You have not established your premise. Where is the evidence that dark triad traits are increasing? If so, is it due to the dating market? There definitely is a link between social media and rising rates of anxiety, depression, and body dysmorphia. Dark triad traits seem suited for influencers and the social media age. That being said there are psychologically healthy, attractive people out there. Why shouldn't they pursue other attractive healthy people? I don't want to settle for or use anyone…

This article does not say what you are claiming. When the makeup and clothing is stripped away, those with dark triad traits were not more physically attractive than everyone else. Instead they are better at manipulating their perceived attractiveness. They spend more time on their appearance. The dark triad score was positively correlated with their “dressed-up” attractiveness – a finding that mirrors previous findings. However, the dark triad score was not related to ratings of physical attrac…

Understandable, but it further exacerbates the problem. I suffer from mental illness and have gotten good care from women in the past, so my experience has not been so bleak. I do know a few men from support groups that have been treated as a violent predator while seeking services, which has completely soured them on the experience. One man in particular has said he will never be hospitalized again. He distrusts the medical community so much that his current plan is OD or suicide by cop. He is …

though criminals likely have other issues at play. A large percentage of criminals are sociopaths that do not have the neural structures for empathy. They can be taught pro social behaviors as long as it benefits them, but not true empathy.

Fun doesn't help constructive, positive evolution. Yes it does actually. I don't know if you have any interest in neuroscience, but humans learn more from fun playful activities. 'Play' is also pro social and helps create stronger community bonds. It's no great revelation that 'fun' people are liked more.

I agree with your overall sentiment that we should not stereotype all people who are overweight. Some people gain weight more easily, and when they do it's not distributed in the most attractive ways. Some people carry their weight better. Someone like yourself with a fast metabolism does not need to work as hard to maintain a healthy weight. I get it. If you look at the trends in American lifestyle though, and the numbers of people who are overweight, it's not just genetics. We eat like shit. W…

And women being fat doesn’t mean they’re unattractive at all. Some of the most beautiful women I’ve seen have been fat. I don't necessarily disagree with this, although I think those women would probably be even more attractive at a lower weight, but depends on how fat we are talking. And most fat people hit the gym way more than you and me and have better eating habits. This makes no sense. Yes genetics matter, yes metabolisms vary, but excess calories make you fat. I know I got super fat from …

As an outside observer I read this conversation and I appreciate you both very much. Good faith conversation is lacking in social media, and I am hopeful when I read such exchanges. I also have been watching some of the links you posted and thanks for that as well! I was actually meaning to learn more about attachment theory, so this was a nice introduction (still haven't finished the whole video).

That's why I used the term generally. Comparing a college girl's libido with an old man whose dick doesn't work is pointless. Libido changes throughout everyone's life for all number of reasons. None of that changes the fact that arousal for women on average is different than arousal for men on average.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/21 08:15 AM
3

That's not what he said. He said woman are more reactive and not spontaneously horny as much as men. When horny they may be just as horny as men, if not even more so, but the conditions for arousal are different. Men's bar for arousal is generally much lower.

I don't follow your logic here. Yes it's true she is still seeking out new experiences, but isn't everyone? There is no end point for experience. She is still exploring, but from a base of some experience. It's not virgin or super slut. Like if I go to a restaurant and see an item I have never tried before I have some idea if I will like it or not based on the ingredients. If the menu is in a foreign language and I'm only going off the waiters recommendation, it's a much riskier bet.

It is true because I am talking about an actual person. She married a guy as a virgin. He was her first everything, but that does not mean they tried everything. They had a disappointing sex life and are now divorced. Since being single again, her outlook is more selfish and she has sought out new experiences she never had with her ex-husband. Kinks she was interested in, that he was not. So yeah the new guys don't get blowjobs, but they do get experiences the ex never had. He might not care, be…

Getting a bad blowjob that she hated seems like a weird flex. She is also no longer with that guy, and her current partner got to experience sex acts the old guy never did. Things she actually enjoys doing because she is more experienced and self aware.

their lack of experience was a massive turn-off in every way. Totally agree. If they have no experience, everything you try will be their first time. Sure this can be 'special', but it also means you are the guy who is going to experience all the stuff they don't like too. I have a friend who hates giving blowjobs. She is just not going to do it. She is honest with guys, and knows it's a deal breaker for some. She didn't always know this though. Would you rather be the guy who's dick she never s…

