the time with old clothes and shoes and them not having any dental or health care. EVEN THOUGH I was paying $1250/month for child support AND paying for health, dental, and eye insurance. They still have health issues due to my ex not taking care of it. --- still angry

This happened to me. Once the kids were born I was number 10 on the priority list. I was the wallet. She stayed at home for 4 years and got bored and then divorced me. The kids suffered. My two cents. Good luck sir.

When your wife of 20 years filed for divorce and gets the kids, gets half of everything you worked for all your life and then gets half your paycheck for child support. It took me 5 years to mentally and financially recover to where I was no longer the Walking Dead.

Last time this happened to me I just happened to be laid off. So I went to the Child Support hearing and they did not raise my payment... But the didn't lower it either. Because "I have a history and capability of earning the same amount in a new job" Even though I was out of work. Thank God that ended 2 years ago. I am done.

Get rid of the horrible VA medical system and give the vets a platinum private healthcare plan. Better care and better doctors. Bout damn time.

Pay yourself FIRST. Learn to live on your first pay and save and invest all raises afterwards. Avoid Credit Cards if possible or pay them off each month. Maximize your 401k matching and add to it Tax Free. Oh...NEVER GET MARRIED. I would be a millionaire if not for my first wife. Bitch. That is all.

In May of this last year I finally finished my Child Support payments. Was $1250/month. I could have bought a 2nd house. I figure after splitting my 401k, the house, accounts and all of the Child Support I am out over $400k. Don't get married or have children unless you want to run the risk of being poor. My retirement has been pushed out 10-25 years because of her.

VERY rare per my lawyer. And I got divorced here in Texas.

No alimony here in Texas. There is Spousal Support, but the woman has to prove she has not worked for like 4 years and has no marketable skills to get it. Luckily my ex got a job before she served me with papers.

My ex did this in order to try and set me up for DV before she served me with divorce papers. Don't play that game. You are being set up.

You guys are so lucky to learn early. Married at 22 to an 18 year old. Married 20 years. Sex died quickly. Except for when she wanted kids. She stayed at home the last 4 years of our marriage with our youngest. Only to cheat on me online, get fat, and let our 2500 sq ft home become a dust pit. Divorced me. Took half my 401k and other assets. 10 years later finished child support. Roughly $500k in lost income. So here I am at 55. Retirement postponed a minimum 10-15 years. Don't do it!!!!!!!
/r/MGTOW03/09/17 02:52 PM

Luckily in Texas the woman cannot get alimony if she has any work history in the last 4 years of the marriage. She is deemed employable. I wish all states did this. My ex tried to get an additional $500 per month spousal support....Judge shot that down quick.

I always did cash only IT work for people on the side. During my Divorce I had a friend that opened up a savings account under his name and made me a cosigner on it so I could deposit my money there. No. I am a stepfather to 2 boys. Run. You will never be a high priority to her and you will never be able to discipline the kid, creating a spoiled broken child. You will be told constantly that you have no say as you are not the father, even though you stepped in and agreed to the financial and head of the family. Been there.

When my ex wife took my kids and half of every thing I had worked 40 years to achieve I quit eating for almost 3 weeks until I heard my mother crying for me. Let that sink in. I had lost 38 lbs. my parents helped me. I am in a much better place 15 years later. But the continued destruction of families by women being convinced by their peers that the divorced life is fun hurt a lot of people. My kids especially. I am sure there are a lot of men that did not have the support I had and did not make…

We appreciate the interest. We take pride in our ability to bear the heat and play golf all winter while the northerners dig out of their snowstorms. Now granted some of the golf courses (pastures) has dung heaps from our longhorns, we are allowed to drop and hit from another spot.

I kicked my kids out. We offered them the option of stay with us while in college or move out. Otherwise they would have never moved on with their lives. You are being selfish if some of you don't consider that your parents are tired of you also. Our food and utility bills cut in half after they left.

The Divorce happened when my oldest was 10 and the youngest was 5. When the oldest hit around 14-15 she got the Typical teenage hormones and along with momma wanting her as an only/best friend poisoned her. Until... Said daughter when to savings account to move out and start college and it was empty. Momma took it and said it was for rent, etc. Her eyes were opened and I was no longer evil. The youngest has always been close to me. She also saw all this happening. Karma always comes around.

Ditto on not being nice in Divorce court...they WILL be coming after your blood and money. I don't care how nice you think you are being, they will take what you give them and ask for more. I was too nice and got screwed. Defend yourself and the FUTURE of your family. That is what you are doing, protecting your assets for the betterment of your family. She is not looking out for them, you are.

This is so right on....had it happen to me. Once the divorce is started there is NO mercy. I am only 6 months from finishing my child support forever!!!! She took half of everything and added 10-15 years to my working life before I can retire. BUT, my life got MUCH MUCH happier after that happened. I had no idea how much pain she was causing me. Even better is that my wife retired from the airlines at 50, and she went back to college and is only 2 semesters from graduation with a bachelors. Her second career. Been very tough financially but it will pay off. Never too late.

I went back, got my associates then my bachelors. I actually found it easier to do since my mindset had changed. Less distractions like girls, etc. Granted it took some time from my family but they have benefited from it. Never stop learning bud. It doubled my earning potential.

YES!! I petitioned the court to garnish my own wages because I NEVER wanted her to come back and say I had not paid her. It has worked extremely well. The children are in their teens, they do not require a full time at home mom. It would cost me a minimum of 10k to go in front of a judge to get a reduction from $1300 to maybe, what?, $800-1000? per month??? They have twice come to my house with Lice in their hair. It is almost over thank goodness...

Yep, man works his whole life building a business/retirement and someone can get married to them, live a wonderful life because of his work, then take 1/2 of it in one stroke. Yep, the world is fair to men. Oh, and I can say it because it happened to me.
