"I WAS GOING TO FUCK YOU FAGGET." It's terrible what the culture has done to both sexes, because inherent in this woman's outburst were these flawed assumptions: You want sex with her (because that's what all men want, right?). If you don't want it, there's something wrong with you. Her self-worth is determined by her ability to pique the sexual interest of disinterested (read: powerful) men. If you watch 60 seconds of television commercials or music videos these days, it's no mystery where this…

I'll be out with my bf and I'll watch him talk to girls like a natural, but I don't know how to join in without it coming off as platonic. Well, if you're trying to pick up girls while you're out with your boyfriend, you're sending some pretty mixed signals. Most girls are probably going to just assume you're straight, or in a committed relationship, both of which will immediately put you in the friendzone. You probably just need to walk into a lesbian bar alone a couple times and practice. If t…

I've been there. As it turns out, "closing" with women you don't expect/want to see again is not a particularly ethical thing to do (unless, of course, you've made them aware of this). My guess is that your conscience has gotten the better of you. Congratulations on having one. The techniques you learn here can be powerful, but as has been said many times, with great power comes great responsibility.

I think you could probably play this to your advantage. Although there may be a lot of women strictly looking for husbands, you might find a significant number who relish the though of "corrupting" a virgin from a conservative upbringing.

Sometimes women with boyfriends want to go out and prove their attractiveness. If they don't have enough empathy to care that they're leading guys on with no hope of making a deeper connection, all for their own benefit, you can take comfort in the knowledge that they're really not the kind of women you want to be with. They are there for you to practice on and you are there to feed their egos. In that sense, it's mutually beneficial. But every once in a while, if you really impress a woman like…

This is a brilliant idea for how to spend an ex-girlfriend's birthday.

Sure, don't ask interrogation or interview style questions. I try to ask about unusual stuff that brings a smile to someone's face and gets them thinking, like "What was the most fun day you ever had as a kid?" or "If you could have any job in the world, without regard to pay, what would it be?" Either of those can generate a lot of follow-up questions and comments. Plus, the answers are interesting!

Limit your contact. 4 or 5 texts a day might be too much. Let one or two of hers pass without response and make sure you never respond faster than she responded to your previous text. At the same time, keep the content of the texts flirty and fun.

Canned lines and routines will generally get you nowhere, and on the occasions that they do, they leave you hanging about what to say next. That's not what the community is about. At the core, these are self-improvement techniques, not "tricks" to get girls.

Ask questions. The easiest way to keep a conversation going is to ask the other party questions and formulate your responses (often more questions) based on their answers. If you ask-listen-respond, you don't have to "think of stuff to talk about."

Once you've built some attraction with a woman working any job where she's carrying a pen and is obligated to give you a piece of paper (receipt, bill, etc.), you have an automatic edge. I've had reasonable success with some variation of, "You should write your number on that before you hand it to me."
/r/seduction05/01/13 06:24 PM
1

Mainly, I don't think you built enough of a rapport to assure she'd be excited about seeing you again. Some back-and-forth texts over a day or two would have been useful to build attraction, buy you had the time pressure of NYE, so you pulled the trigger too early. As far as specifics, I think you failed a shit test here: haha you're right. I did give it to you. It's sedditnewb and you probably should have dropped the whole idea when she texted you that the party was too far. That might have imp…

That's a false dichotomy. Nobody said anything about not putting in continuous effort to make a relationship work. I'm fine with putting forward that effort. It's to be expected. But being constantly tested is another thing. I've been in relationships like that. They're miserable.
/r/seduction03/01/13 07:30 AM

A relationship where one is subject to constant testing to prove his worth does not, in fact, seem worth doing. Fortunately, I don't think the author is right on this one.

I've always believed that it's all in their heads. Unless actual, studied and observed mental illnesses haunt you, there is literally nothing stopping you from being an easy-going and an all-around fun guy that similarly defined women fall for. Your perspective here is laughably narrow-minded, and based entirely on one anecdotal experience: your own. In the process, you're marginalizing the experience of the nearly 100,000 subscribers here. I'm happy you were able to come to a realization, put y…

Wow, this is depressing: Even in a relationship: it is the nature of women to continue testing, no matter how comfortable the two of you have gotten.[...] It is just the way she is wired.