140 lbs is not unhealthy, but without knowing his body composition it's not necessarily healthy either. +10 lbs of lean muscle mass would probably be healthier and 5'10" 150 is still quite lean. OP is concerned about looking too young. Upper body muscle mass will make him look more masculine. There is a huge spectrum between 'nice shoulders' and 'roided out'. when you're in your twenties none of those things are concerns. They should be. I agree with what you are saying here, but just wanted to add that sugar, especially from drinks is a co conspirator. Processed vegetable oils are very pro inflammatory and added to most processed foods increasing the calorie density of the item. The addition of these artificial oils to the diet tracks almost perfectly with the rising obesity rates. Processed sugar is a problem though. not caring what women like in general makes no evolutionary sense. Reproduction (and thus evolution) does not operate by being attractive in a general sense. It is very much about being attractive to the specific people you can have sex with.

The big difference is a large percent of the 60% who didn't pass on their genes died in childhood or were killed by the 40% who did.

The short genes are still in the kids. If they procreate with other kids from similar parents some of those kids will be short. Height is highly genetic, but it's thousands of different genes so it's not as straight forward as other traits, but as long as people with those genes, men or women, continue to pass them on the gene is still in the population. Outside of clear genetic disorders, there are no 'alpha' and 'beta' genes. Some future pandemic might be lethal to people with specific 'tall' …

That's not how genetics work. For example: male pattern baldness. It is a trait on the X chromosome and inherited from the mother. The only way to eliminate it would be to remove women from the gene pool. If bald men did not breed there would be less of these women over time, but as it is a recessive trait a women with the bald gene has a 50% chance to pass it on to her daughters. With only one copy of the gene the women have no ill effects and continue to pass it on to future generations. The o…

The FWB arrangement is something I haven’t thought of before. I mean, sex isn’t what I need at all, but I’d wanna get closer to him in any way... Don't do this. You know it's not what you want, and it will just make things more painful when it ends. You said in another comment you lack a support system, which I think is the real problem. If you are 17, how are things at school? Do you have friends? Do they have counseling services?

I am not a male feminist, just a realist. OP is a small nerd. Shit is going to be hard for him in dating no matter what. He thinks he is "doing everything right", but doesn't understand that women aren't impressed by programming and robotics. Life is not fair, and dating is especially unfair. He doesn't have to compromise anything, but if he wants more success he should better understand the marketplace.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/21 12:31 AM

They give those answers publicly also. Then what are women never willing to admit? Stop coddling men like op. Programming and robotics is not making any panties wet.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/21 11:30 PM

I am a man. But, no woman has ever admitted to that, ever. In public women will give the PC answers about wanting a kind gentleman, but in private they will totally admit to denying a guy because he is short or boring or whatever. It makes sense to me. We aren't always rational creatures. I know the cheeseburger and fries is not the healthiest choice, but it's way more fun than a kale salad with tuna.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/21 11:01 PM

It is much easier for women to get dates. Online dating has skewed that even more, but it's not really a new thing. Men pursuing women is the historical norm. A women can be extremely boring, but as long as she is average looking some number of men will go after her. The reverse doesn't happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/21 10:43 PM

I don't think I have ever said that women have it worse. No one has to change anything. Keep doing whatever hobbies you love. If you are a man who is surrounded by men at work, and then surrounded by men in your hobby groups attracting women is going to be harder. There are women into robotics as well, they are just more rare. It's just a numbers thing. You have to be realistic and maximize your opportunities.

Women have a lower threshold for disgust in general as well. Some of that can be attributed to difference in personality types. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0191886998001962?via%3Dihub

I think that's an excellent point. Not only is marriage optional, it changes the calculation of who the 'best' available man is. A middle class guy in the past had more resources than the majority of women who could not work, or were stuck in low paying careers. Now he has roughly the same as the women in his class. His relative value has gone down.

