Ugh, this used to be me and my ex. I was picking out his office outfits, cleaning for him, writing his job applications, packing his lunch, buying his family Christmas gifts from him, organizing his schedule... When my current boyfriend asks for any of those things, I literally laugh him in the face - unless it is something he willingly and frequently does for me. It's a much healthier dynamic.

I've never understood the sexualization of women's HAIR. It literally has nothing to do with anything remotely related to sex, which would at least explain a tad bit of this fucked up behavior. Imagine if we categorized men into stereotypes based on hair color/and type the way they do women... "Ooh, ginger men are fiery, wild, kinky gigolos!" "Men without hats are promiscuous, unholy, and bring shame to their family!" "Little boys in school uniforms with short hair cuts - hmm.. great costume for…

I wholeheartedly agree. Mental health issues are nothing to be ashamed of overall and should be talked about much more. And seeking help and receiving help is a sign of strength, for sure.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I hope you are taking good care of yourself. And wtf: "let me try to fix you with my dick!" Sure Nate, great idea. Truly healing... The audacity of some of these men should not baffle me but still continues to do so nearly every single day.

Exactly. Like, sure, take your anger and depressive emotional state and distribute it back into the dating pool. Super healthy. /s If you need psychological help, get a professional, not a Tinder date.

Yes, girl. Good for you! There is truely nothing wrong with having emotional struggles, we all have them. There is just something wrong with expecting your date/counterpart to fix them for you.

I could not agree more. This should be brought up as a prime example of what we women mean when we reference emotional labor. I highly doubt mens magazines are like "she might have been raped by her daddy, and discriminated against in her career - it is now your job to fix her!" I am so done with this culture.

LVW = someone who doesn't bring much value to the table AND is not taking active steps to improve her situation. Value can be looks, education, career, ambition, ethics, values, certain qualities, certain skills, money, power, assets, social circle, fitness etc. Pickmeisha = someone who will compromise her boundaries, values, standards or even alter her personality in order to obtain the attention/affection of a potential partner. A woman can be none of these things (and by deduction of high val…

He's overly vocal about his political opinions on Facebook. He is my height. I wish he was a bit taller, but I am a tall woman myself. He sweats buckets when cycling to/from work or working out, which can be offputting at times, but also has impeccable hygiene, so I can deal. He sometimes proposes scandalous home improvement solutions. He wanted a bigger fridge that couldn't fit in the kitchen, so he wanted us to put one in my tastefully decorated dining room. Hard pass. He has a hard time throw…