I think you've grossly misunderstood the problem this community seeks to solve, the way the solutions are implemented, and their effectiveness. This quote demonstrates that perfectly: The bottom line is be yourself. Be honest but cautious. Simply be normal. See a pretty girl that you want to ask out? Come up to her and just strike up a conversation. Going up to a pretty girl you want to ask out and striking up a conversation is not normal for a lot of the guys discovering these techniques. The w…

Well, only you can read the situation in the moment, but I didn't get the sense from your description that something like that was their intention. I've been in a couple situations where that kind of thing happened, but it didn't take a lot of prompting. I think it has to flow naturally.

You have to pick one and separate her. Something simple like taking her hand and saying "Let's see what we've got in the kitchen" is fine. Once you're there, turn it into a fun, kino game of looking through the fridge or whatever. Then escalate. Trying to get with both of them at once is probably a bit advanced right now.

I do think there's an aspect of PUA that takes some of the mystery and excitement out of the opposite sex. It doesn't seem to affect everyone, but I know I have felt that at times; as if I probably wouldn't be with that particular woman had I not used some things I'd learned from the community to get her, because really, our connection wasn't that intense on my end. In my pre-PUA (wildly less successful) days, taking the time to build a deeper connection with the woman and then deciding whether …

I read it years ago with my girlfriend when we were having trouble. I found some interesting tidbits, though I don't know how they relate to pickup beyond the fact that understanding women is an important part of learning to attract them. Also, this book is not a novel. A novel is a fictional narrative. You may want to edit your post to correct that.

This has happened to me so many times. I really wish I understood the psychology behind it. It seems like the more intense and passionate a connection I have right off the bat with a woman, the more likely she is to end up with someone else almost immediately. I'm guessing there's some kind of fear element involved, like she'd rather be in control than in a relationship where she's at risk of getting hurt.

So, suggesting the addition of periods is now considered "grammar nazi ways?" You're clearly capable of using them (as demonstrated above) and they make your comments so much more readable.

Move on; not because she's into older men, but because she made her lack of interest clear. It's easy for a girl to make an exception when it's a matter of general preference, but if she's not interested in you specifically, there's not much you can do.

In some parts of Latin America, women will practically throw themselves at white guys. And to attract a woman who is a little reluctant, you have to forget about a lot of the techniques that would apply in the U.S. Environment and culture make a huge difference.

What's your success rate with girls below a 7? If it's high, or even just higher, do you think there might be something about your approach that's slightly different depending on the attractiveness of the girl? If so, that might be your problem. The fact that you're "putting in so much effort" and "feel inferior" both speak to the idea that you may be trying too hard with the women you judge to be "above" you. That in itself is unattractive.

It's funny you should bring this up, because I've been thinking about this FR for the last few days. My immediate and persistent thoughts after reading it were: "Kudos to you, guy, for refining your skills and achieving great success; but as an introvert, that sounds to me like a miserable evening." The idea of going to all those places and interacting with all those people, with the final reward being that you get to spend more time with one of them sounds dreadful. After going to half as many …

I think this is a great point, and yes, I've had similar feelings even though I haven't really engaged in any PUA stuff in years. It's a challenge not to end up seeing women as either weak-willed, lacking in morals or just plain needy. I know there are women out there who are none of those things, but practicing pickup can lead you to believe they're few and far between.

Your hotness level doesn't really matter that much. It will help him just to be seen as attractive by someone else. It will actually work best if you hit on him during a lull after she has at least made eye contact with him, if not after they've spoken a bit. I have personally been the object of "I saw him first" competition between women a number of times. To me, it's silly, but to them, it really seems to mean something. Don't do that thing where you talk him up to the girl. That's too overt. …

Nice. Reminds me of a story... Years ago, I had a long-distance flirtation going with a girl I met online. One Saturday, we're talking on the phone and she asks what I'm doing that night. I answer honestly that I've got a first date. I can tell she's a little bit taken aback (probably more by my honesty than anything), but she quickly recognizes that we're not a couple and adjusts her attitude. Then she asks me a few question about the first date girl and the conversation moves on. But before we…

"Why are we talking about this?" I go, "Because I like you." Isn't this like the ultimate no-no? A more PUA response to the question might be: "Because you keep bringing the topic back to relationships. What are you trying to pull? I have a girlfriend!"

Change of venue is so powerful that even if she's taking the lead, I'd say go for it. Walking in to a new location with a guy she's vibing with sends a powerful message. And in this case, she wasn't actually taking the lead, but rather following the lead of her friends and inviting you along. Once there, you would have the option to take the lead again by saying, "Let's get out of here." I'm no expert, but that's how I see it.
