good advice. i guess i just need to add some sort of value, although i dont want to end up like #5 and be an orbiter. 1 - 4 are all obtainable and i just met a guy who throws parties, so thats cool

Even some of my closest friends in high school referred to me as "mysterious" (they didn't mean it as a compliment) simply because I rarely announce my intentions, explain my actions, or volunteer my thoughts. In what way now do you reveal you're intentions and explain your actions to people? i have the same trait of "mysterious but not in a good way", and i have a bad habit of doing that with people i want to be friends with. it's just that i'm in high school and everyone talks shit. as much as…

i was recently hired for a summer job. and i'm also starting a gym membership, that'll help. and i do wanna tell my dad about cheating on mom, but i need to plan it carefully because i dont want them to get mad and split up while they are taking care of 6 kids.

I do sometimes feel like I have autism/aspergers. But that might just be negative self-talk and depression making me feel that way. It's not like I show all the traits, but when i talk to certain people, it feels like i'm talking to a brick wall.

Now that you mention it, i do notice a lot of negative self-talk. i'm comparing myself to others constantly and it's hard to live in the moment because i put a lot of pressure on myelf to do better.

maybe it's just me...but my high school is very feminine to begin with lol. It's 70% asian. 60% female. Very hard to test into, most people go here to get straight As and go to Harvard (not me though haha). It's not really a normal high school I guess, there are A LOT of nerdy cliques and not many hypebeast/cool-kid ones, which isn't a bad thing, but it just means that dating is rare. I've literally gotten responses from multiple girls saying to me "my parents wouldn't let me have a boyfriend so…

Ok I shouldn't have used the word flirt in my question, because obviously I'm not doing it right. You're right, I can't just hand them stuff for free. I just have a hard time thinking of ways to escalate, but I'll go with what you did and make them do something next time.

I've read the sidebar. Haven't studied every word of it though. Is there something I'm missing? I'll read whatever it is if it'll help.

My younger brother acts like what you described...I wonder if he'll grow up being like this. You can't argue with him, he just won't shut up until he gets his way.

Oh nice, what are the steps you took during monk mode? My plan was to focus on no video games/social media so I have to time to work out and improve my body. I already have a decent social life, but I don't think I can juggle improving everything at the same time.

Alright I'm 16 and in high school (I know I'm young, but I can relate) and I'm kind of in a similar situation. Met this girl last year. Was cute, we got close, but I realized her personality was kind of awful, so I pushed her away for a week by not talking to her. She gets pissed and tries to steal all of my close friends by organizing hang outs without me, but it ultimately fails because everyone finds out she's been leaving me out. I talked to my friends about her because I was a little salty …

I think it's a good thing I'm young as long as I don't take everything too literally here. My goal isn't to have multiple sex buddies or anything like that. I just want to prepare for adulthood so I know what direction I will be going in life.

Very well written. Good explanation. I like your frame too, as I'm naturally a very calm, and friendly guy, but I want to remain calm when people or situations test me.

I just finished watching the whole thing. This helped me so much! Some of these things I already do when talking to people. But just letting the silence happen while urging through my expressions for the person to talk sounds like a really good way to do it. Of course I gotta make sure to be friendly at the same time, but nice advice!

Got it and like I said I'll work on being more manly from now on. Wasn't trying to be passive aggressive or whatever But what is amused mastery??

Yeah I'm only 16 and not man enough yet, but I'll try harder next time. Thanks for the advice!

You're right, she is very attention-seeking and also she is really talkative. I think if I give a positive vibe to her, then her reacting negatively only makes it look bad on her, not me. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you for this comment! I'm gonna try doing what's best for me! I used the term alpha and beta because I was originally wondering how long that would take for me to transition. But now I know that first I need to do what makes me happy and have consistent goals.

Yeah I'm not just trying to have sex, but it's just a goal of mine. I really do want to become a better person though and meet more people who I connect with. My current friends aren't even really my friends anymore because I've decided they don't meet my standards as fun people.
