Yes!!! That’s probably WHY, if it’s true.

Leftists. Feminists. I was pretty SJW when I was 14 so I got brainwashed hard.

To be fair I was afraid to go to the police because of the propaganda that they wouldn’t help me. I was told literally to not go. Now that it’s too late I just don’t talk about it much. Honestly...I’m fine. Like it sucks that he’s still out there and shit but if he rapes someone else it’s not my fault.

I think it’d be smarter to use #MeToo because it’s already commonly used. And when people see it and go “omg this isn’t about men nobody cares about you getting raped!” they’ll certainly look like cunts.

It isn’t funny. It’s fucked up that you think this is funny.

Wow I can’t believe that’s a sub. Wtf.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people not doing that anymore. Which is cool. It’s still the norm but there’s been an increase in <$1,000 rings lately, and not getting on your knees to propose. Me and my SO intend on just buying our own cheap rings. I want to get a few cheap ones varying in fanciness so I can coordinate it with my outfits (formal, work, casual, etc).

I think the documentary is excellent if they’re willing to sit down and watch it. The fact that it’s produced by a(n ex) feminist helps.

That’s horrible, and counter-productive. Don’t cherry pick which injustices against men you’re cool with.

Just enough to be annoying. It was definitely people from Reddit cuz as soon as I blocked them (I’ve still been tweeting pro-men stuff) it stopped.

Why is it so impossible to believe? Like what is your actual reasoning? Sure it’s not comparable to black slaves or women in 3rd world countries but there are very clear injustices going on for both sexes.

Is it like the subreddit? Idk. It does make me uncomfortable. A lot of it is about how women are just inherently awful people, which is kinda what I’ve been doing as a feminist but towards men. But if it’s not like that or I was misunderstanding I’m game. I do support MGTOW’s main message, men shouldn’t have to be with women to feel complete.

Personally I don’t report it every time a guy is creepy unless it escalates to stalking or violence. It’s just not a big deal. If it’s online, block them. If it’s in public, go somewhere more safe if you feel like it’s gonna get bad. If it escalates, yes absolutely report it. But it’s just not worth my time to call the cops whenever someone says “nice tits” twice.

“Feminism is the radical notion that women are people” is what I was into. But, in feminist circles it’s hard to just stick with that. Women’s issues are important to me as a woman, mens issues are important to me as an empathetic human being.

Men experiencing sexism is equivalent to the earth being flat? Buddy...
/r/MensRights17/06/18 02:16 AM

Attacking feminists, no. Attacking feminism (ie pointing out what is problematic), yes. Women’s rights are important, but feminism is hurting everyone. It’s never going to make us equal.

Would you feel better if it was pictures? Text? A seminar? Why does what type of media it is matter? It’s a very well made documentary.

Thank you for all of this. I watched it because Shoe0nHead recommended it lol. When she said the producer was a feminist and that I should not avoid watching it based on the name, I was on board.

Also forgot to mention, Karen was my favorite female in the documentary. She’s fucking awesome. I’m subscribed to her on YouTube now.

I guess I’m scared of like...what else am I wrong about? It was something I was so certain about like evolution or the existence of the ocean. I feel like I just discovered that grass is purple and fish drive cars. Anything I know, especially morally, could be extremely wrong. I could be harming people with other beliefs and not even be aware. Edit: Another thing is I’m not that excellent at debating. Some statistics stick, but I also forget the exact numbers often. Via text it’s easy to google …

Any recommendations on MRAs to follow and start retweeting? I think it’d be easier for me to share someone else’s thoughts and say “I agree and here’s why” as opposed to just randomly saying “Here’s 300 reasons why I’m not a feminist anymore, also the patriarchy isn’t real, oh and listen to men”.

Thanks! I’ve told 2 friends (both men) about it and how I feel and they’ve been really really supportive. I think it’s really important to tell the men in my life that I understand better now. I’m gonna watch it again with them!

It’s about a feminist who speaks with men’s rights activists and changes her mind, basically. They talk about stuff such as suicide rates, intactivism, workplace death, objectification, and really how feminists just don’t care about men.

Fuck yeah!

I was never comfortable with “men are trash”, I went more with “men are frightening”. And every man was always a potential threat. I actually still struggle with that. I’m very small. Any of my male friends could choke me to death easy peasy, y’know? They won’t, but they could.
/r/MensRights16/06/18 09:54 PM

I’m a brown girl, and I’m able to accept the reality. Why can’t you? Just watch the documentary. It’s 2 hours long and $3.99.
/r/MensRights16/06/18 09:52 PM

It was my understanding that feminism is the “default” ideology for most people at the moment, and many MRAs are ex-feminists. At least that’s what I’ve gathered so far. I hope eventually I can change your mind. I’ll be posting a lot on this account.
/r/MensRights16/06/18 09:49 PM

I’ll gladly send a timestamp photo of myself to the mods if that’s something people are really worried about

Honestly it was mostly the protestors. Incest supporting? Rapists? Misogynists? Those rallies were about not being disposable...it really hurt to watch. I didn’t know feminists were screaming at MRAs at MRA events like that. Which made me realize that they truly don’t have a “safe space”. And that “safe spaces” are moreso about taking over for feminists so no one else has them. Aside from that I think the death statistics fucked me up the most. And the whole thing about how statues and honor are…

Yes! I am so fucking scared lmao. But it’s overshadowed by joy. So my brain is just kinda like bzzzrrrrtzzzz (scientific term).
/r/MensRights16/06/18 03:44 PM

That makes sense. So it’s basically just another facet of the whole all terms with male/men/masculine/paternal(patriarchy) are to demonize men thing?
/r/MensRights16/06/18 03:42 PM
28

Of course I still care about women and acknowledge our struggles as well! It’s just that it’s more “the world isn’t doing so good right now” as opposed to “men are evil”.

