Honey, they stop caring a long time before you start making changes—changes you wouldn’t even have considered making until it mattered to YOU, by the way. They stop caring because caring for you hurts them. They assume that you didn’t care, so they feel like they’re doing you a favor by leaving. The ones who walk away like this are surprised that you’re even interested in a relationship with them.

All of it—and I mean ALL of it—is that almost all marketing is directed at affluent white women.