I don't disagree. Pollution is a societal problem that requires a societal solution. Health care costs are insane and some kind of reform is necessary. Most of our environment is out of our control. If you live in a food dessert and work three jobs your options are limited. Our society is making people ill, and lots of people are suffering. Most people are in the middle though. They have some small control of their own personal environment. Individual change is possible in the narrow band of con…

I understand what you are saying and agree that it is not easy. I also don't think it's a matter of individual will power. It's a matter of lifestyle. What I mean by "eat less and move more" is the biomechanics of weight loss are pretty straight forward from a physical stand point. It is a lot more nuanced than "calories in, calories out" but the basic premise is sound. How they achieve that is a lot more complex, but like captive monkey's we are not in an ideal health environment. Cheap addicti…

Thanks for the articles, they were a good read. Endocrine disruptors do make a lot of sense and pair well with the decrease in testosterone on average. I can see that as the most likely reason. It would be interesting to see the distribution of weight by age with these primates. They would date men who are in their league. Historically this is exactly what happened. Women want the best they can get from their pool of options. Most chose someone in the same economic class and on their looks level. If they held out too long, they would be an 'old maid' at 28. The difference now is the pool is much larger.

I do not know the specific monkeys you are talking about so it would be all conjecture on my part. Maybe it's their diet, stress level, activity level etc. In captivity they are not foraging for their own food, climbing 50' trees, swinging through canopies, etc. They are also not running from predators. They are being consistently fed, which is pretty rare in nature. We gain fat so easily because famine was a routine part of our ancestors lives. The final thing I will add is that it might be a s…

It's probably both. No one knows for sure what our evolutionary past looks like, but based on hunter gatherer groups, serial monogamy (with some cheating) seems to be the norm. A woman would probably only meet a few hundred men in her entire lifetime so her criteria would be way different. Everyone knows everyone, and if one man wanted multiple wives he had to be able to defend them. If Chad fucks around too much, he might just go 'missing' on a hunt. "Good genes" and "bad genes" aren't really apparent though. Maybe Chad with "good genes" is predisposed to heart disease or Alzheimer's. Maybe he has certain genes related to addiction or mental illness. Those things won't become apparent right away. You also have to factor in immune system response and novel viruses or illness. Any statistics expert will tell you that is not how social trends work. If someone looked at this same chart in the early 70's they might have said "meeting at work is the way of the future!" They would have been wrong. In the same way, meeting in real life will never be zero. There is a limit where online dating will plateau. I don't know what that number is, maybe it will be 80%, but it will never be 100%. Why are you speaking in such hyperbolic language? Do you work for tinder or something? T…

I did not tout anything as the better solution. https://www.pnas.org/content/pnas/116/36/17753/F1.large.jpg Meeting in bars and restaurants is not online and also not meeting through personal contacts and connections. Chad must not have been able to unfold his true potential in the past. Yeah basically. Chad has never had problems getting laid at any time in history, but things are easier for him than ever before. If Chad sleeps with all the hot girls in school, word gets out. Pretty soon there are women who would want to be with him, but don't want to be another notch on his belt. Same thing at the nightclub. That study shows 39% meeting online, meaning the majority still meet irl. They have the real life options broken down into multiple categories with "meeting in school" being the biggest drop. Almost all the real life meeting strategies went down except for meeting in bars and restaurants. Yeah everyone needs long term plans. Sex workers even more so. It's an extremely high risk, potentially high reward business. Less than 10 messages/person/day isn't really that much. Texting is a less efficient way to communicate. Less effort, less investment and more likely to be misconstrued. Voice/video will tell you so much more about a person in much less time. Like I said in my first reply, it's a numbers game. I personally do not ascribe to the red pill, I just think your argument is shit and your steroid use is hypocritical in regards to this topic. "Human personality is 30–60% heritable according to twin and adoption studies." https://www.nature.com/articles/s41380-018-0263-6 Behavior absolutely can be changed as well, or else Cognitive Behavioral Therapy wouldn't be standard treatment in psychology.

Eh.. I highly doubt this. I recently met a woman who makes most of her money on Onlyfans. She is into the poly lifestyle and seems like her long-term boyfriend just puts up with her fucking whoever she wants. The guy has probably had threesome's, but anyone with $10 can see her sucking a few different dicks.

I can secure it though. So can you. It's really not that hard.

It's really not a goal of mine. I truly would rather have sex with one woman at a time. It's less distracting and I enjoy it more.

Most men want the fantasy of the two sorority girls. I strongly disagree that most men want the reality of just any old threesome. I would much rather have sex with one woman I was really attracted to, than two that I found hideous. By your framing the number is all that matters, and I think you are off base.