I’m curious as to why toxic masculinity is a bad term. I always saw it as a pro-men thing. Like how gender roles fuck men over too (you have to be strong, a provider, emotionless, etc). Maybe there’s just a better way to word it and toxic-masculinity is a loaded term?

This feels weird to say but luckily the majority of my IRL friends are dudes, and most of those dudes are white. The only family members I talk to (the rest are very very very Christian) are my dad, grandpa, and my brother and sister. So I think irl everything will be fine and they will be supportive. I know my dad is at least a closeted MRA (single dad, kinda hard for that to not happen).
/r/MensRights16/06/18 02:58 PM

I don’t intend on doing anything hostile or mean, I’m really really over that shit. But since MRA men are often not allowed in female spaces...I’m a girl so...I can easily talk to women about it. And I think it’s way easier for a man who’s not on board to be more open minded when a woman says “Hey, you actually have a pretty shit hand here” because then it doesn’t sound like I’m a “whiny dude”. So with that kind of power I feel some responsibility.

He has a right to be angry though and I can absolutely understand directing it at even a former feminist. The movement has hurt him deeply in ways that can never be taken back. I’m not going to hate myself over it but I’m not going to tell him “fuck you I’m a good person”. For a while I genuinely hated men because of bad experiences with specific men. It took a long time for that to go away, and even now...they still make me a bit nervous. And that’s not even hating an ideology that’s just me be…

I’m childfree and work as an independent contractor, come fuckin get me. I’ll just move to another platform if I’m “fired”. Wanna come after my family? I was raised by a single dad, who was made aware of this shit many many years ago. If my accounts get banned, bummer. But that’s not a huge deal. I think I have a fair chance. But idk, I will have to think on it for a while. I’m more confident rn than usual because I’m excited. Edit: Btw by independent contractor I mean I’m a content creator for …

Ugh that’s so fucked up though. I mean, I get it. This account is anonymous. But I feel like I have a little bit to lose and the movement has a lot to gain by women showing their faces as MRAs. We are a bit more immune to the rapist/woman-hater/misogynist/ignorant comments. Not completely but it’s seen less as a selfish stance when you’re a woman. Idk. I kinda want to try. Might start small and just throw “men’s rights” in my twitter bio and see if people flip their lids.

Tbh the fact that The Red Pill was made by a feminist was partly why I watched it. I felt like it was from a perspective I’d have no trouble understanding, and it really was! That helped a ton. She did an amazing thing by publishing that documentary.

I feel like I shouldn’t associate with people like that tbh. Sure they’re victims to the cult-like ideologies but...it’s toxic and that seeps into their personalities.
/r/MensRights16/06/18 01:40 PM

The numbers shouldn't matter. Yes!!! I’ve been thinking even if only like 10% of rape/abuse victims were men why the fuck do they not matter? Suddenly minorities are unimportant now? That baffles me. Even then the statistics do show that men are a large portion of victims so we don’t even have to use that argument.

“Men are trash” is a big one that’s been getting to me lately. No context or explanation just “men are trash”. It’s just mean. Feminism is mean. Even after typing that I can HEAR twitter feminists reacting by saying “Boohoo! Get over it!”.
/r/MensRights16/06/18 01:08 PM

I was not aware of that actually. I had a terrible habit of trusting people who “sound like they know what they’re talking about”. That’s gross :/ I guess fuck all of it then. That’s really really upsetting. I cant believe how much I don’t know, how much has been swept under the rug. Feminism just feels nice, as a girl. It’s like, “Do you feel inferior? Ever had a bad date? Do men say rude things to you ever? Well guess what, it’s because they’re monsters and you’re a magical princess!”. When yo…

Thank you! I’ve been working really hard on lowering my defenses in the last week or so. And it’s changed my fucking life. Seriously. Watching and reading things that made me uncomfortable in the past and thinking “Why am I uncomfortable? Is it because it’s easier to stick with what I’m familiar with than to open my mind?” has changed my views on SO MANY THINGS. Also trying not to be super self congratulatory in this thread...but I’m really excited. It’s a new chapter. So I hope it’s noticeable …

I guess I’m just so used to feminism that I can’t even comprehend an ideology that isn’t so exclusionary! In feminist spaces men are expected to shut up and listen, and male feminists are criticized for “using the ideology to get laid”. It’s gross. Not to completely shit on feminism as a whole. It’s a broad ideology, many feminists are actually good people that do care about male issues. They just think that the term = egalitarianism...but women have it worse so it’s called feminism. OR because …

Thanks dude. I have a lot of guilt right now, and fear for my friendships (which is fucked. I shouldn’t be scared of losing people because I’ve realized that men are hurting) but I think it will get better over time.

I mean like, as a woman that doesn’t apply to me in feminism. In MRA circles I feel like I’d come off as the female equivalent as that. I don’t want to sound like “I am so sorry that I was born a woman. My existence is violence. I hate myself because of your suffering”. I’m a woman. Sorry for the confusion!
