Especially with the CSI-effect, which appears to be very real (scroll down to Juror Expectations for Forensic Evidence), juries want tangible evidence. I would say that this benefits us, as men, in this particular situation. The Jury's demand for evidence competes with intangible ideas such as victimhood. However, like anything, this can backfire. However, I think I'll stick by my argument that there is likely some psychological trauma that will show through to an experienced cop or detective. Totally guessing here though. However, a police officer in Orlando (and everywhere hopefully) is more likely to think twice before blindly accepting that the woman was indeed a rape victim.