Then I go back to my original point that it's too varied to be much of an accomplishment. A guy who hangs out in the right environment is going to have a much easier time making this happen. Having a threesome with coked out strippers is not the same experience as having a threesome with your middle aged wife and a middle aged women you guys met online. The college football star having a threesome with two sorority girls that just want to experiment is something else. They are all threesome's th…

What does "obtaining it genuinely" mean though? Two women throw themselves at some guy? If you hang with people that party a lot and experiment with drugs you can have a threesome. Is that genuine? If you are in a LTR, but are both into swinging, you can have a threesome. A sex worker I knew was going to have a threesome with some friend of hers, because she was bored. The guy ended up having massive anxiety and erectile dysfunction. I don't think this got thought it was some huge success.

Sure, my whole suggestion is that by picking an actual place, preferably an indie cafe or something, he knows exactly what the price is going to be. You are right that simple is better, but open ended is where he is getting in trouble.

How is that too much info? Also, yeah it would be weird to start a conversation like that, but... you wouldn't suggest Starbucks. "I just found out about this popup dessert place that does mango and sticky rice, do you want to check it out with me?" <- this is a real place I am going to try out because I like mango. Maybe she's not into it, but it's not generic, I am being honest and it starts a conversation.

Promiscuous people? I don't really know how to answer the question, because different types of people do stuff like this. A mid 40's couple in the swinging scene could set this up, or a good looking guy in college might be able to. Someone who goes to lots of raves and does ecstasy, should be able to do it too. I am no expert in threesome's, but it's a strange bar for success when any man with money can just hire two women to have a threesome. Does that count? The same friend was a bouncer at a …

You're leaving to much of the decision up to them. "I want to take you out" is an open invitation. Most people will choose better ($$) options if you let them. "I want to take you out for coffee" or better yet "I want to take you to this cool bar/restaurant/cafe I know" is more concrete. You know how much it's going to cost, and if you suggest a place you actually like it will display something about your personality.

I think this has more to do with the type of people you are hanging out with. I have a friend who dated strippers for awhile. As many threesome's as he wanted because he was fucking sex workers. Any man who can get access to cocaine and some good parties can have threesome's. Maybe the value is knowing how to get into those sort of parties, but just having a threesome doesn't mean it's with a women other men would envy.

Or attractive people are seen as more attractive as they understand social norms better and thus take more care of their appearance, hygiene and vibe. Are you really saying that all attraction is behavior based? Some things really are just genetic, for men or women. Yes, anyone who grooms well, eats healthy, works out, and has a good "vibe" will be better off than if they did nothing. That doesn't change the fact that certain things are just out of our control. The 6'2" guy with a full head of h…

Fasting has been practiced since the beginning of humanity. We are evolved to feast and fast. Cultures all over the world have ritualized fasting and practiced it for millennia. Periodic fasting is good for you, and the historical norm. Eating all day every day is the historical anomaly.

I think this is mostly an online thing. I am 5'8" and taller than most women I meet. I even had someone argue with me that I am actually 5'10". In real-world scenarios most people suck at spatial relations and a few inches doesn't really matter. Online it is quantified as a number that can be filtered much more quickly. In person a woman isn't going to know or care that the 5'11 1/2" isn't actually 6', online that guy is eliminated. I will also add that height is normally distributed, so women w…

The problem is you will never see most men admit that "bad men" are drawn to and target specific women, they think women intentionally sniff them out like bloodhounds. Really? As a man I have actively warned my sister/cousins/woman friends about guys like these. Some times they listen other times I am being a buzz kill who is ruining their fun. For better or worse these guys usually are super fun in the beginning.

That's not how evolution works though. Ugly men still have sisters. Their nieces and nephews have 1/4 of their genes, so as long as their ugly sister can get pregnant their genes will still be passed on. In order for 'ugly' genes to disappear both ugly men and women would have to stop procreating. There is also the case that what is attractive in a woman is not attractive in a man, so sometimes super hot and famous couples have weird looking kids. A giant super masculine guy is more likely to ha…

She got found out because the boys started sharing the links in class. Teenagers are assholes, and while her teaching abilities did not change her history was causing a disturbance for the classroom as a whole. The learning environment degraded. Her value as a teacher was diminished. These were things outside of her control and that may be unfair, but she was not able to do her job as well. Do you really believe you could convince teenage boys to not look at and share porn of their teacher? In t…

All societies impose rules on people. That is the nature of society. I agree that lots of things can and probably will change but there will always be social rules that individually we don't like. If this particular case bothers you feel free to date porn stars and advocate sex work. I disagree that these women are being punished like criminals. Do you really expect a teacher to be able to command the respect of middle School boys who have seen her having sex? I feel bad for her, but realistical…

People don't naturally loose social value, it's imposed by other people What? Social value is completely determined by other people regardless of motivation. Social value is literally a social construct. That doesn't mean it doesn't matter though. Laws are a social construct, but they still have real world ramifications. Right or wrong, moral or immoral she suffered a real material loss. Should she have? I am not a lawyer or philosopher so I can't answer that. Whether you believe she lost social…

Their experiences do not affect their value. So degrees and resumes are pointless? If you want to define value as some innate human quality then sure, but we are all assigned social, economic, and sexual value all the time. Our experience or lack thereof absolutely effect that.

Men (IN GENERAL) don't commit to prostitutes or strippers because it's not SOCIALLY advantageous to do so. Yes, so therefore these women have lost social power. It's an opportunity cost. They have lost potential job and relationship opportunities. There was a case a few years back of a middle school teacher who lost her job after her students found hardcore porn of her. She sued to get her job back and lost. Her porn history ruined her career. That is real material loss. Let's take it further an…

Sure, but this is just for casual sex so the difference is not that much. The guy in this scenario needs to date downwards because he can't even offer the promise of commitment. Let's say this couple are both 6's. Is she going to get 10's? Probably not, but there are plenty of 6's and 7's down for casual sex whenever she wants. She will never need to go after 5's. She has a 6 at home already. If she wants 8's and 9's yes it will be work, but again the article says at her level or above. Getting …

The quote actually says at her level or above. While she's waiting for that 8 she can still be fucking all the 7's she wants. She's in an open relationship, there is no exclusivity. It's not an either or. She is never going to consider the 3 because she doesn't ever have to.

And some girls here say they don't, either way what are you going to do about it? Pick anything about you and there is someone better. That's just the nature of having 7 billion humans. This applies to men and women. People have a variety of preferences and no partner fits them all perfectly. Maybe you want a woman with better skin or a nicer ass, but flat assed women with acne still get dates. They're still in the game, and so are you. Lesbians have no dicks and they still make women orgasm. I …

Bread and circus can keep things going for quite a while, and I don't think society will collapse, but two of those on your list have direct health outcomes. A fat drugged up population is easier to control, but less productive and more costly to care for. This puts increased demand on healthcare and raises costs. During this pandemic everyone is concerned about hospital beds. If less Americans were in such bad shape lots of hospital beds would be freed up. These people can also vote. If they vo…

It also depends on how long the wait is. A few dates? Sure. Until we're married? Not a chance. The attraction is either there or it isn't. I think wanting to discuss values and intentions is a great thing no matter the circumstances, but at 29 waiting 6 months to find there is no physical chemistry seems like a terrible idea.

Dude you're comparing porn to real life. I'm guessing you fantasize a woman with big tits, nice ass, tight pussy, no stretch marks, no cellulite etc. When I'm looking at porn I'm looking for above average in looks, why wouldn't women? You got what you got. You could be taller, more handsome, funnier, better career, more muscular. There is an endless amount of things you could be insecure about so focus on the ones who can actually improve. No one gets their fantasy. Just because I want a big set…

Having large portions of unemployed unsuccessful men is very dangerous for society. It's not about reproduction, it's about men who don't believe society works for them. Not only will these men not help preserve society they will actively try to tear it down. Think increased crime, increased riots.

I don't think that is the best comparison and her point is still valid. Hair, skin, breasts are all things a guy will see immediately. A better comparison would be what her vagina looks like, or stretch marks and cellulite. It all matters, including dick size, but as a guy if I'm to the point that I see that stuff I'm already attracted to her. This might drop my attraction but probably not to zero. So if a woman completely rejects you on the basis of dick size she wasn't that into you to begin w…

Porn is a visual medium, so the standards are different. Women might like to look at big dicks but that doesn't mean they will like how they actually feel. What if his dick is big, but he can't keep it up for long? What if it's actually too big and uncomfortable? I'm a guy so I'm only speaking from second hand experience, but compare it to breast implants. I've seen some that look really good, but I have never felt any that I liked more than the real thing.
